I worked with kids, babies, and newborns for half a year, at a pediatrics clinic, and i can say this is the best baby ive ever seen, he/she behaves perfectly, so chill.
In retrospect, I miss the more laid back nature of the runs in older marathons, but I appreciate some advancements such as making the play area bigger, limiting donation comments, being courteous when reading, limiting crowd noise so you can actually hear commentary and giving the runner/couch mics. I don't like how strict and drama filled the new events are, though.
I like how people mention X6 and then X7 as the terrible ones, and just pretend that the series ends at X7. No one even talks or makes mention of X8, a shame. X8 is easily my favorite of the X series. I thought it was a huge step forward, but no one seems to have given it a chance, because of X6 and X7. Or simply hate it for being different at all.
JinTekyta Honestly I liked X6, but with the technology at the time it couldn't even save your game with energy tanks refilled. I got sick of having to compensate for things like that, so I just stopped playing it upon reaching the Sigma stages.
JinTekyta X6: I like it but the only thing I just really hate is how Zero was revived, they could've explained it better.X7: No, just no. 3D is terrible, Axl is just too annoying, AND X IS NOT A STARTING CHARACTER! X8: Excellent, back to the 2d formula, Axl isn't much of a little kid anymore, & The voice acting is pretty good
Shard Gaming I personally think X6 is a terrible game, but that's more from a design standpoint, regarding level construction, the game's balance and weapons, Zero and the nightmare system. Granted, I played a LOT of megaman X6, honestly I played all the games a lot. X7 is the least fun. It's clunky, the 3D sections are boring at their best and vomit inducing at their worst. Axl is a terrible character, and the main character and you have to unlock X. In a MEGAMAN X game. So ultimately, I'll agree with you, I might not like X6, but at least it has some of the best music in the series. X7 couldn't even manage good music, for the most part. And yeah, in X8 Axl is a much more enjoyable character. I actually like him. The game feels good, the 3D style works with the 2D gameplay, and the fact that you can mix and match the armor parts for X was a great idea. And yeah, a lot of the voice acting was pretty decent overall.
The first one I played was the first X, so maybe that's why I didn't like X5 too much. It's not bad, but it's the one that I liked the least. X6-8 never happened in my eyes.
People use that logic for everything. It's weird. "I grew up with it so it's good". Like, what? Now, I actually do like X5 so I agree with OP. Just also saying I agree with you in that being a ridiculous reason for liking things.
@@NYCHeavyHitz212 dude my first one was X too but i freaking love x5, it's amazing, the true ending of the saga. Objectively x4 it's the best imo but x5 it's my favourite, besides x4 and x5 are about my boy Zero
I find the Sigma stages in X5 to be more enjoyable than X4's because X4 had barely any platforming challenges. The final stages of Mega Man games should be a final exam test of your abilities in both combat and platforming. X4 had a lot of combat, but not much else. Only the split paths before General were even remotely tricky to navigate.
+Crazy Legs X4: Phase 1: Meant to be stunlocked to death Phase 2: Extremely pattern-based, easy to manipulate Phase 3: Okay, that phase was cool. Except the vaccum attack. Way too hard to escape from. But the rest makes you use your surrounding quite well. X5: Phase 1: Similar to Sigma in X1 (except wall jumps are not his kryptonite anymore), very precision-based, does a good use of X's movement options. Phase 2: Has more and bigger attacks, bulky enough while not being annoyingly bulky, limits your room, but does so in a managable way, the only part that can be considered trully annoying is the virus blocks spawning on you. Nah, I wouldn't say that.
I just played through X4 for the first time. 100% both routes. The whole game is honestly pretty bland; beyond the obvious terrible voice acting and cutscenes, the levels are super straightforward and short, and the bosses are really easy. I don't understand the love for the game at all.
X8 isn't too bad. But I think the loss of faith happened around X6. You know, the game that should never have happened considering X5 was intended to be the end of the X series.
X8 is a damn good game. Don't listen to this guy. Your question was if anyone played X8 and...they honestly didn't. X8 sold 5000 copies. Yes. Five THOUSAND. That's pathetic.
16:45 I know this video is old, but after beating Dynamo or just quitting the game at any point, you can watch a full demo from the main menu (X in fire stage demo). Just be sure to watch all the demos until you find the fire stage before starting the run and press start immediately during the X & Zero Silhouette screen (NOT INTRO) this will keep the fire stage demo looped just in case you mess up on the run. This manipulates the rng success rate for the enigma shot. You'll get a guaranteed hit. 👍 Skip to 11 minutes in. They explain in better detail. ruclips.net/video/MjyDsA7wM8s/видео.html
I remember playing this on the PSX way back in the day, good memories. Except, out of all the times I played this game, that the enigma cannon ever worked. It always seemed to fail, I figured that was just a part of the story. Now I'm going to have to go back to the damn game and replay it to try and get the enigma cannon to work...
+Larry Johnson 2 Things, 1, make sure to grab all the Enigma Parts, 2, its horrible RNG, you are likely gonna have to take your second shot with the shuttle, but even that can fail with all the upgrades
I know there's kinda no point asking on such an old video, but does anyone know about the RNG manipulation for the shadow devil they were referring to around 41:00 , I run my own little category of this game, and knowing how to manipulate the shadow devil could save me some time.
Orange guy may be talkative, but it's not like he's saying stuff unrelated to the game. If youre at this level of gaming where frames and programming quirks are the issue, this is par for the course
For those of you who don't know the original voice actor of Claire Redfield, it's Alyson Court born and raised in Toronto. It turns out she portrayed Loonette the Clown in The Big Comfy Couch, which was quite phenomenal on Canadian TV at the time, and it's something I won't miss from my childhood.

