Mr Rogers has a Canadian connection-----growing up along the Ontario border in Niagara Falls, NY, we would get CBC programs. I watched Friendly Giant and Mr Dressup...recently I googled those shows and Wikipedia says that Fred Rogers got his start in Children's TV working on Mr Dressup (a Canadian Broadcasting Co show) in Canada. Then he came back to US and started his iconic show. So thank you Canada!

Here in Houston Texas...... I know it as Campaign or Watergate Salad.... Yummmmmm! In Texas, we also add pistachio pudding mix to the Cool Whip. This is a forever American Thanksgiving staple..... :) CAMPAIGN SALAD 1 lg. cream cheese 3/4 c. sugar 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries or raspberries 1/2 c. walnuts (chopped) 2 bananas (diced) 1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple 1 lg. Cool Whip Take cream cheese and sugar, stir until smooth. Add strawberries or raspberries and remaining ingredients. Place in 9 x 13 container. Freeze and remove 1 hour before serving.
Thanksgiving at our house is, turkey, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy. Ham, yams, deviled eggs, peanut butter stuffed celery. green bean casserole, rolls, pumpkin pie, apple pie, pecan pie, with whipped cream. And what ever else we happened to add to it. You are so right about not allowing the festive season take over your life to the Detriment of your mental health and it is always good to remind people they don't need to buy into all the crazy and can take time for themselves to rest and calm their mind. I think it is also good to remind everyone to not put pressure of loved ones to join in or be at events. If someone say to you "Sorry I cannot attend" it is better to reply "Thank you for letting me know.We will miss you, but if it's not possible now, how about we arrange to meet up sometime after the madness of the festive season is over."

I bought one of those Austrian pompoms two years ago whrn I visited Vienna and I love it. It's big and full of colors! Last week I received my Jingle balls kit and it's gorgeous!!! Much better in person, and it only took a week to travel all the way to Spain. Now I need to find a special pattern to make a wonderful project.

2 people i loved very much passed from suicide in July. And a good friend of mine passed from suicide on my birthday a few years ago. My birthday is on Sunday. I'm going to be supporting as many people for this collaboration as i possibly can.

Made my own Advent calendar of yarn, gave my girls my basket of minis with the old empty David's Advent calendar box, and told them to fill it up. Looking forward to the surprise, to crotches into my Granny Stripe blanket, every day.

I actually did use my Row One Yarns for an advent calendar this year. I bought a reusable wooden advent calendar on Amazon, and asked my husband to fill the drawers with the yarn. Of course he didn't, so I had to, but it's all good.

Made my own Advent calendar of yarn, gave my girls my basket of minis with the old empty David's Advent calendar box, and told them to fill it up. Looking forward to the surprise, to crotches into my Granny Stripe blanket, every day.

Thanks for the Row One mini bag aka advent suggestion. This is what I ordered and I am so excited to receive it. Unfortunately there are many many of us that Advent yarn calendars are not in our budget so this is a wonderful alternative.

Speaking of Hue Loco...I met her (Nicole) at the Sunday Farmers' Market in Loveland this summer, I said hi, although I often think that seems strange. She was so friendly and gracious! I actually did use my Row One Yarns for an advent calendar this year. I bought a reusable wooden advent calendar on Amazon, and asked my husband to fill the drawers with the yarn. Of course he didn't, so I had to, but it's all good.

I agree totally about not feeling bad about not knitting for everyone. I enjoy giving away knitting to people that “get it”. If someone does not enjoy knitted items it is a waste of time and money. I would rather give them something they enjoy.

Duk-Soon Olivieri i believe the patterns will be in the Ravelry stores of the individual designers. Kristy of Yarn Café has announced that Tracie’s pattern is scheduled for December 1st, so it will appear on Tracie’s Ravelry shop page on that day at around 10 am mst.
