Thanks for watching!

I want someone to do a supercut of all the time Jodi yells "Georgia! We're podcasting!".
I'm in England and just home from working a night shift as a nurse /midwife so I should be tucked up and asleep then I spot your podcast. I'm wide awake and knitting and in my happy place :D you ladies are the best knitting company xxx
I love that you're showing your quilts as well. I'm a knitting and quilting person myself and love, love, love both. I hope you show more in the future! And Jodi I think your hair looks great at this length.
Grocery Girls Drinking game: Every time Jodi yawns you take a drink. Never bored watching you guys xoxo
ittakeseffort outcome for me with this ..... think I could drink the whole bottle!
Thank you for keeping me company today 😘💞 Such fun being with you. I'm sure you know, but just in case ... are you aware that your phones interfere with your sound track. Its common prob with signals coming through on smart phones... do you try keeping them pointing away from your microphone and/or iPad when not showing them to us? You probably do, but it might help 🤷♀️
Thank you for all the time you spend share with us, it's great 🙋🏼💖✨
I found you guys a month after my husband unexpectedly passed away 3 years ago. Thanks for helping me to smile again. Love from Kingston Ontario ❤️
a Wright Hi... It will be six years for me, in January... We had 46 years ...I hope you are doing well...It’s hard...I know.💜
2 minutes in - maybe we need to do a menopause podcast together one of these days 😂. We feel ya ladies!
Jody and Tracey, It was such a treat to meet you both at ‘Knit City Social Knit Night’ in Vancouver. The energy you emit in your podcast is more wonderful in person. Thank you for supporting “all” knitters and bringing the fun with exuberance. Okay enough fan girling....Jody I wanted that hat pattern today. My ‘Things Created Equal-Neon Speckle Merino dK color way arrived in the mail. I LOVE the ribbed garter between the cables.
I've never understood why people dislike purling. For me it is a basic reverse knit and just as easy to do as a knit. 😊
I think flicking v throwing really makes you feel a certain way about pearling lol.
Ladies, I love watching your show. I look forward to every one since I discovered you a few months ago. Recently the sound interference is happening a lot more. Is it possible to find a way to minimize it with moving your phones away from the tech, putting them on airplane mode or turning them off to decrease the interference? Love watching y’all. Have fun at Knit City!
The buzzing was bugging me, too. Great episode, though ladies!
And me, Maybe not have the phones so close to the microphone.
Also, what was the flashing every few minutes? Were you taking snapshots? Very troublesome for the eyes. Otherwise, great podcast! No mic noise on my end.
Another super podcast girls! I love how long it is, and its fine to dip in and out of yarn stuff, with things about hair, coffee, books, films, kids, dogs, private parts (or in your case Jodie, not so private!! ). It makes you normal, and it feels like we are sitting round a table chatting as friends, even though you are in Canada and I am in England, I love it!! Never change and never worry about it. You are still giving us amazing information about products, and teaching us stuff. Love you guys!!
Lol. Love you guys so much! I come home from work and my husband tells me to relax dear watch one of your knitting shows, lol, I tell him I haven't check for one today.......and finally I do and you ladies have one. I said your name and asked if he knew which podcast it was.... he said yes and I asked who, he said the Canadian hotties! 😘☺ thanks for your podcast!
lol. I refer to knitting podcasts as "my shows" to my boyfriend. And he knows who the Grocery Girls are! haha so funny
You ladies are my favorites! I wish I could talk to my sis like this! You are sooo real. The fiber friends we all need and wish we had more of - just to sit and knit and share. The frank talk about menopause should be a new section of each episode - no one talks about it and its an important part of our lives as women. And the men watching could learn some fun facts about the women in their lives! 🤔 love you both!
You have made us knit more socks than we normally ever would...you made us believe that we could actually knit up a sweater that fit! (Lol) and try techniques that would make us run for the hills! We have tried and tested so many things because you spur us on with all your knitting shenanigans! Thanks for cheering us on! Watching you right now as I try to catch up on your Sept KAL/s!🤗❤️👍🏻🧶
I would totally knit your sweaters for you Jodi! I don’t love doing the color work and patterned yokes and stuff, but I sure do love stockinette in the round! And I never wear anything I knit because I live in Florida. And I absolutely love working with fingering and lace weight yarns, so if you want a fingering weight sweater, but don’t want to knit the body, I’m your gal! I love watching you guys! My 16yo daughter watches you guys with me and we always have fun seeing what your working on and listening to your stories.
