44-Year-Old Kevin Willis (6pts) vs. Jazz (2007)

- One of the five games a 44-year-old Kevin Willis played for the Dallas Mavericks, making him the oldest player in the NBA to play more than two games (coach Nat Hickey got on the court for two games back in 1948 at the age of 45). Despite looking a bit stiff when running down the court and being twice as old as guys like Paul Millsap, Willis actually looks quite spry here. He was useful on defense (whenever he wasn't tying his shoe in the middle of action), was able to switch on Deron Williams and stay in front of him and also scored twice in the post against Jarron Collins. Not too shabby for a guy who turned 45 that September and had made his NBA debut in 1984. April 13, 2007.

He played against 4 eras... Bird, MJ, Kobe, LeBron. That's crazy.
yeah gotta love these Kobe
I hope you're not serious
I find it funny how when he first played in the NBA the Lakers were a dynasty and when he retired the Lakers were again a dynasty.
you mean Shaq and then Lebron
The Dr was still playing when he entered the league.
The fact that a dude who’s older than Michael Jordan was playing in the NBA as late as 2007 when LeBron was reaching his first NBA Finals is mind blowing to me
Totally. The fact a 60 yr old currently played in the NBA in 2007 is wild lol
that’s actually crazy
Bro played from Julius Erving to Kevin Durant. What.
That is honestly amazing, dude played from 1984 to 2005 then came back in 2007. My Dad was 13 when he started playing and I was 6 when he retired and my dad was 36. That’s just amazing.
Not really. Even Dwight Howard has played more career minutes than him and Dwight is only 35.
@@realniggashit3 what do ya mean not really? If it ain’t impressive go and do it bruh
@@JTLuxxHD Mileage matters more than biological age, which is why LeBron James' longevity is more impressive than Karl Malone, John Stockton, and Robert Parish
"Hey Kevin, my grandma says hi"
This dude was drafted in 1984
1984 was the best draft ever followed closely by 1996
damn thats old for an athlete
old players are amazing, so much passion.
I agree, he is playing at 44 like a rookie trying to prove he is worthy. In his prime he had a 18 points 15 rebounds averages. We remember him mostly being old so we don't know that he is actually quite a beast!
Mad respect for the love of the game he shows.
Thats why i consider 35 still young...
@free discounts Agreed
@free discounts I’m 27 now and feel a lil different from when I was 23. I can only imagine how 35 will feel after 3 hours of basketball and waking up the next day
Kevin willis could still be playing today
He was my favorite spur. I loved watching him play
He grew up with my uncles in Jordan Downs in South Central Los Angeles
It's like a old old legend plays in the nba again..
Wow thanks for the upload !
Thank you so much for this
Yo! Amazing work!!
“hey Willis, you single? my grandma kind of likes you”
Even Kevin is seven feet, his short arms make him seem a bit "shorter" than his height.
For the love of the game age doesn't matter
Amen
he should have played playoff against Golden state.
This guy played in the nba until he was 45? Wow I thought Brady was crazy.
not much people attended this game
I never knew this happened
Players retire due to their bodies being beat up, and reliability issues, not so much as in age. It just so happens that the age and health go hand and hand 99% of the time.
Expect Lebron to retire at 45-46 also.
Isnt he technically the only player ever to play in a 23rd year between the draft class and the year he played this game? I know he played 21 seasons but 2007 minus 1984 and I’m pretty sure its the 23rd year
He did retire in 2006 for a bit. Then returned for the 07 season, other than that it would technically be 23 seasons.
I believe he had a injury in 89, so it also discounts the 23 years unfortunately
Damn LeBron can for sure play another 6 years then that's crazy
T-rex!!!
I feel like as he got older is arms got shorter.
That's an illusion caused from them getting wider
You noticed that too? He's always has short arms though. Not quite Ceelo Green but close.
Poor Benoit Benjamin would like a featured game
I actually have plans for a Benoit Benjamin video.
Don't let us forget the great Sam Bowie also!
Do you have a link?
Kevin Willis...The old, poor man's Hakeem Olajuwon.
Hella disrespectful
🤣
