It is really helpful how you explain how to use this planner. I just bought this planner and don’t know how to start, your rundown how to use it really helps. Thank you so much!
Your content makes me so happy! I bought the spring fabric cover for my cousin and I take it everywhere with me. I’m so glad I found this channel and these books, I’ve always struggled with sticking to a routine but now I’ve saved $2000 and lost 10lbs by using my cousin. It’s changed my life because I’m excited about using it. Thank you!
This video is extremely helpful! Your systematic use of the monthly, weekly, and daily is outstanding! This is my first year using Hobonichi planners so it’s fair to say I have watched a BAZILLION videos and this is the first one I’ve seen or understood how it all ‘flows’ together! I just moved into an April start Weeks ! I am still using my cousin but felt I needed a fresh start to this year. After watching I feel equipped to be successful in using the Weeks and clearing my mind of the to do’s or fear of losing track of a to do! Thank you ❤
Just to set your mind at ease, the Sneaker covers are very resilient. I don't take particular care of my planners and one survived a year with me, without any protective cover.
Honestly the only reason I stick with one planner to make it work every year is I just can’t afford to buy more than one good planner… either buy something on the cheaper side and use the rest of my planner budget for the year on accessory/stickers or vice versa. And I always get stickers lmao. This year is the hobo weeks and thank god I’m loving it.
i recently switched up my planner system too. was in an A6 stalogy for minimalist planning and journaling when i realized i missed the decorating and ephemera and leather system of a traveler’s notebook. i feel awful abandoning my stalogy but im looking forward to how my TN system allows me to be more creative and carefree with the stickers and stamping and tip ins. kudos to you for backlogging all your previous notes!
I’m glad you recognized what you were missing out on. As much as I long a streamlined system - there has to be some sort of fun element or it sort of loses some of the magic I think. Hope you enjoy being in your travelers notebook 💕
I can relate... I started the year with the Hobonichi A6 and the weekly supplement. Then I realised it was too small so I went with the Cousin and the standard Weeks. That didn't work, the Cousin was too big and heavy and I couldn't get all I needed into the Weeks. So now on April 1st I'm using the Sterling Ink B6 common planner. That's working for now as the size is right. And I'm still halfheartedly using the Weeks as it's easy to carry around. None of this is particularly unusual I suppose, except I've been doing the exact same thing every single year since 2014. I must have tried every planner that ever existed and I still can't get it right!!
Oh gosh I relate to that so much 😅 I’m ready to feel “settled” into a system for multiple years. But I also know I love the challenge of tackling a new planner just as much as being comfortable in one so it’s always a toss up
Just here to say that I love your videos and I thank you for letting me know Hobonichi Weeks Mega exsisted! I've been using it for the first time this year and I love it!
What can we do when something isnt working and there is better out there. I've used three and sticking with Hobo weeks as my third and last for 2023. It's good to see Mega though.
I keep trying to the leave the weeks for the A6. The weeks is a nice size and I can get everything in it. I have the red sneaker weeks in the Notte cover. The Notte cover is the icing on the cake for me. I will challenge myself to stay in the weeks all of April. (OH BOY!!)
Will you explain in more detail your printing-for-Weeks supplies, specifically printer and paper (and ink, if different to spec.), and what you use to paste-into the book? Thanks, and sorry if you have done so previously and I missed it. ❤
Thank you for sharing! I love what you did with the back of the planner notes section! I am considering getting the mega next year to use the note section as my journal to keep everything in one spot.
I am *so* unsettled with my planner Hobonichi use this year. I’m usually using two with 80% efficacy and “peace/happiness”, but I just can’t settle. (Usually one with Menu plan/log, and another “self-care and etc.”) to begin with, none of the covers were right enough for me in terms of color and style-e.g. the right colors were the wrong styles when it comes to the weeks. I tried going with a “just for now” of using my yellow one for self care, and the teal bow and tie with food icons on it for food-BUT, I kept writing menus in the yellow without realizing it was not the menu planner! (I usually use red for menus; appetizing. Yellow is also too appetizing for evening self care planning, apparently. Also, teal is categorically the worst color to represent food. (Or tied for worst). This may be “too picky”, but I bet you can understand with how you are about ink usage/match in the Weeks! Somehow, I need to get my business sorted. I also feel anxious, and my brain can really only do one thing at a time. Right now, it’s full of gardening-but what about car maintenance and grocery shopping and, as you say, receipt submissions?! 😭 I don’t think these things are hard…it’s just hard to keep them in RAM; tbh we’re not meant to. We (humans, I) need a system and then run it! Your spot illos are looking really nice. It IS amazing what a Weeks can fit; just an excellently proportioned tool.
I really enjoyed this! Can you please go over some of your task lists? I know I need to do things but can never remember everything to plan out (for example change air filter)
i feel you on this, I got the hobonichi cousin in january but the a5 format dailies are too big for me to fill up as I use their 5 year diary for journalling, and im not actually liking the vertical weekly spreads... So I ordered the weeks yesterday because i was thinking of using it exactly as you are! The April start doesn't come in a mega format, but at least it won't be backdated either 😅 I also contemplated the original a6 in combination with the weeks, but i think i'll try the notes in the weeks for dailies first (and i like the idea of it all being in one planner)
Ugh, you make me fall back in love with my Hobonichis with every video, thank you for the upload! :) I've recently picked up the weekly companion to add to my Cousin/Weeks Mega, and it's so tiny and perfect for memory keeping!
Question about your pilot vanishing point! I am reading reviews and hear a bit about the pen having a small reservoir and that it can leak in some cases. Someone recommended changing the twist converter to a Con-20 instead of the Con-50. What's your experience with this pen? I see it all the time in your videos, and I love the look (as I am also a huge fan of fountain pens) - do you have any recommendations or anything to suggest?
Love this video! I think it’s my first time watching one of your videos and I loved how clearly you explained your process. It was really helpful! I look forward to watching more ❤
I use my Google calendar if I’m out and about to quickly voice note reminder of something coming up, but I have to write it in my planner or I won’t remember until the day of the appointment or event.
Ohhh! I got a lot of ideas from this one. I’ve been using a plum paper, but don’t like carrying it as much as my HW. I need to learn how to write small! I love writing my daily in the HW! Do you ever use an hourly day page spread to plug in the daily tasks? I’ve just started doing this in a spiral notebook. It helps me to stay realistic. ☺️
i have a kikki K i dedicate to video game stuff! it used to be one section but it became too big so i had to make it its own thing. sadly i dont have a printer so i just write everything down or draw the maps by hand.
I've fallen behind in my weeks over the last couple of months but want to get back into it and do some backlogging as well. As someone who got super into watercolor for a while before completely abandoning it, I love your idea to use watercolor while decorating the weeks! I will definitely have to try that! Do you find that the pages hold up well to the watercolors? With the sheets being so thin I'm concerned it could leak through.
OK - the Stardew Valley guides are genius! I'm totally adding this to my Weeks too. But -- how did you get such clear printing on the text?? Mine is pretty fuzzy aha.
Hi, do you write in your weeks whilst being in the notte cover? I just bought a sneaker weeks and wondering whether the zipper of the notte cover gets in the way when writing in it?
I have not, only the passport size - but I really like those. The card stock on the inserts is pretty thick so I don’t think I’d like it tucked behind the back cover of a hoboncihi but I think they’d make great companion books
@@lindseyscribbles I did think that too about the covers being quite thin. I will be ordering some for next year though. I have a Hobo Mega now but next year I think I will get the standard size Hobo & one of the Good Inkpressions hobo sized insert for travel journaling 🤷🏼♀️
I usually hang onto them if I think there’s a chance I’ll move back in / would still work for me. Otherwise I usually get rid of them bc I don’t want the temptation (particularly if I’m leaving bc something wasn’t working) I understand feeling guilty when you abandon a notebook! They’re pretty, and sometimes expensive. It’s gotten easier for me to let that go as I’ve learned where I feel creative / inspired is more important to me long term. But it’s always a balance that I’m still learning

