Thank you! This is very helpful for those of us who don’t play our instruments as well as we’d like. I’d love to see more tips on how to simplify the handling of multiple takes.
One thing I’m getting from your videos is that you get a really good, full sound on tracks with only a very few tracks. I tend to go overboard with the number of tracks and this is a good lesson, that less is usually more
I end up watching these Kenny Gioia Reaper tutorials based on need, but pretty much every single one has significantly improved my understanding of this great DAW. One of these days I'm just going to buckle down and watch every single one of these. For what it's worth, Kenny - I'm not sure this is the case with every ADHD person out there, but your unusual speaking cadence works wonderfully for both separating and connecting the ideas being presented (in each sentence). Historically, it has sometimes been difficult for me tracking concepts. Something about your speaking rhythm just works. Is this something that learned, or does this come naturally?
Reaper is just amazing... Whatever you are trying to do generally it can do it..... And stuff you hadn't thought of... What would we do without Kenny... Had absolutely no idea looped recordings could be dragged up like that...
seeing these few recent videos, I think it makes more sense why you made a video on multi-track drum recording in Reaper such way you showed, but it makes me even more curious on what the optimal approach when editing and mixing such multi-track recording would be (aside from exploding the performance into tracks, folders etc..) ?
Kool, Kenny can you possible show us how to set up controllers?. I have a Push2 and an APC and my Keyboard set for Ableton for 24 faders and can move them and I can control 3 "devices" as well as move them around. I like it for a jam and certain things. I tried Kush audio plugins in Reaper and the Midi KB's controllers were seamless. But had little luck with the Push. First party issue? I'm sure someone has coded some recompile code...I hope? I know some people mod the Push2 and even play video games on it. But it would be awesome in Reaper as generally I trigger loops in the APC40 and do group mixes there, and use the Push for making beats, midi and midi bass lines, and the Push is set for recording Loops both Wave and midi. it's fast for me and creative as far as triggering alternate sample in the APC while I compare to the Beats and parts I am writing. Thanks again. Been waiting for this!!
Dear Kenny thanks! for lovely Reaper videos. I would request you to show if thers any way we can extract just chords from an audio file or song in reaper. just like in Chordify app save as midi. which saves just Chords data as midi file. many Thanks.
Let me check if I understand well.. if I have multiple takes in an item, crop to the first take and then roll on the item all the other takes crop out one after another????
Thank you Kenny. I have One question. About the vídeo you made using the VU METER, how do i keep the plugin allways on the last position? So i can add more plugins on the FX rack but the meter Will be the last plugin allways. How to do that?
you can save the fx chain with instances of a dummy JSFX preceding the meter plugin and then replace them with actual plugins or just insert those above the dummy ones
Perfectly explained and understandable, however, after several tutorials, one "musician" has already forgotten all the procedures. Unless you are a technician in charge of recording the work of musicians, this program has a basic problem, too many procedures! too many menus, too many commands, for a musician it is just a distraction, that's why I abandoned it no matter how good and complete it is.

I just found it to be the best way to speak clearly so every word can be heard. Thanks.
I do a lot of recording takes. This approach is very useful. I also like your music more and more. Keep on the amazing work!!!

Aside from the pedagogical aspect, I always enjoy your musical selections immensely! Great when you can bop your head to a tutorial.

LOL on the Jazz ref!
great idea 👏 thanks 😊
Sick AOC shirt!
Great video.
I don't know what to call it professionally but does anyone know how to make vocals gradually muffled? Something like a moving eq
automated low-pass filter, low-pass is one of filter types available in ReaEQ in particular
@@ARE_YOU_SICK_OF_YT_CENSORSHIP thanks
Who comes up with these amazing workflow ideas?
People ask how to do X and I try to figure it out.
@@REAPERMania You should do a video on "how to figure out workflows without memorizing every menu"

Isn't there a way to just loop and increment the takes.
However, this method has the advantage that you can render it and listen while driving.
True!!
jaaaaz. niiiiiiiice.
Fuck, Kenny… blink once in a while! Great video.
Let me check if I understand well.. if I have multiple takes in an item, crop to the first take and then roll on the item all the other takes crop out one after another????
Yes.
Can you do a video using the CR8 sampler with Reaper?
Play it many times to get it right.
Why does that remind me of me lol.
My first Reaper recording, a sample of something I am writing: ruclips.net/video/2RvNyDEEabY/видео.html&ab_channel=ChrisDavies
Pls make a colour bass tutorial on reaper next plss plss🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hey Kenny...is it possible for you to put out Reaper work flows for beatmakers? For those who might be transitioning from FL Studio or Reason?

Could anyone please walk me through routing an RC 505 mk2?, looking to loop vst’s into the 505 and use it’s input and output fx.
👍👍👏👏
Wrong note or jazz)))))) 👏

... @2:11 Clearly Jazz...Yea no doubt in my mind, that was Jazz ;)