So happy to be spending my birthday with the fab grocery girls 🥳
Made one of my Super Simple Summer Sweaters in Tanis' worsted. She has this fantastic eco friendly superwash yarn. Despite import taxes and shipping to Sweden it's my preferred yarn. Colors are amazing too. Thanks for all the "happy hours" you bring!
Watching you girls is like watching my favorite movie 😂. Thanks for taking the time to share with us!
Love the fact you are having such a good time that you forget about the time! Keep podcasting ladies, you are a joy to watch.
Oooh, lovin the quilting chatter! I recently started and am obsessed. The batik is GORGEOUS!!!
Love watching you guys. Can’t wait fir you guys to visit Michigan again. My mom recently sold her house and we are building her a tiny house on our property. It will be attached to our 3 1/2 car garage. We are turning the current garage into a craft room as both mom, myself and my 13 year old son knit as well as sew and quilt. I also spin so now we have our own dedicated space to be creative without spreading out all over the house.
I like the zipper on that end. You can hang it on your wrist and the yarn can come out of that end. You don't have to have the whole zipper wide open for your yarn to be accessible. AND!! YES!! Knit City in 10 days! WooHoo!
Oh great idea. Thx for sharing the idea
Tracie, in regard to your upcoming knitting bus trip, I highly recommend Bonine. I have terrible motion sickness and never could knit in the car. Now I take a Bonine an hour before the car/bus ride and I am good to knit for 12 hours! Love you guys!
Love u guys and been bing watching your Off Our Needles on Bluprint! Want more!
A day with the grocery girls is a great day! Thank you ladies!
I am always so excited to wake up and watch during my morning coffee! Thank you for yet another fabulous show. I am unsure if you are aware but the interference in this episode is pretty rough. It started to become unbearable around 1:30 in. Simple fix, keep your phones away from the camera. It will not stop me from watching
Jodi I can’t wait for your new cable hat pattern 😍😍😍 I just knit three of your Sweet Felicia hat pattern and had never knit cables, they always scared me but now I’m addicted. 🧶🧶🧶🧶
I love EVERYTHING you talk about and I love you xxxx thanks so much for a much needed fun couple of hours!!!! Hugs to you both xxxxxxx
Love , love your podcasts! Never ever stop! Way to go Girls!
So lucky to have a sister that shares your passions 😍 I wish I was going to knit city , can't wait to see your next podcast and here all about it.
Love your hair Jodi especially with the clip cute!! Gorgeous sweater Tracie colours are perfect ❤️ So lovely to have you back can’t explain how much I love watching you wish you could be my best friends🥰 enjoy knit city xxx😘😘 hurry back!
So much fun. I watched about half and had to go somewhere and then forgot I hadn't finished it. When I finally figured it out I was so excited to have another hour! It was like Christmas.
Coconut milk yum yum. And cashew milk. Dark chocolate milk is the bees knees.
I'm that person that loves knitting stockinette. I'd do that for all time. Relaxing. Anxiety reducing.
Love your show as always.
Gastown restaurant options: Meet (a vegetarian place that makes amazing food for all), Guu (fun, loud, Japanese tapas), alibi room (amazing beer bar with good pub food), Flying Pig (BC chain with lots of staples and a nice but casual atmosphere)
Love your open honesty which we can identify with......we KNOW what you are talking about!
Hi Tracie and Jodi so glad to see you . So glad I caught live. Oh I live in N. Highlands California so I don't have the need for all those beautiful sweaters that you knit, but I love watching you.
Re Heartburn - my sister had heartburn at night for years only to find out the hard way it was actually her gallbladder - she discovered this when her bile ducts got blocked and created pancreatitis and she ended up in hospital on morphine for 7 days before they could even remove her gallbladder because of infection. So be sure to have your Dr check and make sure it isn't gallbladder. That is if you still have one to worry about lol
Love your podcast so excited to see it in my subscription list YAY
My reflex went away when I went off of Gluten. Was a surprise.
It's taken me four tries to finish up the episode! Can't wait for your post-Knit City episode. And you're so funny, I loved the mammogram chat. LOL! That's one of the benefits of age (not that there are SO many); they start spreading them out when you're post-menopause, at least around here (in NC), that's what they do. You guys are the best!
