I went through 5 stages of grief watching last 5 episodes of journey to love. I was so angry at one of the heros would die per episode but if we ignore the horrific ending the drama was still one of the best c-drama of this year. The fight sequences and EQ of the characters made it a much loved project. If only the writer had not gone on a killing spree at the end, it would have been the most perfect drama.
@@halimatadesanya9303I struggled watching it by episode 3 too. I know it gets praised a lot but I really couldn’t continue it even with Liu Yunning in it.
I hate sad endings so I waited until the drama had aired and then checked if the ending was happy or sad. Because it is a sad ending I will be skipping the drama. Glad you enjoyed it, other than the ending. xXx
I couldn’t finish to watch this drama . It’s my favorite cdrama, I loved all in it, but I stopped to watch in 35 episode. I love too much all characters for watching their death
I dont get why Chinese directors love doing the tragic/open ending stuff. I dont mind rollercoaster rides during dramas but atleast give them happy endings. I want to feel a sense of happiness, not stress after a drama😂
That’s our American culture talking. I’m Chinese American and as a young person years and years ago, the Chinese movies always had sad endings or philosophical endings. I think it’s part of their culture. But where there’s great amounts of money to be made, things are changing and we do see more and more happy endings.
@@5877userexactly American culture love the Disney’s happily ever after, but life, real life is tragic, heroes died because they are humans not immortals.
@@5877user I am also Asian American. I love philosophical thinking but if you think those are found in cdrama, you are mistaken. Some writers I think are not highly educated. They just push drama out for money. If sad ending is to model life, sorry I am also living, I can turn on the TV and see so many tragedies, harassment, death, etc..
@@carloscatacata6135 I am thumbing you both up cause you both have points but...1 or 2 dramas with happy endings will not kill anyone. I walked away from Hollywood because of the same crap..all bad , nothing with substance but at the same time-I want to escape to a happy world sometimes. This real world is all mess up, everywhere. I want so escapism. I get the whole culture and this is why it is intriging to me(oh and the hot guys but I digress) My nurse brought me into this world. I started it with "The King's Woman" and "The Story Of Yanxi Palace" I was hooked. I remember my father and brother watching Sunday after(every Sunday afternoon) Kung Fu Theater. Every weekend a new story(1970's and 80"s) yes, I am not old. That was fun because I was paying attention to the fighting not the story. Yes, they died but again, the action not the story. I am older and again, I understand culture but, boy it is rough when you are watching 90 episodes and you go through pain, anger, happiness and then ultimate sadness. I get your happiness inparadise--but I want to see some happiness here and now. But, again, it's their culture take it or leave it. I'll hang on because there's nothing that will ever make me go back to hollywood and their deaths with out a reason, sex without romance, comedy without laughter..nope not going back.
@@5877useryou are alive , me too. You told that in real life everybody is dead , yes but most of us live until the old age and we have happy life if we are lucky. You told, that sad ending is the real life, I’m not agree with you. Also most Chinese drama is not real life but fantasy. For me the sad ending tries to add extract meaning, extra deep in cdrama. I don’t see additional meaning when young men of 18 years old dead in the end. Happy life requests also a lot of work and self development. You need to study, earn Money, protect your family, take care of your loved one and your relationship. I don’t see why sad ending should be “best” that American “happy ending “.
A journey to love should have been titled a Journey to death. The writers of trash endings deserve the backlash. Why should viewers invest our time just to feel cheated with bad conclusions?
Glad to know about the ending of Journey to Love; I am only 13 episodes in and have grown very attached to characters and assumed that someone was going to die - cause, C-drama. Knowing how it ends allows me to move on and find another that won't leave me angry and frustrated. Too bad, I really enjoyed the actors' portrayal of their characters.
I still think it is worth watching. I cried each time someone died but I interpret the ending as the main leads actually surviving since they didn't show the deaths and they lived peacefully. Both of them were strategists and good at deceptions. The appearance of their son who was named as promised to Shisan makes me want a second season with their grown up children carrying on the story.
