- After a fierce cross-examination by prosecutors, Alex Murdaugh’s lawyer Jim Griffin walked him through his initial testimony in less than 30 minutes, summarizing his story to the jury. Griffin ended his redirect by asking the disgraced lawyer if he killed Maggie and Paul on June 7, 2021, to which he replied no and doubled down on his claims of innocence.

He is guilty. Like if you agree.
He sure responds to his lawyer in quick simple manner. With the Prosecutor, he repeats questions all the time to stall for the best lie he could come up!
This testimony was nothing but practiced lies. He even said he was studying the evidence and responded to it. I believe Blanca and ms Shirley. He tried to get them to change their memories. And he even said that they are miss remembering what he has said
So then by that logic every Sled agaent is guilty of murder
@@weybye91Thank you. Logic, and comments don't often go together. Just about every agent with a "law" basis is guilty of just about every crime you can imagine.
@@kimberley1449
If you were on trial for murder, you would study the evidence too. You would also go through practice "testimony". You would think your answers through, as the prosecution is just that... Prosecution. Even when being honest, you answer carefully. Basic human nature. He is more comfortable with his atty, as anyone would be. You judge based on evidence, testimony, consistency. You don't judge based on what you think he is thinking when questioned. Anyone would think their answer through, unless they don't care.
@@SacredWaves that wasent my point, the sled agent Owens lied about the congress thing, and Alec lied about the kennels, so by that logic both are guilty of murder, if you listen to all those that say he is guilty, cause he lied
What a piece of work!this is a socopath!
Guilty Guilty Guilty. You ppl that believe all his lies are the ones he would find it easy to manipulate and take all your money if you hired him.
💯 Sooo true!
Nasty comment #1
If you're not providing value, keep your opinion to yourself. There's enough trash on the internet already.
Why didn't the state ask the lawyer Maggie went six weeks before her death.
whats the proof?
Momma used to say, lying takes too much effort for what it's worth...she said every lie you tell must be covered up by another lie...and if you continue to live that way it never stops...until the lies consume you. This is a perfect example of that, starting from him covering up his addiction, even before that I suppose.
Amen!!!
Right... exactly true. Which is exactly one of the reasons that I think he may be innocent to the murders. I thought he was guilty as Sin at first. Then the more I started following this case, the more it literally makes no sense. What makes more sense is that he was paranoid/on pills and so used to lying that he didn't think these would come back to bite him in the butt. Also, I think he's just super awkward in general, so I was reading him wrong during the initial interviews(in the car). I think he was on pills and super paranoid that they already suspected him.. and the fear of that just took over. I don't think that the Alex on pills did a good job being under the spotlight.. bc he already was in such a dark/weird space. On an animal level, we pick up on when other humans are dishonest. I feel like that's what snowballed all this but we will see. They def don't have any hard evidence against him for the murders, that I know of.
@@mollyram2997 true, there is no gun with his fingerprints om it or picture of him shooting them. But him being om the snapshot video that had never been sent, the fact that he said to have touched the bodies yet was clean as a slate, and telling he wanted to do something with the phone 'that fell out of P's pocket when turning him over (why should he do that) and while telling that in the car he paused, immediately stopped crying because he seemed to realise he gave too much away setting there without blood spatter. He lied almost all his life. I bet 'Mags' and 'PowPow' whom he stupidely forgot to call them that way during interrogations, now only for the jury to manipulate them, have found some pills in hun and that he was fed up and blew their brains off.
@@mollyram2997 I agree. No hard evidence at all. And not a speck of evidence he was not a good father or husband . If he ever was mean to them, the Def would have ferreted it out. All accounts, even as a serious drug addict he was very loving father and husband. Coached all his boys sports.very family oriented even with extended family. Family vacations, etc.
Our mothers are very wise aren’t they? My mother always taught us never lie because you’ll have to remember what you said.
When asked if he murdered Paul and Maggie his reply was he did not 'hurt' them but did not say Murder. 🤔
clever little bastid
Probably trying to distance himself from the murders.. watched too much jcs
@morrell. I noticed that too!!
i mean if u killed them u probably hurt them soooo
Yup that's what NPD'd people do. Won't actually answer the question...so they are not "actually" lying. That's the giveaway. They tell on themselves like this.
He's still hiding something...
I sure hope this jury sees through his BS
This man is evil personified. I hope he is convicted. He and those dirty lawyers of his along with his awful family are horrible people.
B.S. plus
They won't he will walk guaranteed. They will probably give him a medal for bravery.
@Robert you know not all cases have physical evidence right?! There's more than enough circumstantial evidence, plus his alibi has been obliterated. Nice try though.
I sure hope the jury actually pays attention to the lack of evidence whatsoever 🙄
If someone else murdered them. He’d be angry that his family was brutally murdered and he’s being blamed vs LE finding the “real killers”. I’d be furious!!! He’s way too calm…
He is the killer! No one else! Why else he lied about his alibi? If he was innocent we would know!
He is good in many bad things I noticed since I follow the case! Not much of good in this dude!
He has a narcissistic personality disorder! If you are familiar with these freaks you know what this dude is capable of!
People who doesn’t have knowledge of NPD will fall for everything this dude is telling them!
As the narcissist he is, he has very dark and evil intentions! People with NPD are dangerous and do anything to keep control even murdering the wife who wants to divorce him!
👁👁
Waaay too calm!
Just because someone is a sociopath doesn’t make them guilty. IM sure he is guilty, but also weirder things have happened in life
Unless it was the cartel
He sure wouldn’t have wanted all his friends and family on the property if the killers hadn’t been found. He would have been frightened for everyone’s safety.
Alec and Buster have the same, cold hard eyes.
I am afraid it will end up in a hung jury if one juror is fooled by his lies and emotions.
Isn't interesting that when his attorney asks him a question he remembers details but when the prosecutor asked him he doesn't recall .. his eyes say he is lying
and never repeats the defense's question... onLy the prosecutor's.
Well that is because they let him study all the evidence so he could create a new time-line that could fit hi b.s. story. I don't buy any of it or his fake tears.
He's coached to do that too.
He has nothing left to lose at this point.
Very true.
exactly... eXcept for a murder conviction...State prison vs Federal prison...
Other than what dignity and respect he may have from others if there is any
He's lied through out his testimony and said he was studying the evidence before he testimony. And his fake paw paw that no one who knew Paul ever said he was called that.
@@youplayyouplay4970 He views federal prison as a cake walk. He's already buying himself better treatment from inmates by putting money in their commissary. In state, he's going to be paying everybody. For his safety, for their respect, even though that is disrespect. Protection.
Stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from the company he worked for and they’re calling it “financial misdeeds”..like he skimmed $20 bucks occasionally from petty cash..🤨

