AI or Midjourney isnt being creative in its truest sense because it essentially takes the artistic ideas from something to create it as its own new idea. True creativity is when people do something new, innovative and that has never been done before. Or think about how Midjourney isn't creative because of the art that it yields but rather because of the person who wrote the prompt.
This would have been accurate in 2019, but it ignores exponentials...right now GPT4's main limitation in terms of generality seems to be that we simply haven't built enough interfaces for it yet (ChatGPT being one of them)
GPT4 and ChatPGT works the same way as he described it in the video: based on pattern recognition, the software will return an output that it thinks is the best result. You might think it's intelligent, but it's actually just predicting what to say next (basically prompts -> ai gen art).
@@OmegaF77 The intelligence is latent in the ability to extract that pattern - and it's emergent abilities - from hyper compressed data You're also constantly predicting what's going to happen next, except that your predictions are tuned thru evolution and your personal experiences
Let’s be honest: in 2019 we were far away from AGI. What he got wrong though, is he doesn’t understand exponential progress. The progress from 1950-2012 has nothing on the progress from 2012-2023. Progress is exponential, as GPT 2 to GPT 3.5 has shown us.
Creative Jobs are the first among jobs getting replaced by AI like ChatGPT and Midjourney.

boy... this did not age well...
Thanks for your insight! Yes, he probably meant the difference between the Narrow AI and the General AI.
Hahah it’s like the worst call of 2021

This guy is no AI expert. Obviously he was just guessing based on his personal experience
Thanks for comment. He is not expert in AI but afaik he has invested in companies using or creating AI.
3.6
This is why you don’t listen to non experts
General AI is really far away from happening at the moment
