For what it's worth, I do wanna give HUGE props to Samsung for NOT making those features exclusive to Samsung laptops. That's a bonus, not a negative. As a consumer, yes it means we may not buy their laptops, but their willingness to "play nice" with others is also is one of the major reasons why we buy Samsung devices at all.

I absolutely agree with you, and it is what makes the Samsung experience so much better in my view. Samsung's partnership with Microsoft, Intel, Qualcomm, Google and others has made Samsung's Ecosystem broader and more pervasive which enhances the Samsung user experience.
Samsung has taken the management direction to collaborate with other companies that are the best within their industry and integrate them into the Samsung Ecosystem. It is amazing what is evolving for Samsung users today and how impressive the products, apps and services they are creating together.
I am just beginning to use the Samsung Ecosystem system with projects for my office and home renovations. I think the best is yet to come for Samsung users.

The timing of this video is perfect! Been looking for possibly buying a samsung laptop to replace my current one (Asus). Since I already have a samsung phone, earbuds and tablet, I wanted to stay within their ecosystem. They're pricy laptops though, so I wanted to see if it's worth the money. Great video!

    • @lucascarracedo7421
      @lucascarracedo7421 2 года назад

There's no such a thing in this case though. I mean, they run Windows anyway. You can do exactly the same things with any different brand laptop. I understand having a Samsung phone, tablet, and earbuds, while it's all Android based, same UI, some nice sharing options. But what's the point of a laptop in that "ecosystem"? Whichever interaction you may want can be achieved by using a different combination of tools with literally any computer.
And I say that very loosely. I get Apple having it's "ecosystem". Samsung's ecosystem is the broader Android world, not just other Samsung devices. How many special interactions can you get between Samsung devices anyway? Who buys apps on the Galaxy Store?

Thao missed that whilst the Samsung Gallery App for Windows works on any PC and is just like the Phone App, it's only useful on a PC IF you use the built in Sync to OneDrive. It isn't showing what's on your phone but what's on your phone that's been synced to OneDrive. If you're a Google Photos or other cloud storage user it's just a quite basic PC Photo Library app. You can add photos from your PC but it works best if you use OneDrive.

    Hi Thao.
Thank you for the review on this topic. You pose an interesting question; The short answer is yes. The more complete response would be, it depends on how important these integrated features are to your user experience and workflow. I personally went through the process of deciding to purchase the Galaxy Book Pro 360 15-inch over other high quality PC brand laptops, like the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 and the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6. After comparing and evaluating each one, the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 15-inch was the best fit for my requirements. That is not to say the other laptops were not wonderful as well, but the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 15-inch simply had a better design, features and last but not least Samsung’s Ecosystem.
You are correct that several of these features can be added to any modern Windows laptop. And that is good for Windows and Android users overall. But Samsung designed these features, apps and services into there products and advertise and supports them. I am disappointed in other PC OEMs, they spend zero-time, effort or money talking about integration features for smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, earbuds, Monitors, TVs, appliances, auto and smart homes. The only consumer brand bringing it all together extensively is Samsung. There appears to be to very little interest from the other PC brands to create their very own Ecosystem. So for me Samsung is the only game in town other than Apple and at this time, I think Samsung has surpassed them as well.

Just a small correction. Smasung notes app isnt available on other devices, just like quickshare, its an samsung exclusive. That hoenslty is one of the USP of the device.
Even I was leaning towards buying the galaxy book series considering the snotes app exclusivity. The price remained the biggest reason why I opted not to. I convinced myself that Snotes app on my tabs7+ is sufiicient enough for me to not spend a premiuim on the galaxy book series.
In hindisght, it was a wise decision. Could use the money saved on buying more accesories such as the MX keyboard and mouse.

Samsung had a great deal on the 13" i7, 16GB RAM, 512 SSD for $940.49 and I got a Rose Gold Galaxy Watch 4 for my wife for only $37.49 as a bundle deal... Which included a $110 trade in deal of my old Note 8 which was just taking up room in my sock drawer...
    I have a Dell 9370 2-in-1 4K, i7 (10th gen) w/16GB RAM, so I was thinking the Pro Book 360 could be its replacement...
I was so terribly mistaken on so many different levels... I was pretty shocked.
The Dell is SO superior to the PB 360 in almost everything except weight, keyboard backlight brightness and S-Pen...
The 16 x10 screen on the Dell makes for a huge difference, that giant bezel on the chin of the 16 x9 PB 360, just is so disappointing. Plus the brightness is noticeably dimmer on the PB 360. Also, the lower screen resolution is VERY noticeable to me as compared to the Dell's and even my S7+.
The finish on the PB 360 (Mystic Navy) is the worst fingerprint magnet I've ever seen, after an hour the finish looked like a cloudy mess with only light handling.
The webcam is so laughably bad it's comical. The Dell's isn't great either but it's way better than the PB 360's. It's great that Samsung updated the webcam to 1080p this year.
The S-Pen is fantastic. As an S7+ user and a 30+ year Graphic Artist, I honestly think it's the best stylus on any platform. The Dell's pen is good, just not as GREAT as the S-Pen.
I ended up getting a return on the PB 360, which brought my wife's watch price back up to $200 and killed my trade-in discount... Which was understandable.
If Samsung could make some adjustments to the screen size ratio and make it the same resolution as the S7+ (and 120 Hz) and put some sort of coating of the body to reduce fingerprints, I would definitely consider buying it again.
    Thanks for reading.

