I love that the two of you are so open and talking about personal things including your vaginas, depression, mental illness. LOL I suffer from depression and have been struggling lately. Have the 2 of you talking with me in my living room makes me feel better and that I’m not in this alone. Thank you for that..
Love watching you two! You are funny and still thoughtful of any and all who might be watching the podcast. Keep bringing us all the things to knit (or crochet--since I do both!) I always feel like you are my knitting group, since I don't have one. Love you!!
Oh Tracie....made me so emotional when you read that wonderful print!!!! You two are so great. Love your authenticity and love of knitting and our community.
Aww, this is so great! I just started watching your podcast and I really appreciate your banter and how lovingly you talk about your family, and also your efforts for inclusivity. You just warm my little heart!
You guys are such a treat to watch. I look forward to each new episode. I actually just started watching right from the very first episode the other night and watched the one where Jodi bought the "Thing One and Thing Two yarn".
Yay! So happy to see a new episode. Jodi you look great in orange and I love your new shawl pattern. Tracie your dark cloud sweater is lovely and your mountain mist has stunnung colours. I never find your episodes too long - I love all the non-knitting talk -- it feels like we're hanging out. Thank you for talking about mental health. I think it helps reduce the stigma.
As a native Texan (now displaced), I think it's HILARIOUS y'all sent Rudy's sauce! So funny! It's the best. Also, y'all have the "y'all" thing nailed. You can say it!
So nice seeing you two! Looking forward to Jodi's picture intro in the next video. I get so enthused about knitting when I watch you two show all the beautiful wool and the patterns you are working up..... OMG! So little time to get it all done, eh? LOL
I was knitting the hipster shawl and used Stella & Plank yarn. Both influenced from watching your podcast. How fun that you mentioned both on this podcast. Just got back into knitting and many podcasts have shown so many beautiful yarns that have inspired me to go and buy the yarn! Love your podcasts.
Wonderful podcast. Thanks for the discount for the Dark Cloud pattern. I have been wanting to make that. Love how yours turned out. Thanks to both of you for all that you do for all us fiber people.
Thank you so much for talking about mental health. I’m Bipolar which I’m so open about and when I share my experiences and explain what bipolar is , I fine people are still uncomfortable with the dialogue. Thank god for medicine
You gals are the best! Can't wait to see the MDH knit up! I started adding sequins to everything...I should put the warning on the packaging..."sequins are addictive." Your love of knitting and yarn is infectious and inspiring; love listening to you two gab about the craft! PS mum and I have a booth at Knit City, we will see you there! xo
Amanda.....we are SO coming to your booth this October....cant wait to meet Mom too! and yes....sequins are the crack of knitting. Use them once and you're addicted!!! 😉
I live in the UK and haven't heard of the others girls, anyway love you so much I suffer anxiety so to hear a follow suffer be able to talk about gives me strength thank you so much ladies x
Girls!! I saved watching for Friday morning as a lovely way to start my weekend while it's -12C outside here in NS. Thanks for yet another great podcast!
I am so very excited you are coming to DFW Fiber Fest, it's an experience! I started knitting just over two years ago to help with mental issues that I had never experienced before in my life. Still to this day it's my emotional outlet. I do not enjoy knitting for myself, but love knitting for others or samples. I really enjoy the experience. I went to my first DFW Fiber fest two years ago and stayed at the suggested hotel. Well, let me tell you, most knitters were either at the event or in the lobby kntting at all hours. I swear no one slept the entire time and only took breaks to pee and eat. Yes, it is very hot here. Would you be surprised to hear that's a great reason to knit shawls. You go outside and it's always 100+ degrees. Then you go inside and it's like freezing from the AC. Here come the shawls!! Girls, please if you ever need or want something knitted, I would love too. Some of my samples will be at the DFW Fiber Fest in the Quixotic booth. I can't wait to me meet you two. Your podcast is the ultimate and I am always smiling while watching. You speak to my soul!
The amount of different yarns and dye makers is amazing. And the patterns my head was doing overtime of all the cast ons I want to do. Love your podcast. Good job 🤗❤❤
Hey Girls- I love that manifesto from Homerow - she was selling a tot bag with the manifesto and I turned into a pillow for my knitting chair. I also put that poster in a frame - that’s how much I’m cray cray about that. Your FOs are fantastic by the way! Love to both of you😘😘
I just discovered you two and already love you both! Jodi's shawl is amazing and perfect for those of us who live in warmer climates (south Texas). Wish I was going to DFW Fiber Fest but unfortunately can't this year. Now I must finish this comment and go binge watch ya'll's other 73 podcasts.