A journey to Love should have been called " A journey to die", this drama was, to my opinion, the best of 2023, but the last 4-5 episodes broke my heart. The main leads wanted to have a child together and they didn't even get to have one. I feel like la last scene was just the princess dreaming about them fulfilling their dream. The writers really f*ck us up 😢💔😭😩
For **The Longest Promise** -- this video said: "The ambiguity of Xiao Zhan's [Shi YIng's] return left viewers questioning whether it was real or just Zhu Yan's imagination, adding an unresolved element to the ending". Actually, if viewers looked more closely, it's pretty clear Shi Ying's return is NOT Zhu Yan's imagination. I can write an entire long essay explaining how there are just so many clues in the last scenes as well as in prior episodes of this drama that supports the interpretation that Shi Ying really came back (I think this drama is worth a second watch just to pick up all those clues). But here I'm just going to point out one of the clues in the ending scene: Shi Ying starts to appear out of the flower on the tree AS ZHU YAN HAD HER BACK TURNED. The viewers saw Shi Ying appear before Zhu Yan saw him. Zhu Yan was actually walking away from the tree as the viewers start to see a sparkle come out of the flower as Shi Ying started to materialize. Zhu Yan only stopped and turned around because she sensed/heard something happening behind her -- and it was only then that she saw him. If Shi Ying's appearance was only her imagination, then the viewers would not be the ones seeing him appear before Zhu Yan did. If Shi Ying was just all in Zhu Yan's head, then the viewers would only see him at the same time Zhu Yan sees him. That's just logic. This is a detail a lot of viewers miss because the unexpectedness of the ending made so many people too angrily emotional to look at things more calmly. Instead the anger and disappointment led many to immediately default to a pessimistic interpretation and call it a day. I know a lot of viewers who feel disappointed in this drama like to mock the drama's name and call it "The Unfulfilled Promise" or "The Forgotten Promise" -- but they miss the clue that even the title itself is giving about the drama's ending: it's called "The Longest Promise" precisely because Shi Ying does return to fulfill his promise, although *it might take years*. This clue in the title is staring at us in the face! ...but I know when viewers are angry and disappointed, they're not going to be receptive....which, I guess, is somewhat understandable. The ending of this drama really isn't THAT ambiguous for anyone who has the patience to look at it more calmly and notice the clues, foreshadowings, symbolisms, and underlying themes of the story. In my opinion, the ending is only *partially* ambiguous -- but NOT ambiguous in regards to the question of whether Shi Ying really returned, because he quite clearly did (if we pay attention to the clues). But like with a lot of things about this drama, it requires PATIENCE in order to appreciate. However, that's kind of asking too much from some viewers -- which, again, is kind of understandable these days....because who has the patience and time to pay such close attention to ONE drama when there are so many others to watch?
#TheLongestPromise really broke my heart, but I still think the ending makes sense. Love #XiaoZhan, #RenMin, and all the other casts. 100% recommended! 💯👍
Yeah, the ending is definitely in keeping with the xue hanwei/snowy rosa symbolism of rebirth/regeneration that appears throughout the story. This symbolic layer wasn't in the original novel (which had a more clearcut happy ending). It makes sense that the drama would end this way, given the underlying metaphor about springtime and rebirth. Shi Ying himself is basically the personification of the xue hanwei/snowy rosa.... In fact, according to Zhu Yan (during the first time she was trapped inside his sleeve), he even smells like one!
Men this video hit the nail on the head. Said what I wanted to say. I'm still aching from the ending of a journey to love. Thank God for the heads up I'm not finishing My journey to you. I don't know why directors think there is a problem with happy ending uuf!
Maybe those Cdrama writers and directors tried to adopt Shakespeare's tragicomedy style of story-telling? We see this in Hamlet, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, etc. I clearly see the resemblance in Journey to Love. Unfortunately, not my cup of tea. Life is too hard as it is. I prefer laughter in my leisure time. That's why I am not too much of a Shakespeare fan, more a Jane Austen fan :)
😅😅😅I am laughing not at you but what you said. My sentiments exactly. I just made a deal with my husband not to curse so(it's been 18 years now), I am living vicariously through you right now. Thanks!!!😁
JOURNEY TO LOVE, the last two episodes where such a disservice to this great drama. I loved it but as soon as the most handsome man in the world died, and the way he died i knew it was down hill from there. Now is it just me or is anyone else freaking confused with the ending. Like that character was in such few scenes, but the end made it seem like she had such a connection to the group. I think they should of ended with the duke and princess and them growing to care for each other and being partners while leading the country. Atleast that way we as viewers would know the sacrifice the others made was worth it. That would of been in my opinion a waaay better ending then whateverit was they where trying to do
It really depends on how ready the viewer is prepared to see a tragic ending. My most favourite drama is Nirvana on Fire, where I was ready for the hero to die heroically. A journey to Love, I truly appreciated the story line, all the marvellous actors and actresses. The hero n heroine were perfect. Being such violent assassins/body guards I did not think they could escape death, they are heroes, dying a heroic death so worth watching.
Agree. FL is badass and so beautiful! Storyline is captivating, yet a tragic ending for FL and ML. I was hoping, both would have a peaceful, happy ending with 2-4 children. The ending left me empty and disappointed, but it was worth watching! Happy 2024 from California, USA 🎉❤
if the team members were dying slowly during the mission or something it still would have been better like just spread their deaths in the last 10-12 episodes or something but they just died one episode each in the last 5 episodes its was so sudden....i literally wasnt ready for it the killing spree was heartbreaking and ive stopped watching cdrama after this...its been 3 months and i cant gather courage to watch any wuxia cdrama.