Awww 🥹 thank you so much for share. And congratulations on your accomplishments! I’m glad you’re loving your planner and the magic is happening

I second that! I stuffed my Mega to the rim and the cover held up nicely!
Thanks for sharing! Need all this reassurance bc I’m a bit of a tornado with my belongings 😬

Amen 😂

Same with the digital calendar, literally empty bar the meeting invites I receive. Analogue for the win!

Love this! I'm gonna be starting a new job this coming Monday and will likely set up one of my weeks (LOL) to be my new work planner.
Thank you! Congrats on the new job! I love using my weeks for work so hope that works for you
Love this kind of content from you ❤

Your Stardew Valley Gift Guide might be the best thing I've ever seen. 😍🙂 I don't even play it but that makes me want to start.
😂 it’s an addicting game. And my absolute favorite

What kind of printer did you use for the webtoon? The quality is phenomenal!

prob have to edit a high quality image
Hi, do you write in your weeks whilst being in the notte cover? I just bought a sneaker weeks and wondering whether the zipper of the notte cover gets in the way when writing in it?
Hi Lindsey! How is your task list in the back of the week's book different from your task list during the week pages?
Hi Lindsey, have you ever ordered the Hobonichi sized notebooks from Good Inkpressions?
I have not, only the passport size - but I really like those. The card stock on the inserts is pretty thick so I don’t think I’d like it tucked behind the back cover of a hoboncihi but I think they’d make great companion books

Where did you get your little clear pocket in the very front
it came with my hobonichi weeks!
whats the webtoon your reading it looks cute
It’s called “my reason to die”
@lindseyscribbles when you switch, what do you do with the unfilled planner?
not knowing what to do w/ that gives me too much anxiety to switch 😣
I usually hang onto them if I think there’s a chance I’ll move back in / would still work for me. Otherwise I usually get rid of them bc I don’t want the temptation (particularly if I’m leaving bc something wasn’t working)

You can try to give it to somebody else who wants to move into it. So no waste and you made someone else lucky. 😊
Are you still using your Cousin at all? Or is the Weeks Mega a total replacement for the cousin?
I’m still using the cousin - I consider it not of a journal / archiving notebook. Where the weeks is my planner
Mega only comes in Japanese right?
I think it came in English as well but it’s been awhile since I looked at the website
It also comes in English :) (the source being me I have one 😂)
Just a question, but doesn’t everyone use the monthly part of a planner to plan future events I mean am I missing something?
I got the cousin but let me tell you every time I see these I want one 😅
Hi Lindsey! Would you be open to a crafty content collaboration? If so, do you have an email I could reach out to with more info? Thanks!
This is helpful! Thanks 🤍
And visually satisfying!