So fun to hear you talk about Steven - his is one of my local shops and going there always a delight. I was just there today and had to really talk myself out of getting more of Sam's beautiful yarn. I succeeded mostly because in May we have a local festival coming up that I expect her to be at and where I plan to buy a few skeins :) I did leave with the Strangebrews book (finally!), some Three Irish Girls and two skeins of Rauma Finull. A very successful splurge!
So glad you found Will Spargur! I've bought a couple of skeins of his yarn and I so love it! His Fish Bowl colorway is so colorful. I made a cowl for a friend for Christmas and I'm making one for myself now. Right now I've got you, Budget Knitter and Fruity Knitting on my podcast list for this week. Can't go wrong! :-)
hey ladies, Steven B's yarn store is an old firehouse with high high ceilings, he needed a place where he could hang his chandelier! LUCKY me! Love you two ladies and another fun podcast!!!
Thanks for another great episode. Since January 1 I knit a Mad's Hat as a gift for my niece and the Galiano socks for me. Loved both patterns. I plan to get a pair of Hastings Mitts cast on soon so they will be done for a 2019 Christmas gift! I look forward to the new shawl pattern. Thanks for sharing your knitting and more.
So interesting listening to our Canadian sisters encouraging everyone to go to the doctor --I am a super lucky American who has really comprehensive health insurance, but many here not so lucky. Especially for mental health services. LOVE your podcast as always.
Was hard watching you munch on chocolate (yum!) but great having you on for 2 hours! I worked on my March socks throughout! A fan of Will S - it was nice to c u give a shoutout to budget knitters! Thanks ladies.
I was at Stitches West Friday, sorry I missed you Tracie. My 16 yr old granddaughter 'had' to hang with me and to her surprise (she's not a knitter) she found a gorgeous red carved Chinese medallion at one of the jewelry booths, that had great stuff, some even from the Smithsonian! This podcast was a little longish girls, but that just means extra knitting for me ... Awesomesauce!! So now I'm craving See's and must run out and get satisfaction!
OMG love love love you guys, please don't stop with broadcasting and pleaaaaase don't change your style and content, just perfect. Your topics are interesting, funny and motivating. You are reaching everyone on every level and more. Talking about your family, life in general makes it more real. Sorry for the mistakes... as you can see I am french, I am from St-Charles-sur-Richelieu, Québec in the country and like you I played with electrical fence and salt cubes and all (so funny)..... if you come to Montreal let us know....love you.
Hi Jodi!! You can get rid of the cast on "bump" by starting the tab with 4 stitches instead of 3 stitches. 3 Stitches make a triangle and a bump, and 4 stitches make a small hill that stretches straight when blocking.
Hello Tracie & Jodi! So excited at the prospect of meeting you two at DFW Fiberfest. Several of us from our knitting/crochet (Border Stitchers) group have been making the trip up (from the US/Mexico border) for the past 3 years and plan to do so again this year. Can't wait to give you a big Texas welcome. -lajoyagirl
2 hours? 2 Hours of hanging out with you gals? The best!!!! Tracie! How are you not into Audiobooks? I'm so addicted to them. Boston Rob is is also my all time favorite survivor, but I'm bias since I lived many years in New England and my daughter still lives in that area. You gals make me smile so hard!! I no wlive in the Dallas area so I really hope I can meet you both when you come to Texas. Jodi!! I love love your shawl!! DK is my favorite weight of yarn so now I have to pick up some yarn for your new design. Oh the sacrifice. And that Mountain Mist yarn... Swoon worthy. I'll be on the lookout for the details for that giveaway because the yarn looks gorgeous on the MooMoo yarn. Thanks for such an awesome episode. Enjoyed every minute of it!
Sad 😢 nothing in your Etsy shop 😢. Saved from myself! Loved watching, while we are snowed in. I have been in a knitting slump, that undoubtedly is related to my depression; thanks for recognizing and accepting that bringing mental illness into the open is helpful and honest. I want to knit all the things, and buy all the yarn, and go to all the shows; realistically I know its not possible...I just had my 76th birthday...so I will try to do as much as I am able. My process is much like your......oh, shiney! I’ll start that 😂. Startitis will be listed as the cause of my demise 🤣🧶🥰. Love everything Joji 😘. Thanks for the discount. Waiting for the shawl pattern, Jody.
