BTW you really made a good point about the undated book "feeling not permanent". I attempted to plan in an A6 Stalogy (not journal or memory keep but strictly plan) and I really didn't like it and I think that is the feeling I had. I like having a dated planner because it feels more permanent and definitive rather than just like unstructured and ephemeral
Agree with the recommendations for the Sterling Ink Daily planner which I have been eyeing up for journalling. It seems really versatile. I have used their common planner since early 2024 and loved it and will be sticking with it as soon as I can pick a size for next year haha It's my back up ride or die main planner. But I also have a deep love for the MD paper and am also considering the 1 day per page planners, in a5 or a6... and even though I dont think I could handle the chunk I am so tempted by the hibino which is 2 days per page in a6.
I really enjoyed you walking us through your thought process. I picked up the A6 in March and have been loving it for my daily micro journaling. So now I'm getting a Papertess A6 (yes, now she's doing an A6 weekly!) to use as my one and only book. To me, A6 is that goldilocks size that looks good both full and (almost) empty and that fits in all my purses. I've been a Weeks (Hobo or SI) user for years, but I have less time for personal stuff now so the pages feel too big. If I can help it, I'll never use anything other than TRP the rest of my life. ❤ Looking forward to watching you work out your 2025 lineup and test a bunch of things for us. 😊
i like the sketchbook idea! last yr i copied the ours research diary layout in the weeklies and did some an art challenge prompt each day - it was pretty fun! or you can always use the weeklies if you want a bigger space to draw
Nothing wrecks my motivation like a big gap of blank pages, and I always fall off the horse a few times a year. I can see the satisfaction of hitting the mark day after day, like jumping hurdles, but missing 5 in a row is discouraging and tough on the shins.😅 Its a good goal to attempt once I'm a little more reliably consistent.
Thank you for showing how your Codex pages are layer out I suck at layouts but I love the idea of the Midori codex because I don’t need a schedule for everyday and I do a lot of journaling I’d rather just smash them into one book for the entire year in a book that’s a free canvas but I’ll probably end up sticking with the decision to get a A5 Sterling Ink but the codex is really calling me loudly ❤😂
Those nails are on point!!! I’m doing one more set of summer colors and then it’s Fall time!! LOL I really liked the Midori book. I’m hardcore team cream and love the TRP in cream that I get for my TN and in the weeks, but Midori paper is a bit more fountain pen friendly.
Have you seen or considered the sterling ink daily dated planner? She has an ‘undated’ one in her shop- it’s JUST dailies that are predated 👀 Maybe it has monthlies, I can’t recall, but it’s primary function is just a day per page. And no weeklies 😊
If not there are the hobonichi dupes like the kinbor planners - not sure what the paper is but it’s pretty thin as well and only the monthly and the dailies - comes in a5 and a6
I like using the word archive. I’ve been calling what I want to do next a journal/memory keeper/planner, although I don’t think much planning will be going in to it . I’ve got an a6 Stalogy365 because I really like the a6 Hobonichi but I don’t like all the extra pages. So it will be mostly dailies with a few other things that I haven’t sorted out yet. I was watching another RUclipsr and she was talking about using a notebook to record happenings leading up to her 48th birthday and she’s calling it Project 48. That gave me another idea for this new journal, I think I might call it Project 49 because I turn 49 next week and I’d like to document things going on in my life and in the world, in the year leading up to my 50th birthday next year. (It’s really hard to think about turning 50, I’m not looking forward to it.)
I love seeing you use the A6 hobonichi! (Even though I think all spreads you create in any journal look great). You make me want to try an A6 so bad 😂😅
Chappell Roan spotted! I’m loving using the A6 Hobonichi too because the size helps me not get overwhelmed but im considering the A5 next year because i find some of my daily ephemera doesn’t fit in the smaller hobonichi but I’m still undecided
Loved this video a lot! Please do a full flip through of the A6 techo when you can. 😍 For 2025 I'm going full A6 Hobonichi with the Techo Original for memory keeping on the dailies and future log on the monthlies + the A6 Weeks Accessory for planning (as I plan best in the weeklies). And then a couple of the A6 Plain Notebooks for trackers and collections/notes. I'd love to see you in Pocket rings + A6 Techo Original for 2025, but it's most important what you feel best about, so do your thing and as always Thank you for sharing your process with us. 💚
I totally agree - I just started in a Hobonichi cousin and was feeling the right column was a bit too wide.. I saw Elle from 'the common corner' using a margin to make it look more agreeable.. I may give that a go.. I like the midori though!
Love the look of you're A6. My mind definitely tries to figure someting out right now to use a hobonichi A6 for lol. Even though I'm using a 18 month weekly moleskine at the moment. Which I really want to fill out till Dec 2025. Also definitely feeling the hobonichi release hype 😂😅
Midori Codex is divine. I love dating it myself and going with the flow. But that's just me I don't like being held to a particular order of things it's just a gorgeous notebook
I’ve discovered that vertical weeklies just don’t work for me. They are so aesthetically pleasing when I use all my cute stickers, but became tedious and redundant for me. I’m moving to Plans by Just Scribble for 2025 because it has a horizontal weeklies option. And yesss Hobonichi reveal hype is so real!! They def got me with that Yumi Kitagishi collection lol.
I just pre-ordered the Midori Hibino. I like the A6 size of my HON, but I feel like one page a day is too cramped, so I'm looking forward to having a 2 page spread. The cream pages are also a plus!
I presonelly struggle badly with the weeklies in my cousin last year, but this year (since june; i didn't start with a cousin in january), I'm really loving them ! I use them to record what happened in my day (like a mix between a log and some memory keeping), but its pretty loose and dont really full, which i learned to like ... this way, i can see a quick recap of the weeks, but most of my memory keeping are in my daily ... Its similar to how you used it the former years but less "full" i use it like a more in deep index
Hey Lindsey, have you ever done a video going into how you do photo prints for your planners? I find that really intimidating. I’ve tried in the past to print some photos but I just used regular paper and it didn’t turn out amazing. Do you have any recommendations on tools? And your system of marking what images to print and how you edit/size things? Let me know if this is something you’ve already talked about somewhere! Love your content!
It sounds like you may enjoy Sterling Ink’s new Daily Planner (not the Common Planner). The layout is like the Hobo a6 Techo with a yearly index, monthlies, and dated dailies. They come in b6 and a5. I think that’s what I’m getting next year as well. I don’t have a lot of use for weekly pages.
I've only used the weeks from hobonichi, but I've had my eye on their a6 myself. It just seems like a great size! Also, what are your tips for someone who wants to try out rings for planning but has no idea where to start or how to set it up?
I enjoy having a Cousin b/c it being dates for every day kind of makes me feel compelled to journal, but I dont like the inflexibility in having the 1 page per day. I love the MD paper also, but I really prefer white paper over cream, but the writing experience on MD is so excellent. I recently tried Stalogy and I really really love those notebooks. My favorite part is the really durable, single piece plastic cover, which you can easily archive with a Silver Sharpie. I also like LT1917 b/c it has the page numbers but the Maruman Mnemosyne put out a journal recently and I really want to try it! Its pricey but its got 200+ pages, white paper, and page numbers 🎉. Sorry for ranting in your comments also, but I am going through a bit of a notebook crisis myself
There *is* something about Midori. I got the MD B6 Slim Notebook Diary as a book journal for 2025. (Ok, the initial impulse was to use it as a planner but I can't give up my Weeks -- especially now that I've seen the grey.)
Have you thought about the daily planner from sterling ink for 2025? It has only months and days, no weeks. It seems like it would be perfect for memeory keeping. I think it comes in A5 or B6?
Have you looked at the new lineup for Sterling Ink? Just saying because they have a Daily planner that has just the monthly and daily in it. I used to be a solid hobonichi planner for everything but I am a committed Sterling Girl now!
Why not try the weekly to record Win, what you’re grateful for, how you made a difference, what you’re looking forward to tomorrow, what you want to do differently tomorrow or any other quick daily note or memory? You can probably keep them at or around the time it occurred to you/happened. 2c worth.
All great ideas! I considered doing a quick morning brain dump in them / morning pages too. Just trying to decide if there’s something I’d like to record vs recording bc the space is un used if that makes sense! I’ll have to ponder 💕
Hi!! Thank you for sharing this video!☺ Ive just started getting into memory keeping but I am having trouble with products. Would you be able to send me links to the Midori md codex a5 and the clear cover that goes with it, pretty please?🥰 Im having trouble finding it. I had bought a Midori notebook, but it doesnt have as many pages as the one you described here. I also bought a clear cover but it doesnt fit the notebook I bought because its too thick for it.😣 Im on the struggle bus over here lol. 😅Any help would be greatly appreciated!! 💓💓
Love to see Felix
💕 he’s found a home in all my notebooks at this point 😅
exactly what I was going to say, lol. Stayville Representing!
Just here to express my full support for that amazing thumbnail LMAO
🤣💕 thank you, thank you!