@@michaelbailey5736 Which is still weird, eh?
Of he wasn't the only one taking them.
He wasn't no pill addict... there's no proof, no calls or texts to pick up pills or anything. U can't hold up a life like that when ur taking opiates like that bc u start to only care about the pills and that's it! He was too successful in his career, aside from the stealing, to be an opioid addict. That's a defense move or an excuse for what he did, if u will....
@@carriethompson84 he’s definitely on something , I believe he probably is addicted to opioids but the money didn’t go on that at all !
To me I think the motive has to be his anger with Paul about the boat crash exposing him and Maggie & Paul confronting him about his drug use. Just my opinion
Don’t forget the housekeeper!
@@tinyvanuffelen7918 ikr??!! Something fishy there too..
Or did Paul find the baggie of pills Alec had in his pocket while talking to SLED. Did Paul take them and refuse to give them back, when confronted by Alex at the Kennels??
After Alex killed his family, I believe Alex took Maggie's phone on the cart and drove up the road far enough to throw it across the grass! This will explain why the phone never shows that it traveled along with Alex's auto.
But he didn't kill his family? So your statement makes no sense
20 year addiction! This means he started this when his boys were just toddlers. Not the kind of family life any kid should have to grow up in. High functioning or not!
Thus, their conduct! Trust me the sons are devils! They learned from Satan. They have never suffered consequences. The making of psychopaths!!!!
wasting our time. put him away and throw away the key
I notice during his own lawyers he answers short and yes or no, prosecutors, he tries to explain we all need to understand his reasons and avoids the direct questions...what a pawpaw this evil is...

To be fair he rehearsed with his lawyers (also his besties lol). Plus alex is a lawyer…

I would love to hear from family and friends watching his behaviour on the stand. Is he any different here at all to what he's normally like or is this showtime for him.
I saw one brother staring intently at Alex while he was answering questions, but after realizing the camera was on him, his facial expression changed.

