The thing about reading is the level of depth that can be achieved in a book format. And if you’re a voracious reader, you can read faster than you can listen to a podcast or consume an audiobook. Now life is very fast and competitive and Jp and host is right the opportunity cost of sinking hours into say far from the madding crowd or trollopes barchester towers is too high when you can speed read self help books or get the gist of ideas/philosophy from podcast and you tube clips.