I'm curious if there's a specific reason why he uses the Gamecube version of the collection instead of the PS2 version. Does the GCN one play smoother, or was it just because the inputs are easier on the Gamecube controller?
Is there an speedrun where you fire the enigma right after intro, hope for it to be success and then straight go to the Sigma stages getting ultimate armor to beat the bosses after stage 3? Just did it on my legacy collection version of X5 and it was a success on first try lol
Can we do an any% run of x5? That can easily be done under 20 minutes according to the in game timer. Mine was around 16 minutes on easy mode so I want to see what a professional can do on any%
Ultimate Armor makes that Sigma fight way easier. This one with the squares is probably the hardest. If you can get the gun to destroy the asteroid you can go to the sigma stage after 4 bosses, I always go through them as fast as possible to try and get that.
Correct me if I'm wrong, buuuut... Isn't it just faster and easier to complete the game with Zero's black armor and keep dash-slashing the bosses in the rematch?

I doubt anyone will believe this, but I accidentally had the Enigma Shot destroy the Colony using only the Crystal Ball. I just learned about the bad ending and wanted to try it, but I wanted Zero's jump spin from Slash Grizzly first.

I mean, its nice that they are donating, but the comments should be handled in a less disruptive way. like scrolling text on the screen or something like that.
X5 is a good game. Just trying to speedrun it is hard. But the game as a whole is still pretty good. Not my favorite of the X series or Mega Man games in general. Mine is either X1 or X4. But X5 is still pretty good.
to kill the space station, kill grizzly, then whale, then squid, and fire at the space station (don't grab upgrades) you'll have a very high chance of completely destroying the space station. i reccomend save first, keep reloading until it works

It's kind of a shame that you can just use Zero's saber to kill all of the Mavericks. I always thought it was cool to exploit their weaknesses. I know it's a speed run but still, the quickest way to kill a Maverick should be using their weakness IMO.
Chris B Yea, how it works is that Bosses only get I-Frames from the Saber is hit enough times consecutively, breaking up each attack with a dash means they slash uber fast and the boss never trips I-Frames
"So Sigma was the Grim Reaper in the last game and now he's an angel?"
"Yeah, and in the next game he's a hobo."

I think you're talking about Blueglass. He speedruns ecco the dolphin.
The topic says sneakytdkninja and its sneakydkninja in the video, good run tho!
Seriously, can someone explain WHY X5 was so bad?
It isn't. X6 and X7 are the bad ones.
FlyingNarwhalGames Yeah, X5 was one of my favorites, actually.
Let me rephrase my question: can someone explain why everyone thinks X5 was so bad?
candlewax122 some people just don't like how it changed some things from the original formula (two armor sets, levels, equipable upgrades, etc.)
Curious, because most gamers hate when a series doesn't do anything new.
Just proves my theory that gamers don't know what the hell they want.
candlewax122 yeah when its CoD they want change but when it comes to series like Mega Man and Pokémon then changeing anything is blasphemous.
I remember the final boss was bullshit that purple square energy attack was impossible to not get hit by unless you do it this way
Lol

hideofbeast destroys all Megaman games. Look him up. It's great stuff. I also agree with you. I wish X6 had won. X5 is rather boring.
I never understood why the Game Cube has the "nintendo" after when all the other nintendo consoles had the N in the start
It's kind of a shame that you can just use Zero's saber to kill all of the Mavericks. I always thought it was cool to exploit their weaknesses. I know it's a speed run but still, the quickest way to kill a Maverick should be using their weakness IMO.
+Chris B Well they are exploiting a trick in the coding of Boss I-Frames, for a normal run Weakness Weapon is king
Cloudmonkey oh see that's cool. Thanks for explaining
Chris B Yea, how it works is that Bosses only get I-Frames from the Saber is hit enough times consecutively, breaking up each attack with a dash means they slash uber fast and the boss never trips I-Frames
That guy in the orange shirt is so damn annoying.
+Ace C I though i was the only one who was like "DAMN SHUT UP YOU %$·"" ASIAN" Lol
Why?
Generally cross platform games ran best on the gamecube so its probably that
X does actually go maverick and zero has to hunt him down
When?
I just subscribed you enjoy. 2019 people. :-)
38:10 is cool
