For those of you who don’t know, Bolo Yeung is still alive and well as of late 2019, just before the Covid pandemic sltarted. He lives in my city and I used to see him walking down the street in my hood. He is not as buff as he was, but still very muscular for someone in his 80’s. A friend of mine who also lives in my area mentioned that he still works out at our local LA Fitness. In fact this friend ran into Bolo a few times at this gym and he even asked my friend to spot him. By all accounts, he is a very reserved and quiet person and not like the character on screen. Maybe someday if I meet him again, I will ask him if he and Lee really fought off screen.

Yes, you’ve touched on several good points about Bruce such as his understanding of body mechanics, being a trained dancer, and I could add; a great boxer and wrestler ( he demonstrated these two techniques in ETD movie), which brings me to your last valid point about the many myths surrounding Bruce Lee because ETD was one of his movies that started a lot of myths and I think that this is some of the reasons why he was so misunderstood. I recall in an interview that one of his personal desires and plans was to straighten out those myths once he established himself and tell his own true story through future movies had he not died so young. *Thanks for your valid points!

Yes, he didnt knew to fight, and reason why he was fast, from what i can conclude, is that he mostly trained like 3-4 basic attacks, that are most effective, until he mastered them, while other people train 10 or more attacks and they are average in them.

Hey Man I didn’t get your name, but thanks to Goldenbell Training for this commentary about the million dollar question: Why Bruce and Bolo didn’t fight in ETD. I remember literal intense excitement and anticipation when watching ETD in the theater for the first time! While I was overwhelmingly excited and satisfied with what was Bruce Lee’s overall best performance (my opinion); my only disappointment was that missing fight and I knew then like I still know these days that I wasn’t the only person on the planet who felt that way. I’m still not really sure about a lot of what’s true or not concerning Bruce because there’s megatons of rumors about His life personally and professionally, but thanks for your commentary because it made a little more sense than what I’ve heard in quite some time. I learned some new info and recalled info that I heard before or forgot. If Bruce hadn’t died so young and early, I’d still be looking for that fight with Bolo in latter movies because I surely believe that He had big expectations and plans due after the phenomenal success of Enter The Dragon, (this title interprets that He really was just getting started)! So in closing, thanks again for such great commentary! 🥋

Maybe a private light sparring session or exchange of techniques, but that's all I can imagine being possible. Also, I don't think Bruce was the kind of guy to judge Bolo as only a bodybuilder.
I don't think he was one to say someone was or wasn't a "real" martial artist. I think of Bruce as a guy who was a doer, not a talker in the sense that if he disagreed with someone's assertions, he wouldn't just talk about them to discredit them like say Steven Seagal would. I always got that same sense of character from Bolo as well. I never really took him as someone with a big ego.
I've never met either of these men obviously, but there's just some people who display their strength of character in such a way that you can kind of infer what they were and/or are probably like just from what you have seen of them, you know? I don't claim to be right in my assessments, but I do think both Bruce and Bolo can kind of be seen outwardly for their noble aspects.

He died in 1973, 50 years ago now. If still still alive he'd be 83 today.
I hate it how fools say he wouldn't win in an MMA match.
First he wasn't into sports fights as he personally stated.
Although he did help many others like Chuck Norris and Joe Lewis who dominated the fighting sports at the time.

He was phenomenal for his time period.
Read his writings (some that come from his notes, etc). Like how he figured out how do to feints, how to move without showing a tell.
That he figured out how to strike with a direct motion with out body windup, but add body twist at end just before the strike, etc.
Not to say he necessarily invented it all. He studied fencing to learn about the fine arts of feints. Got a lot from Joe Louis's books. One was his favorite.
In my profession, I'm considered an expert. I don't call my self that, but it's what people tell me. I'm constantly getting after it, I dedicate myself to it. Like Bruce did, I read a lot, see what others are doing, experiment, learn.
I know though, there are better people than me out there. That's just the way it goes.

@@Futureflow77 a Winston Cigarette ad apparently:
“DT: I heard this from Bolo when I interviewed him.But he told me this was not ETDrelated, but a year previous and that was their first meeting and how they got to know one another.Bolo told me that Bruce was not in the commercial,he was, but Bruce somehow had something to do with the promotion of the product.”

@Sir_Richard_Stewart I just got finished saying the same exact response, and he got upset over it🤣🤣🤣 I exposed him for being a liar, and if he doesn't take this video down soon, I'm going to flag it and copy this video and post it all across social media.

It's crazy how some people will just make up stories or take any source as legit, especially talking about people they don't deserve to be associated with and would never be in the same room. Speaking of which Bruce was too good for this world.

Bolo always said Bruce Lee is good. Not one time did he ever say he could beat him in any known interview. Bolo has a reputation as an excellent martial artist and the average man wouldn't want to get in his way. Infact many martial artists wouldn't want to get in his way. But never has he in any interview claimed to be able to beat Bruce and seems to talk about him with reverence. 🙏 Peace