I was going to mention the SI daily also. Xx
This is so gorgeous, I love your aesthetic in your journals 😊😊
Another good idea might be the Midori Hibino. It's A6 size but two pages per day. :)
My wish of all wishes is an A6 techo in cream TRP like in the weeks. That midori codex looks amazing!
Love how your a6 hobonichi pages look!! So prettyyy❤❤

I just preordered the hemlock and oak daily duo. No quotes or weekly pages so I’m super excited to try it out ❤

Oh I haven’t seen that one! I’ll have to take a look 👀
I am also considering this one! If it comes out in Mulberry A5, it’s a done deal
If not there are the hobonichi dupes like the kinbor planners - not sure what the paper is but it’s pretty thin as well and only the monthly and the dailies - comes in a5 and a6
@@lindseyscribbles if you end up liking the paper it would suit that daily memory keeping archive style!
Oooh would love to see Lindsey try a common planner! I love my N2H, considering trying B6 Slim Horozontal though… 🤔

Sterling ink A5 daily dated. Look into it. Dark grey. Only dated daily pages... May just be your perfect planner! Im excited for it!!
was just coming here to suggest this same planner!

I also decided to move to the A6 techo for memory keeping next year, the cousin is just too much space for me...
Have you seen Fleurir Lab's A6 daily dated with cream sanzen paper?
Have you looked at the new lineup for Sterling Ink? Just saying because they have a Daily planner that has just the monthly and daily in it. I used to be a solid hobonichi planner for everything but I am a committed Sterling Girl now!
Have you seen/considered the Twines & Paper Hybrid A5 for 2025!? I think it's an amazing layout! ❤
They make a 2025 edition of this it has dated months and undated days a only a small amount of structure so you can do what you want
Why not try the weekly to record Win, what you’re grateful for, how you made a difference, what you’re looking forward to tomorrow, what you want to do differently tomorrow or any other quick daily note or memory? Sterling Ink is dropping dated dailies in b6 and a5. No weeklies, just monthlies and dailies.
MD also has a dated daily in a5 and a6.
