I used heat twice a month, washing my hair every two weeks and my hair thrived. I'm currently air drying because my styles don't need heat, I wear a bun most days but I'm not scared of heat at all.
Great video🥰 your hair is beautiful!! also started washing my hair every two weeks for that reason. Blow outs suit me best. With a great heat protectant leave in, every time I use heat. I have two staple deep conditioners I use and I go between the two depending on my needs. I'm mid back currently and I trim every time I relax. I want to maintain my thickness from root to end as well as my length. And I'm enjoying my hair journey 💕
Hi Fay! I really enjoy watching all of your videos! Especially, your relaxed hair videos! Or, hair videos period! :) I would say by the way you take good care of your hair you will be able to achieve longer lengths! I'm also trying to grow my hair out to longer lengths too! My hair is not as long as yours right now. But it's at mid back length! It was that length as a child! I've always had dreams of growing extremely long hair! Like to classic or thigh length! I really hope that someday soon I will reach those lengths! I stretch my relaxers out to 3 or 4 months at the most. Because, my grain of hair is soft and wavy!
@@FayDouglas Thanks. I've never had hair that long either! The longest I had was Mid Back Length or Bra Strap Length. But I have some people on my family that can grow hair that long, and I mostly have hair genes like them. Yeah, I know what you mean about not being sure if you'd be able to manage it.
Loved the videao. Very informative and thank you for sharing. Oh, what flat iron was that in the thumbnail? Mine died a few months ago....have to get another one....
Hi where do you get you hair done in London? Does she listen to what you want or just she just do what she is used to doing with other people? I've started relaxing my own hair because I've had three bad hair dressers in the past 1.5 years. But I would love to have a good hair dresser.
Yes they use mizani no-lye relaxer. I done chelate my hair BUT if you watch my routine I don’t use a lot of products. Also I don’t use a special sulphate fee shampoo. I have tried some but I felt like they weren’t stripping enough to be honest as I wash my hair every two weeks (sometimes a little longer ). If your washing weekly or co washing with relaxed hair , I would say maybe every 3 - 4 weeks you might want to chelate. My shampoo has Sodium Sulfite - I don’t believe they put this in sulfate free shampoos.
I'm starting to re-think the absolute no-heat approach. If you're responsible with heat (keep the heating tools at a moderate temperature, use a heat protectant, only one or two passes on each bit of hair)....it can't be too bad....?
I think it’s important to wear heat protectant and limit heat. And if your hair is natural you need to be extra careful not to alter the curl pattern with lots of heat but if you always wear your hair pressed then that isn’t as much of a concern.
If you use heat correctly, it is no problem. The problem begins when you put heat everyday to retouch your heat style, your hair gets fried and dry and it breaks off.

What are the names of the deep conditioners you use?
Sounds like your hair is thriving! X

That’s great, I hope you reach your goal. I’ve never had hair that long! Not sure I’d be able to manage it.

I go to Elite Hair Lounge in London. I've tried the Stockwell and Archway branch, both with managers. Stockwell was the best.
I go to 3 Thirty in Shoreditch but I’ve also heard that Elite hair lounge is good.
Interesting that your salon uses a no-lye relaxer. Do your chelate your hair/ feel like you have issues with mineral deposits? It doesn’t look it! X

You have a successful relaxed hair journey!! Do you think you will go natural ?
I have considered it but decided I didn’t want to as I’m actually happy with my hair how it is.
I recommend you talk about no sulfates fast hair growth shampoo.