He said he didn't "hurt" Maggie or Paul...it was the bullets that came out of the guns.
Guns are bad.
@@salesadmieze9049 only as bad as the person using it.
No he did not double down on saying he did not murder them. He said he would never hurt them. He seems to have a difficultly saying the word murder or kill. Does he equate murdering as not hurting someone?
he's a lawyer and even the smallest use of certain words has big outcomes the way he says hurt is him trying to say he's innocent if he uses the word murder its like putting that stamp on him as a murderer, even though the public sees it that way he doesn't care about the public as he cares only about what the jury thinks and how he can swing the minds of the jury by even using the word hurt instead of murder. IMO he knows exactly how to manipulate and use his experience as a lawyer to try and get a hung jury but I hope they see through it because I believe he did kill them.
I want to know what the jury thinks so bad!!!
Me too. I’m worried if they were crying listening to him (which I heard in a break from the media) they’re being swayed by his lies, fake crying etc.
Where in Blanca’s text from Maggie shows her love for him? It’s not there, just some nice and care! She wanted a divorce, didn’t even wore her wedding ring anymore! That’s one motive out of many! He is GUILTY!
Poor Maggie , she started to do her own detective work. 😢
Where does it show/prove she was divorcing him. I haven’t seen anything yet?
@@kalona111 have you been following this for a couple years, if not, it wasn’t in the trial.
If he was innocent he wouldn't lie about being on kennels and the clothes. Where are they? He told Ms. B to say to the police he stayed in his mom's house for 30 more minutes for his alibi.
He told his sister in law that someone that perpetrated the crime, was planning this for a LONG time...
yeah, how did he know a long time? Divorcing for a BIG reason. What was the "talk" about? I thought Mossell was all in Maggies name.?
Exactly - because he knew the stealing & lies would catch up after the boat accident. Maggie would have gone ballistic. He was trying to preserve the Murdaugh dynasty through his other son.
Admit I napped through this defense part. Victimhood is so unattractive. As is a family annihilator. 😮
He said he'd hurt himself first, but in reality he hurt them then himself, literally the opposite
Why he can’t just simply say “ I did not murder them”
Why does he answer - I did not HURT them?
It's not the first time i hear this from someone being accused of murder. When asked directly a lot of them answer -I did not HURT my wife/son/ whomever it happens to be.
I mean, HURT is not the question. I don't know why they always let them get away with that answer? Just repeat - My question was if you murdered them, not if you HURT them!
And this ol' "mastermind" was evidently HURTING his wife and son a lot, throughout 20 yrs that he was an addict and kept lying to them. So, wtf are you talking about dude?? That would be my question cross examining him ( if i was a lawyer) - You already hurt them for 20 years, now, did you kill them?
I’m so glad everyone is seeing through his bs😭🙏🏼
yes!!! hes makin is reallly easy too!
This is just BS he wants the jury to think he ain’t guilty but he really killed his wife and child he’s guilty to me 100% you don’t get to walk after you committed such a crime I say he gets life without ever getting out
He clearly only cares about his one son buster. 🙄 This whole family is messed up. Obviously Maggie and Paul found out about his lies and he took them out
I think it’s so bizarre and a bit self sabotaging for him to have gotten up on the stand because he wasn’t convincing at all
Nodding yes as he denies things doesn’t help him.
If he was so close to each of them how is it he couldn't remember the last words he said to each of them before they were shot to death ? I don't think he realized him replaying the last time he seen them alive wo u ld have helped the jurors believe he didn't kill them. How does anyone forget the last words ? Prosecutor asked him 20 times and it never dawned on him that a sincere innocent person would never have forgotten the last minutes he spent with them .
The entire day and the days after are a blur. I speak from experience, you just can’t remember all the details and it is frustrating. Perhaps the mind is protecting you somehow.
i mean he thought he was coming back to them, u gonna remember if you said see you later, or bye, or catch u later or something ?
If the prosecutor wouldve just be quiet, had patience, Alex could explain more & possibly be a blabbermouth & catch himself up. I felt the prosecution interrupting him left and right, yes ok ok, we know he’s a liar! But on cross the DA spoke TOO MUCH.
just my opinion!
Don’t get me wrong the Prosecutor has been awesome, just not on cross with Alex
Where is Camille Vasquez when you need her? (I’m kidding but hopefully you get my humor)
Those were my exact thoughts. Way too much interruption. Camille should be studied in law school. She’s a master of the art
@@jimlahey3919 tbh Camille interrupted even more, but in their case it was very much needed and the best strategy ever. I agree that Walters interrupted too much and we maybe would have heard AM getting caught in his own lies would he just let him talk more