Jodi will you ever make the crochet printed fabric bags again? I knit 99% of the time but I occasionally do a small crochet project and would love one of your bags.
FYI - Texas has awesome gas stations, which is where the barbecue sauce and Beaver Nuggets are sold. Rudy's is a gas station that also has a BBQ restaurant in it that is wonderful, hence the barbecue sauce. Buccees is a gas station that is basically an amusement park for travelers, with 100 gas pumps, gift shop, deli, clothes, shoes, beef jerky and pretty much anything else you would need on a trip. My son lives in Austin and when we visit, we make sure to hit both spots!
Jodi..look at you with the light color nails. So cute. Thank you for explaining the grocery girl name. I am late to the party, I found you guys in 2017. Love you guys, your show makes my week.
Absolutely obsessed with that mooroo purple and blue yarn I wish I had the budget to get some and ship it over to the UK... Just wow. I got goosebumps.
I just love your podcast so much. I live in Missouri and my sister is in Washington state so I haven’t seen her for almost two years, but we talk every single day. I just love watching y’all together! Also, I don’t think y’all sound very Canadian except for the word MAUVE! Ha! I say it rhyming with moth. 🙃🙃
Sorry I missed seeing you at Stitches West. I was there on friday afternoon shopping and had an eye out for you. Love, love, love your grocery girls knit episodes.
I was surprised to see Alexa at Stitches West also! She autographed my copy of Strange Brew. I think my First colorwork will be a Mountain Mist also Tracie! Gotta pick my colors yet 💗😁
I learned there are different weights of mohair. I also read in PLY, that mohair makes the socks stronger! I'm going to use my BMFA mohair on my socks! I think that's Cumulus, I bought an SQ worth as well as Quercus. She also teachers dyeing in natural dyes!
A girlfriend told me about your podcast, and I never knew such a thing existed, lol. Now I'm watching a bunch of them and having so much fun. Another fun episode!
I am knitting my very first sweater partially because I wanted to conquer both of my fears of circular needles AND of knitting a sweater but also because I wanted a long-term project. Can somebody please explain what raglan markers are? My pattern (Flax Pullover by Tin Can Knits) is asking me to do this as my next step and I have no clue what it is taking about. I am making a M/L size if anyone looks it up on Ravelry to help explain this step. Thanks :)
Crafty jackalope is at knit city I buy from her every year. Poison apple yarn LOVE. Lovely to see lots of yarns. I love flock fibre just found it last year knit city. Love you guys. BrambleKnits 🇨🇦
Loving the podcast! Thank you for talking about mental health. In the past year I have been dealing with a cancer diagnosis for my husband and everything was becoming too much. I am now taking an anti-depressant and it is helping. Please anyone, if you are overwhelmed, don't be afraid to ask for help! You are not alone. Also- Jodi, check out Bondi Ink on Netflix. It is great.
I want to knit a Cutie Hat for myself. I'm new at knitting, how would I go about increasing the pattern size? Is there a vlog or website that I could reference?
Good morning. I work with clients who are participating with our State Department of Rehabilitation, I assist them in finding employment in the community. In the 14 years I have been working in this direction I have had the honor of helping clients get employed from a blind therapist to a client diagnosed with depression and bipolar obtain their first job in retail. THANK YOU for telling your story, there is such a stigma connected with disabilities and it is my goal to educate those who fear mental health challenges. I love your sisterhood. I have been watching for almost 2 years and I DON'T even knit.....i am a quilter.
OMG......now I’m super excited to go to DFWFiberfest. Definitely gonna find you guys and so say HI. And y’all is learned as part of your vocabulary from birth. And just to warn you guys the weather here is totally unpredictable, so like we say here in Texas, “If you don’t like the weather wait about 15 minutes.” It’s been in the 20’s and 30’s this last week and today it was in the 60’s. So just be prepared.
Loved the podcast! You always make me laugh and yelling at Georgia when she isn’t even there is hysterical. I used to live in the DFW area. If you want some really good BBQ go to Hard Eight in Coppell. It isn’t far from the airport and It Is Amazing!!! Enjoy the trip!! Texas is awesome!
