Notice his attorney leads him on every question that is evidence specific, even going so far as to provide details for him in advance to complete his answers. I've never seen a trial where it go's so far without any objections. As always AM has an excuse why it’s not his fault that he lied. It was the drugs that made him paranoid. Well why don’t you just use the drugs as the reason you killed your wife and son. You sat there telling us your alibi of going to see your mother proves you didn’t commit the murders and the car and the phone records prove it. That is just another big lie, which I hope the jury doesn’t believe. It proves you went to your mothers not your innocence. There was enough time to do the crime.

He has no remorse for all the people he hurt, and stole from. He uses every opportunity to admit to his pill use and stealing from people "he loved, and still loves." I get this is part of his defense, but it comes across as gloating to me. I think he believes he will get away with the murders, and then get a slap on the wrist for stealing all the money, by blaming it on the drug addiction. He took the stand because he thinks he is smarter than everyone else, can fool everyone, and loves to talk about himself, and control the narrative. Then the lawfirm found his thieving and he knew he was going to be fired, so he lured Maggie from the beach, telling he wanted her there for family illness and Paul and blew them away in a family annihilating revenge move.

I think it was shame. Maggie only was discovering the scope of his criminal activity. She never knew Alex had been fired from his job or his conversation with the financial officer of the firm that day. Alex couldn't bear the shame of her finding out or the pain of seeing his son Paul going to jail. He probably thought he would be taking them out of their misery while getting a windfall insurance payment to start his life over. A delusional narcissist he is, no doubt.

Instead he says I wanted to make sure they knew I didn’t do this. Wrong Alex your answer should of been I wanted to know because I didn’t want them wasting time on me and not looking for MM and PM true killers. Instead he is so focused on himself. With them out of the way, he could get loans with that Maggie because it's most of it's in her name. I think he has money stashed, I think Eddie knows more than most people think he does.
