I know that this a technological ticking time bomb, but I love these things. The twin turbo 3.0L V6, rear wheel steering, advanced awd, heads up display, great luxury features, etc.
I freaking love the CT6. The looks, the stance, the whole idea (rear wheel drive Euro competitor) of this car is slick. I often wonder about the people who purposely purchased CT6 brand new. It was flamboyant, flashy and sinister looking. I think those people have incredible sense of style. I'm not talking about older people who just purchased it because it was a big Cadillac (the XTS audience). More so people who have a keen eye, similar to Audi A7 audience or something. GM is stupid to get rid of it and change Cadillac's marketing/leadership - the Dare Greatly campaign fit the CT6 era perfectly.
It's a good looking car for sure. The Germans and Japanese and Koreans are doing fine with luxury sedans, it's another stupid GM decision to leave that market.
There is just no way this car can compete with Mercedes S Class or other German luxury sedans lol. Hell it can’t even compete with the E Class which is a midsize sedan. I love Cadillac but it’s a good decision that they discontinued the CT6, honestly I’ve never seen a CT6 here in Canada
@@bwofficial1776 They could not compete and they realized it and discontinued this car. In my opinion, they need a car that was a step upmarket from this one if they really wanted to compete with the Germans...so you have to ask yourself, was there a market for a $130-140K Cadillac sedan in the same vein as the Mercedes S class
You know we live in sad automotive times when you can't get a large Cadillac or Lincoln. Soon there will be no standard transmissions, coupes or even pony cars. The 2020's will go down as Malaise era II
I purchased one of these with the 3.6L used in 2022 since we had some significant long trips in our future. 25K later I can say it's the perfect road trip / long commute car, pulls almost 30mpg on the highway with the size to carry 3 passengers and their luggage very comfortably. The adjustable climate settings/rear shade and wi-fi hotspot are big hits as well. Plus since it's American the depreciation made it very affordable, so far it's been 100% reliable. A big fan!
This is a good looking car, especially in black. I like large angular cars like this and the Lincoln Continental. The Germans and Japanese and Koreans are doing fine with sedans, even though Cadillac isn't a big player anymore it seems silly to walk away from that slice of the market. With better marketing and quality they could remain competitive. But hey, that's GM for you. And Ford. You know what would be funny? One of these on an Escalade frame. Give it the raised stance and big wheels and big grille like the President's limo. Toyota's trying the lifted sedan SUV thing with the new Crown, why not Cadillac?
If you can, watch Alex on Auto's review of the CT6. He gives details of the perceived competition to this, including the 5 series and E class, and the Lexus LS460.
Beautiful sedan and I am on my third CT6. Sadly, the quality just isn't there anymore and these things are prone to transmission, electrical and build quality issues.
My first two CT6's were back in 2017, both returned after transmission replacements each failed. The '19 has had its wiring harness replaced twice. As I said, it's a beautiful sedan but the quality is only skin deep. As these things age, the ownership experience could be a challenge.
You showed a CTS, which is a midsize sedan, which is the direct Predecessor to the CT5, a very luxurious sedan in its Platinum Trim which comes with magneride
As much as I liked the Cadillac CT6 I do understand that GM wants to build cars that sell well - and that's Not big, comfortable sedans. The cars that built Cadillac in the past do not drive industry sales anymore and the competition among SUV's and crossovers is brutal. Cadillac is charting a new course with cars whose names end in, "IQ".
@@samspade8830 Mercedes will sell about 10,000 S class sedans in the United States this year While I do agree that SUv's are the biggest growth market....what Mercedes has done with an over $100K sedan is quite notable
The could've gave it a more powerful option. Great car anyway. Cadillac had technologies that other car companies are just starting to use like quadrasteer which is four wheel steering just now showing up in the likes of BMW and others. As well as night vision and Magnetic ride control which is being used in Ferrari
What's wrong with a BIG floaty sedan? Not everybody loves those small scrunched up compact crossover vehicles most people are driving these days. Also, what would a car look like if you built one? And have you tried to build one?
owned 2 ct6s loved them both.....its sad that automakers think everyone wants suv box with a wheezy 4 cylinder boring ass engine..the CT6 was amazing in ride and handling and was a luxurious car in the same vein as the Fleetwood; mine had the twin turbo v6, and it had more than enough power. Dont care about having an suv, i dont haul crap, they remind of the 1980s station wagons..ugly and dull
Dittos - LUV the CT6! Why anyone in their right mind would cancel this gem is beyond me. BMW still has their 7 series so why has GM turned tail an run from the 4 door sedan market? No, everyone does NOT need/want an SUV. Plus, the SUVs are getting smaller too. GM, you have lost my business and my purchasing sphere of influence to new buyers for the foreseeable future. (MBA speak) Technical clarification - it's not really a full sized car. That is unless "full sized" has been redefined as meaning that you can comfortably fit four 95%+ adult males. Yep, there is a lot of redefining going on these days but back to the car. So comfortable. Nice toys. SuperCruise is nice but if you have a car like this, are you really going to let a computer drive it? yeah... didnt think so. Enjoy the ride. Great for those on the go. Fits my 70" waterski thru the back. Sound is great. Speed is nice but it's not meant to be a neck breaker (that's the blackwing version).
10:37 Wow. Maybe sedans as we know them were the fad. If that's a sedan I think crossovers were around long before what we think of as a sedan. That looks like a crossover.
I think Cadillac has discontinued making sedans as they are no longer popular and only make crossover/SUVs. Ford, GM & Chrysler have been cancelling sedans
The sedan market isn't as big as it used to be but the Germans and Japanese and Koreans have no problem selling sedans across the price range. It seems stupid for Ford and GM to just throw their hands up and walk away from that market.
That's not a Cadillac, that's an Impala with chrome accents. The tail lights are a give away that it's an Impala. Why do GMC SUVs have Cadillac tail lights?
do some research before you make an unfounded comment....this is not an Impala, and the question is does the Chevy have caddy tail lights, not the other way around...
Love the Cadillac CT6. Bad timing ( Covid ) , poor marketing ( people didn't grasp what it was with the weak Aplha Nurmeric name. ) They could of shared the platform for a Buick ' Roadmaster - Electra ' & built a shooting break , Crossover on the excellent platform. Shame, shame on GM for cancelation of this car for United States. NOT everyone wants a Crossover- SUV. The foreign males continue theres , thank goodness.
Was planning on buying one but jus wit the interior intro /features I'll pass. To much computer control assist this/that built in camera (no privacy) built in amazon alexsa assistant (don't trust that) never cared for. Nice car but not worth it
