    • @mr8610
      @mr8610 3 года назад +4

      @@Blackocalypse Cummins was a 2015, and I absolutely HATED that transmission. It would lug so bad from 3rd to 4th that it would shake the truck at times.
      The Duramax was a 2018, the first year of the L5P and the power/trans was EXCELLENT comparative to the previous LML. However, that's where the pros (for me) ended. The interior was awful, the stitching was coming apart on the driver's seat and the piping on the leather was already started to wear off. Solid truck overall, the interior was just lacking.
      The Ford sold me though. The whole entire back row is the same width so I can easily fit 3 carseats across. The flat load floor in the rear is honestly a game changer for my family. We can fit all 3 kids and all our 3 dogs comfortably because it doesn't have a transmission hump. In both the Cummins and the Duramax our lab would constantly be pacing back and forth because she couldn't get comfortable. The engine and transmission combo is honestly the best out of the 3 in my opinion. The shifts are super smooth and I hear the 10 speed shifts are even smoother. The power is unreal, but the L5P Duramax isn't super far behind in terms of power.
      Now, the cons: the door panels don't line up. We looked at probably 10 trucks and they were all exactly the same. The leather has held up better than the Duramax so far, but it is SUPER prone to scratching. I have scratched a few deep gouges (not a tear thankfully) just from the clip on my pocket knife. Also, it's aluminum... which will be nice as far as rust goes, but it is INSANELY expensive to fix compared to good ol' steel.
      All in all, the Powerstroke just fit our family better and we like the overall power delivery and fit/finish better than the other two.
      I haven't had the pleasure of driving/testing a 2019+ Cummins yet, so I'm not sure if I am missing out or not... but we have loved this Powerstroke so much I'll find it hard to get rid of it.
      Trucks again were a 2018 2500 L5P, 2018 F350, and a 2015 Ram 2500

    Duramax out performs, out tows, better mpg, lasts longer, and is faster, and is easier to work on than the other two. The only one that comes close is a 12 valve old school Cummins and it’s half as good…I have yet to see either cummins or power stroke survive past 200,000 miles…meanwhile I haven’t seen a duramax with less than 500,000 miles and they all are still going strong…the shop I used to work at has worked on all of the above…just got done with 3 24 valve Cummins all blown up under 200,000 miles normal driving conditions, and had a power stroke that dropped and transmission and blew up under the same miles….the duramaxs come in for maintenance like brakes and oil changes and they are 500,000+ miles and they heavy haul hotshot all the time.

    I can respect your opinions about this and that. And I really love Ford Trucks except for their Diesel engines. I used to own 2008 F-350 6.4 liter diesel. I owned the truck for five years and last year I decided to sell it. The young guy who bought it from me drove it for four months or so and he told me that both of the upper and lower fuel pumps and all eight fuel injectors went out on it.
    He said that it cost him over 8 thousand dollars to fix it. I was like holy crap. So knowing that truck had catastrophic mechanical problems and combined with all the other horror stories from other people throughout the years, I’ve made up my mind that I will never fall into that trap myself. I feel sorry for what happened to that kid that bought my truck, but good grief I’m glad that it didn’t actually happen to me. I would have been furious