good build quality and battery life is critical for ultrabooks. That said increasing resolution to QHD for 15" is a no brainer considering their tablets have that resolution. I am hoping we will see 4K QD OLED laptop screens in next year or 2.

With no operating system of their own but bridging the gap between two different operating systems made by two different tech giants and that too are rivals of each other, what Samsung is trying to do and have made so far possible is really great. Apple doesn't have to deal with these things at all... from hardware to software Apple has got everything under their control so kudos to Samsung for even coming so far in making an alternative ecosystem possible that doesn't burn a hole in your pocket

Id rather buy a Dell XPS 13 for that kind of money because
    - you get a better build quality
    - great keyboard
    - good trackpad
    - you still get Samsung's file management system and 2nd screen for your tablet
    - a better screen geared towards productivity and thinner bezels
    - better speakers
    - upgradeable storage
I've seen the galaxy book pro making a snapping and creaking noise because I think Samsung designed the book pro 2 to be ultra-lightweight, but it ended up not being that durable. It's still good laptop, just better and cheaper options out there

Thank you for doing proper review on this one and not completely swayed by Samsung marketing because I've always feel like the ecosystem features is nothing groundbreaking really. Samsung marketing suggest the laptop is like world hero or something lmao 😆. I use S10, Galaxy Buds 2 and Galaxy Watch 4 but even I feel this laptop is lame offering compared to other Windows competition. My 2 cents ...

I am in the same boat with Samsung products (sub the Watch for the Tab S8+ though), and ultimately went with a Lenovo Yoga 2 in 1. Phone Link does so much on any Windows laptop, that it makes little sense to give up a high resolution display with an optimal aspect ratio for a couple of Samsung apps which barely improve on Microsoft's built in offerings. Plus Google Drive is great for accessing files no matter what machine I'm on.

I'm sorry to say this, but most of the things you put as disadvantages in this video I see as good things about the Samsung ecosystem, the fact that practically almost all software resources do not force a lock-in for the Korean manufacturer's equipment, as they are software that are available for any Windows laptop on the market.

I've had the note phones since the 5th iteration and now the s22 ultra because it's the only phone with a pen, but I prefer the iPad over the tab. I only own Windows computers, and I've never considered switching to be part of an ecosystem since it's something that I don't need.

I guess trade in value for their devices to Samsung could be a bonus. Also a question I have is the communication between phone, tablet, and windows laptop better on the Samsung devices. I stopped trying in 2020 to work with Windows and android at that time. It just wasn’t there when receiving messages and transferring files. I ended up using my apple products more and only use Windows and android here and there. It would be nice if I could do video editing and music production on a Samsung laptop and Samsung device but again apps I need not there on android and not sure about latency on laptop. I think they may have waited too long for hardware support years on some of these devices especially for people like me who may be ditching products for better ecosystems. I wasn’t into ecosystem stuff back then but it does make life easier when you have a lot going on and just need things to work. Apple has its quirks also but I spend less time trying to do certain tasks because of the continuity I have been devices. Microsoft had the plan some years ago but just didn’t pull it off in the consumer market. Android may still have hope if they can get developers more on board and show more stability in app product lifecycles. I’ve wasted enough money on hardware/software products only to be good for a few years then gone. Playing it safe these days. 😀

Also if you want to have more control over your laptop's specs and config this is not for you. If you want 16 GB of RAM in a 13" laptop, they simply won't offer it, otherwise you have to opt for the more expensive 2-in-1. And the RAM is soldered and not user upgradeable. And the screen maybe OLED, but a 1080p screen on a 15" laptop is not acceptable. It is barely acceptable at 13" as well. And that too at 16x9 aspect ratio. This laptop is not targeted at people who really need to do some work on their laptop, but is still priced as a very premium productivity laptop. This should be a hard pass for most people.

I havent figured out what to do, but I have found the laptop in my backpack burning hot and battery drained like if it was on and running, when it was supposed to be in sleep mode. I have found that several people had the same issue and it sucks, because it is such an expensive laptop. I have the galaxy book pro 15.