Knit City!!! Less than a week away and I can’t wait. I’ll be at Knit Night and the Arne & Carlos lecture (also taking their class) so I’m sure I’ll get to see you. It’s been a couple of years I think. Loved this podcast and I have lots to add to my “must have” list.
Hello from South Africa ladies I love watching your podcast. Lately there has been interference from your phone with the mic. You are both very stunning ladies thanks again for the content of your podcast
I am a PNW knitter (Portland!) who is coming to Knit City and I cannot wait to meet the two of you! I look forward to your podcasts so much and always tell my husband about what you say. When we were in Alberta last year, he asked me if I wanted to "drop in" on you...as if! His parents were both born and raised in Alberta and he said that's what you do...ha! I hope I get to be at one of your tables for the pub quiz.
Great episode! I always look forward to your podcast! It was especially needed this week:) Beautiful sweater Tracie! Love all of your hats Jodi!
You can get a wool batt for quilts, I use them exclusively in all my household quilts. It does make them a bit squishier, and of course you’d need to not shock it,cold wash, cold rinse, or warm wash, warm rinse in the washing machine you may be interested in the wool batting over cotton. It makes the quilt useable nearlyyear around. Hobbs is a company that makes it.
Jody! I'm your sweater body knitter! I can knit large circumference stockinette tube forever! This is my favorite thing to knit. But then you have all that fuss with armholes, neck, ribbing and sleeves I just hate doing! Body knitting is a happy place for me :)
I started watching your podcast just a couple of months ago and really love it. You guys are so friendly, I had a ridiculous moment today where I saw a picture of the simple summer sweater in really great colours on instagram and thought 'I must remember to tell Jodi', and then of course remembered that I don't actually know you! Australian weirdo :) But thank you for your lovely show.
It’s sunny in Vancouver! During menopause I wore sleeveless tops! I loved them. Keep a buttoned sweater or shawl close by and slip them on or off! My hairdresser is amazing with short hair! Sorry she is in Richmond. Every five weeks she does a new cut. I figure if I don’t like it I only have to wear it for 5 weeks. Presently she is shaving it at the back and letting it grow longer on top. I was scared, but I trusted her and I love it. I can hardly wait to see how it looks next week when she shaves the back again and the top is even longer! Looking forward to seeing you at Knit City on Sunday.
Jodi I'm with you! I want to wear comfy cloths and flannels to bed! I'm over the hot flashes and waking up in a pool of sweat and it just started! lol I love watching you two. You make my lunch time so enjoyable!
Jodi I think your hair is fine. Looks great on you.
that beautiful speckly color with the prettttty base - looks like funfetti cake and I'm LIVING FOR IT
I am SO sick of sweating - can't wait to see you at KNIT CITY
When I seen the yarn that Jodi used from Things created equal...Had to buy some as well...although I bought fingering weight...was thinking it would make a great sweater!! I love how the speckles look with the warm creamy colorway!!
Nobody's getting bored, I promise you! We love hearing about all the ins and outs!
If you take the skytrain from the airport to Broadway-City Hall there is a Chipotle half a block away. It’s a quick 15 minute skytrain ride. Then take a cab from there to you hotel after lunch. Also, I’m meeting you two at Chipotle because a) it’s delicious and b) I work a couple blocks away from that skytrain station. Tracey, I have lash extensions as well and I feel the same way. I love them but dang, they are expensive to maintain.
First.. I don’t notice any interference with the phones. Your sound is great.
Jodi... Your colorwork is lovely. Good work!
Tracy... alive yiur socks...
I din’t do socks... I guess hats (mostly for charity) are my “socks”. I always have at least one going... They are usually my take along project.
My LYS carries Addi needles, but I have never tried any of them. I love my ChaiGoo Red Lace, and my beautiful color coded Zings. They are pretty much all I use..
Just found your channel after watching off our needles. Love you guys!
10 minutes in and I just have to say again....u two r so SO much fun to listen to!!!! Okay back to the YAY...2 hours of listening to u Sistas!