Okay I need some help! I need a good first sweater pattern! I have knitted shawls, mittens, scarves, and hats. I wanna start a sweater but I'm not sure what to start with! Any help appreciated
Such a fun podcast. Not many chaps and cowboy hats in Big D. You might need to go to Ft Worth...or come to Houston during Houston Rodeo time... I think you can use y'all just any time you want to and wherever you go. I do...living in Houston and the Adirondacks of New York 1/2 and 1/2. Don't know where the Beaver nuggets came from.... another Texas driving must is stopping at Bucee's' which is where I suspect the Beaver nuggets came from... their logo is a beaver and their gas stations/food (several types of jerky. sandwiches, bar-b-que etc) gift shops/best clean restrooms in Texas are so fun. If someone says "bless your little heart" in a sticky sweet way that is not good. Have a great time. Texas is ready for you fun ladies.
My 60th b’day is coming up - March 21st. Jus’ throwing that out there. I’m definitely not a spring chicken anymore! 😂 I need Jodi’s pattern when it comes out! Love it! I’m all about some easy, no fuss, knitting!
I went immediately to add Mountain Mist to my queue and saw there is a Mountain Mist hat to match. I want one in the exact colours. I think a red plum colour where you have the green would also work.
SUPER EXCITED you’re coming to Dallas!!! I met you at the Ann Budd Retreat in Edmonton, very excited to see you again!!! We will need to take you to Rudy’s BBQ for dinner one night! It’s like a vintage service/gas station!
Curiosity Inc is a podcast and a brick and mortar store in Edmonton. There is a fantastic series where he buys a hoarder house full of surprises and you gals can go visit his shop. He’s such a wonderful thoughtful guy! Yay Edmonton!
Hoping to get to meet y'all in DFW. I grew up there but am now living in exile in northern Louisiana. Love y'all's podcast, it was one of the first I started following and I've seen every episode. Love the new shawl pattern Jodi! And y'all need to know before you get here that the state tree is pronounced "pu KAHN" not pee can like they do in Georgia-bless their hearts...
I love that the two of you are so open and talking about personal things including your vaginas, depression, mental illness. LOL I suffer from depression and have been struggling lately. Fully love you two, bringing joy with each episode. The honesty and goodness goes such a long way!
I was having such a sad day and I'm so happy to see this in my inbox! Thanks for being awesome and making my day brighter.
How much fun would it be if Grocery Girls Momma celebrated episode 75 with a guest appearance?
I love your little tip for the sleeves! Im so terrible at keeping track. This is so perfect for me!!!

I’ve had Indian Lake Artisan needles for a couple years - I have the straights because of the copper tops that are so artsy! LOVE them!!!!

Whew! I had to go check to make sure I already ordered a kit. Thank goodness I did!,
Crafty jackalope is at knit city I buy from her every year.
Ohhhhhh. So sorry to hear about your husband, but so glad you're getting some help with coping. Sending lots of love to you both , Susan. xxx❤️
@@traciemillar Thank you, Tracie! ❤
I want to knit a Cutie Hat for myself. I'm new at knitting, how would I go about increasing the pattern size? Is there a vlog or website that I could reference?
I bought that same red yarn from Leading Men on Saturday at Stitches. Love, love, love the color so much. Sorry I missed you 😉
Good morning.
You simply must eat at Rudy's while you are in TX!! It's the best! Also, I am in LOVE with Traci's huge pom pom! I hope to find them online!
Blown away!! You guys ROCK!! Did you all hear me scream!!!
gaye glasspie GG! You’re one in a million & we adore you! 💋
gaye glasspie I LOVE the mug I have with the yarn balls. I have it at work and it makes me smile when I look at it and then dream of knitting.
@@ShortCircuitMom thank you!!
I love watching you guys sniff your yarns. Love that yarny smell! (and glad I'm not the only one who does this!!)
‘Y’all’ is a state of mind...relaxed and friendly 😉 you can totally pull it off!
Okay I need some help! I need a good first sweater pattern! I have knitted shawls, mittens, scarves, and hats. I wanna start a sweater but I'm not sure what to start with! Any help appreciated
Im teary after you reading that. It's so perfect
So excited to hopefully meet ya'll at DFW!
Or just awkwardly shuffle by. 😂😂😂
I laughed SOOO hard to see Beaver Nuggets. I'm probably the only Texan that hates them lol. Y'all are silly. Can't wait to see you!!!
COMING to TEXAS!!! YAAAASSSS! You will love it!
Hi Theresa!! See you soon. That Rudy's sauce was AMAZEBALLS!
Love you two, you remind me of me and my sister. You make me laugh x
Well that was fun! Thanks again ladies!!
Love the Birch tree shawl, my mind is whirling through my stash.
Can the Dutch heel be used on toe up as well as the cuff down? Love you guys. Thanks.
