I worked for the Blazers, in the marketing department, during these years. I was part of the team that ordered the dolls. There were also dolls of other players but we might not have given them out that night. We were so proud of them and they were expensive to produce. That fans really seemed to like them. We were watching on a monitor in the Rose Garden when the fans started throwing them on the floor. I thought I was going to throw up. I had to be talked off the ledge when I saw a guy with a pushbroom cleaning them off the floor. The call was BS though.

I know this is old but I will say this. When I saw this live, I thought that this was the best move Pippen did for the team.
He threw the ball after he saw the first tech that was handed down and he then threw the ball so Rasheed Wallace would stay in the game.
People have to remember that the Blazers really didn't have a true big man at this time since Sabonis retired. They had Rasheed, Dale Davis, and Kemp going against a true center at this time that will get everyone in foul trouble. It was worth the Blazers losing Pippen and replacing him with a Patterson, Bonzi Wells, Derek Anderson than losing Sheed and the Blazers won the game.

FromSouthforkTexas Even still, was that an agreeable 3 second call off of a first touch pass? I didn't even count a second go by before he thought of moving.

darkvanilla187 Yeah I watched the game Live too. It was one of many horrible calls. It was as if Pippen knew he was being cheated and it didnt matter.

To be fair, that 3sec def violation call was bs too. He clearly steps out of the paint, therefore a reset.

That was part of that three yr span the nba cheated for the la fakers. Let's post clips of those phantom 27 4th quarter fouls they called on the kings in the west finals.

The refs always seemed to be in the corner of the Shaq-era Lakers when the playoffs came around. All the critical playoff games in the late 90's involving the Lakers always had horrible officiating favoring the Lakers. This is just another example.

the ref messed up. because you don't go according to a players 1,2,3 count or hand gestures. The ref is supposed to count 1,001; 1,002; 1,003, then call 3 seconds. Plus, it looks like Scottie stepped out of the key then back in.

This really is a phenomenal reminder of how they don't make the NBA like they use to. So many classic things happened in such a short time span. From Pippens hilarious over reaction and his side of the story being "this some bullshit" to Wallace finally saying what the rest of the world has been thinking for years "ugly ass Bill Walton". I have liked this video and will now place it in my favorites.

First Horry counts it for the official...who isn't even counting himself (at 0:04), and THEN he tells the ref to throw Pippen out the game with the hand gesture (at 0:11), which he does.

You’re giving these fuks way too much credit and power. They are most likely told which team to call the game for. In this case LA. Whatever brings in the most $$$$ to the league and it sure isn’t Portland, Oregon.