Oh those darn power surges! I can't even think about knitting sweaters until this is over. Layers, layers, layers! Hang in there girls! (I've adapted GG's power surge term, I love it)
Hi Ladies-The eyelashes are great Tracie! I noticed them immediately. I can no longer wear mascara thanks to allergies and am wondering if I would have problems with lash extensions. I've had them in the past with no problems but that was before my eyes totally rebelled. I've just ordered your favourite notions pouch and a bag from Jodie in Antique shop-beyond excited! I'm impressed by your very reasonable postage across the pond! Love the show and the rambling and veering off piste is part of the charm of your podcast. Jodie, I sympathise with the eyes-my eyelids are rapidly going south and boy, does it make a difference. I think I might risk the lash extensions and hope for thee best-fed up with eyes looking like two pissholes in the snow! (an English expression you girls may not be familiar with!) Love Tracie's colour combo on the Joji sweater as well.
Truly fun to spend some time with you!! 😘
I'm a long-time quilter and for the lightest, most squishy warm quit -wool of course! lol. Wool batting is widely available and I use it in all quilts I make for myself. As with knitting though, giving one as a gift takes consideration. The recipient should be someone who will take care of it properly and use proper washing procedures.
I only batt with wool
You girls so enjoy watching keep it coming!
Jodi menopause is different for everyone, some women never get over it! Your last period is the start of menopause, have fun. I’m 61 and I’m wondering if I’ll ever be cold again lol
Love the cream colored hat and the pattern is amazing
So I'm laying in bed watching and Jodi mentions the dogs so I tell hubby the story of peeing in the bedroom. Sure enough you girls start explaining it but then I tell hubby my favorite is when Jodi yells GEORGIA! And sure enough, right on cue Jodi yells and we just start laughing!! OMG you two are so funny!! 😂🤣🥰
Just recently st as red watching your pos cast here on you tube and love the episodes! I work 3rd shift so I watch when I get home. I should be sleeping...anywho cant wait for next episode. Would love to hit every shop, Knit City, pub activity!, but I live in USA, IOWA, dont have a passport and have to work this weekend. Have groovy day Jodi and Tracie!
I freaking love youuuuu smart asses! 🤣
I was introduced to you by my knitting group about a month ago. How did I live without the grocery girls?!?
I just scored one of your kits and enamel pins. And I finally caved and got the large wedge from Jodi- and I added a note to write something sassy inside. Lol
You make me laugh, and spring too much money. I’m ok with both though!
Jodi's test sock reminds me of Neapolitan Ice Cream! Love spending the afternoon, knitting a Jodi sock (Hello Sunshine) and laughing along with you.
To loosen the color work a little extra. Turn the inside out on your project. And then knit along the inside of your loop. Having the floats on the outside of your loop adds a little extra length to them. Naturally you still have to be careful that you knit loosely enough. But this trick might just give your floats that bit of extra lenght to stretch.
The technique is perfect for color work socks, mittens, hats and other smaller project were it gives a lot of extra stretch. But also for works for sweaters. Although not adding the same amount of extra stretch you get on the smaller projects
Last summer I had a 5 week migraine. Yes I said 5 weeks. I saw my Dr and he gave me big drugs - nothing. Next to the neurologist and he put 6 shots of Botox - nothing again. My niece told me about the daith piercing in my ear and I shit you not I had no headache within 10 minutes and I haven’t had a headache in over a year. It was the very best $50 I’ve ever spent. Go to a good tattoo parlor and have it done. Let me know!! Love you girls!! ❤️❤️
Your podcast is dangerous! I want to buy everything you showed!! 💰💰💰💰 (And thanks for the laughs!)
Hiya, check out your episode 19/ July 27, 2016. That is where you spoke about these two colorways of Sweet Georgia yarn. It is ironic that you finally used it to knit Joji 's Simple Summer Sweater - the pattern you spoke of back in 2016 is Oh La La , a Joji cardigan!
Thanks for all the great content - yarn and otherwise. Your sweaters are gorgeous!
UH-oh... I'm finding myself in a bit of a pickle !!! I haven't had a chance to finish episode 82 yet. @ .. @ But not to worry. It's a wonderful 'pickle' to be in. LOL Love watching Grocery Girls Knit !!!
I can empathize with poor Georgia's migrain. This summer has been particularly bad with the intense winds and electrical storms around Edmonton. I have recently been using Voltaren (anti-inflammatory gel) to great effect. I apply a dab on whichever side is painful, usually up the back of the neck and into the hairline leading to the pain. I still take meds and try to sleep it off but the Voltaren has really helped. Georgia, feel better soon.