Let's subpoena his cartel.
Guilty go straight to jail do not pass go, do not collect 200.00..
He was looking OK until the cross.
Did you watch the cross ? Evidence to prove Alex pulled the trigger showing he was the person responsible for killing his son and wife ? Zero !
@@Bugsy0333 Most of it. I thought they did a pretty good job of making show all his lies the night of the murder and after. But yeah I think he's got a good shot at not-guilty or hung jury for sure.
@bugsy0333 A good shot?? 😂🤣😂..only if people from the south have an IQ below 80!
They wanted to kill Paw Paw and Maggie (who had nothing to do with it) and not kill Alex (who spearheaded to cover up and put the blame on Conner driving the boat) yup.....makes plenty of sense
If he didn’t kill them…. Who did?
It makes absolutely no sense that someone else was there at the kennels waiting to kill them. Why wouldn’t have the “killer” also killed Alex?
because the killer was alex
um cause it hurts him worse to kill his loved ones and have him suffer through it and then blamed for something he ain't do
The killer speaks!
his answers are very rehearsed when his attorneys asked the questions as where he repeats and has to think about his answers with the prosecutors
I listened to all so far. He'll be found guilty. Two were killed within minutes and Alex only one there. Guilty as charged no matter what other evidence .
If he left the kennel by he was getting hot and sweaty then why did his clothes smell freshly washed?
I feel sorry for him being an addict because nobody ever asks for that. However, the things he did were still his choices. Think of it like this - if a poor person is an addict, they’ll steal from grandma’s purse or pick pocket in Walmart. Someone like him who has access to more money will steal on a larger level, i.e., stealing millions from clients.
If He was addicted for that long & amount We wouldn’t be seeing Him at all. That’s a fact.
Just say no
@Debra Clayton it's not a fact!Michael Jackson lasted over 20 years and he was a much bigger of an addict
Being an addict doesn’t doesn’t justify murder , he’s sane enough to steal millions & lavish his lifestyle but an addict & unwell when he murders his own family? Seriously if this is folks way of thinking we’re already doomed
Usually he could take a few breaths and the feeling would go away. But he couldn't shake it off that day.
Even though it was post murder, whenever he would say that, which is a number of different times, he seemed to get relief from saying it. He was sitting in the golf cart when he shot them...if so.
He ripped people off for millians.his wife found out everything.

I'll tell ya this...I was a HEAVY, VERY HEAVY user of all types of opiates & I can PROMISE YOU that my level of addiction NEVER reached into the millions - and I DID have that at my disposal. So, there's wayyy more to this story than is being said here. Whether it's moving more D043 for other, or whatever, I'm just gonna tell you that if this man consumed millions in oXy, he wldnt be with us right now.
@Bell Lee Cld be. But like I said, this runs further & way deeper than all this surface shxt. I AM a recovering addict and a paralegal with common sense. They need this to go away...quickly! Why would the perpetrator take only Maggie's phone and not Paul's phone 😒????
If I recalled, the defense team put up a $100,000 reward after the murder to anyone who can identify the perp(s), what came out of that?
They had an expiration date on it and it expired.
Why didn't Alex do it? Didn't he want the killers found?

And he has no remorse for leaving them at kennels or checking on them before he leaves. I just don't see him innocent but very guilty.
Maggie's sister had no problem remembering her last conversation with her sister...what kind of husband can't remember the last conversation with his wife or son???
Think he will be charged for lying to LE, and have to pay restitution for the extra work he put on the police officers by lying?
I’m tired of him saying that he has already discussed this repeatedly. Let me hear it one more time, slimeball. One more for the guys in the back row.
it's sickening...

Was he ever offered a plea deal?
No
Murdaugh should start an acting club in jail since he’s an expert. 😵💫
His phrase “I would never hurt them” is not at all equal to saying “I did not shoot them”. The words “would never” are a common phrase used by unrepentant criminals. He did not answer the question with this obtuse answer. And that was his last chance to declare his innocence. Alex, words are important, and you picked the wrong ones. Guilty!