Tracie - if you don't love the cost and maintenance of eyelash extensions.. you might love a lift and tint. It's less expensive and a little more natural looking but it's great if you have long, blonde, or straight lashes. It can last 6-8 weeks 💜
The yarn you two get is so pretty! Wish I lived close enough to get to Knit City as I would definitely attend! 🧶
Sorry to hear about the migraines, I suffer from them as well. My doc sent me to a neurologist who started me on Botox injections. ( The daily pills did nothing for me) Ten minutes of pain, the injections are in your shoulders, head, and face, for three months of relief. I went from 15-18 per month to 1 in three months. It is just amazing! If your insurance covers it, it can be a lifesaver.
I’d love to hear about the hair dresser brake-up! You guys are funny! “You can make the coffee” (Tracie) was my favourite bit.
OMG Jodi! If Georgia didn’t have a migraine already, she had one when you yelled! 😂
Love both your sweaters.
Knit City here we come!! This will be our third trip from Portland. It's just the perfect size festival (IMO) and we love all you Canadians!! If you need a cute coffee/breakfast spot near Gastown check out Nelson the Seagull. And Jodi, I am in the same hair predicament. I will always wear it short-ish but not as short as when I was young. I do get bored with it but I think yours is looking great. I agree with Tracie, find a good stylist, maybe add some fun highlights....xoxo
Love the podcast, been watching almost from the beginning. You two are great! Jodi is correct about the definition of postmenopausal, it starts after a woman has gone 12 months without a period. Welcome to the club Tracie (lol)! Suzee
Steam works Brew Pub is a fun place to go for dinner and of course the Old Spaghetti Factory are both in Gastown!
Yay! Can't wait to meet you two at Knit City!
Love to see you guys make something in the luxe nubby yarn. I also love your Woolfolk sweater but when I goon their website I can never find the luft yarn. It is never there. Just a page of patterns for it but no yarn for sale, but other yarn ways.
LOL You gals crack me up. Can I just come move up there and I'll knit in stockinette every day for you all day long! Oh, i can cook, clean and do graphic design also ;) Love ya girls!
I am SO jealous of your weather!! I live in the SE US and it is still 90 degrees here. I love the cold- I may need to migrate north :)
You’re quilt is beautiful! 💕🙌🏻
Thank you so much for you podcast ladies! I so enjoy them! I hope you will show us your punch needle project on your next video. Have a great time at Knit City! P.s. - I saw that there will a Knit City in Montreal in March 2020, any chance you will be there?
My first episode at your place and thank you for great intertainment. I allready looooove you. I'm a podcaster myself but from Denmark :-)
For the hat crochet springs to come out of the top. I think they would look like cables that have broken free at the top.
Missouri and 80. We're so excited below 90.
Your memorial story reminded me of a trip I took with an ex. He and I were going to a liquor store in New Hampshire and beside the store was a "redemption centre". I thought it was a church ... It was for bottle returns. Unfortunately I didn't think before I asked what a church was doing beside the store . He eventually named a daylily for it.
I don't get hot flashes I get power surges, my daughter laughs at me I told her pray that she doesn't get them. So I know how you feel.
🤣
Gastown restaurants: #1 choice is Nuba, lebanese food. #2 Old Spaghetti Factory - classic Gastown experience #3 Tacofino Taco bar the ultimate in West Coast hip (& tasty too - plus you can order takeawayat the back door).
Have you been to Knit and Stitch in West Van?? OMG, now THATS a yarn shop!! Try it out.
Jodi, Love your hair short and spiky. I love your spontaneous laugh Traci. Great as always. I, like most of us think we know you. I wanted to ask you a question about your sock tubes. Maybe on Ravelry?
Consider piece as you go... for quilting ...also check out wool batting.
Super excited for those new hat patterns Jodi!!
Definitely go to Flying Pig in Gastown! Their Brussel sprouts are amazing!! And make great Mac and cheese too! Then go across the street to Jules Bistro for dessert. Their creme brulee is everything.
I'm 2:15 in and I already snorted my iced tea.
LMAO! I know, right!? I always laugh so hard watching these ladies and listening to their awesome stories!!!