I totally agree with NoF because we know the hero is going to die from the 1st episode, and they never tried to give us false hope. The manner of simply reporting on his death was also inline with how they wrapped up most of the storylines by the end. For some other stories, though, I am not too sure about the lead up to the endings, because some writers love their tragic endings and just spring them on you by the end. Some could be justified by the narrative but some just felt random. Still these are fiction and we can just reimagine something else in our headspace.
For real these 2 dramas broke my heart this year The beginning of this year I decided to watch TTEOTM I went up and down but when they had this open ending I was upset 😭 I wanted to see them in peace and together 😢 When I finished watching My Journey To You I just can't stop thinking about it everthing was finally somewhat in peace after me crying sooo much and Yun Weishan had to go to her hometown and it ruined everything 😢😢
I m now careful to check comments of c dramas and really try to stay away from c drama as they seem to be full of sad endings-life is very short and to watch 30 or 40 episodes to a sad ending is for me a total waste of time
There are many dramas with happy endings. But the only way to find them sooner is watch just old dramas, and read the comment section of the first episode. 😜 Also good to find reliable complete subs.
I was confused by the scene where Ye Xiwu was crying over the grave memorials, as if she and Tantai Jin had died after a happy life, yet they were alive and not exactly happy. I may have to watch it all again to see what I missed.
My goodness! A Journey to Love left me heartbroken. Really enjoyed the drama, it was captivating with great storyline, costumes, OST songs and fighting scenes - A must watch drama besides the tragic ending. My interpretation to keep me sane and content is the FL, ML, and 4 brothers, all reunited in heaven. FL and ML happily married with 2 beautiful children. Cheers to 2024 for peace, prosperity, health, and happiness. Happy New Year to everyone 🎉❤
The only thing that I hated about The Longest Promise was Zhi Yuan's fate, like he was the gentlest character and he got such a cruel ending My heart got broken
I agree, I feel bad for Zhi Yuan. He is not just gentle, but so utterly selfless in every way. I was touched by how (even though he was in love with Zhu Yan because he believed she was Yaoyi) he tried to stop Zhu Yan from breaking Shi Ying's heart (during that moment when she lied to Shi Ying about being in love with Zhi Yuan in order to save him). While both Shi Ying and Zhi Yuan are very noble characters and love Zhu Yan selflessly, Shi Ying shows a tendency towards jealousy (and is even capable of a bit of mischievous malice as a result of his jealousy... as shown with that unlucky couplet he chose to give to Zhu Yan to "congratulate" her on her upcoming marriage to another man), whereas Zhi Yuan is so angelic he's not even capable of jealousy at all. I comfort myself by looking at it this way -- at least Zhi Yuan did have a pretty fulfilling relationship with Yaoyi. As an ordinary mortal with the usual lifespan, it would have bound to happen that Yaoyi would die long before Zhi Yuan does, even had she lived a long human life instead of die early in battle. Because Zhi Yuan fell in love with an ordinary mortal with a short natural lifespan (compared to merfolk's), a huge part of his life would have been spent without his love, whatever happens. I'd like to think that him dying when he did in the drama meant that he could go reunite somewhere with Yaoyi for eternity. Really, there's nothing in the drama that says that couldn't happen, except our pessimistic attitude.
I almost got depressed for the tragic ending Tianta Ji had with Lisusu in till the end of the moon, like come on, tianta Ji suffered when he was the devil fetus n again suffered when he became the devil god, for the love he has for his woman n the world she loves, like give him some credit n let him have a good ending, even time I listen to some of the ost, I would feel the bad in my heart
I was also super duper enjoying A jouney to love and A jouney to you I was more than halfway when I read about the ending and decided not to continue. I have some heartbreaking dramas i rewatch at times like Weiyoung princess, empress ki, the wolf but wont continue these two. Rather rewatch my favourite 😍 2023 wonderland of love ..i dont mind sad endings at times because realistically it makes sense sometimes. but life is bitter enough. We already cry in real life and crying and being sad over a drama for weeks especially for some of us that becomes one with dramas and forget its just a drama sucks.😢😢
I avoid sad endings for the very fact that real life leaves us dealing with a lot sometimes, so I want happy endings in the dramas/books I spend my leisure time on! I did watch and like Princess Weiyoung though, but I didn't like the ending. xXx
My only hope is that my journey to you doesn’t become like princess agent. Left us wanting more yet never delivered the second part. Absolutely adored how beautifully done it all was. Love the darker kind of type of genre. And till the end of the moon ending was well. I think they wanted that magically like ending , it’s hard to achieve that and there was quite a few unanswered questions. Never less it is what it is.
Watched My Journey to you... and honestly, I feel the ending was not that bad compared to some. I had 8 bullet points on how it would need a 2nd season due to the ending though. There were too many unanswered issues that should be carried over. *The Longest Promise... I can't say anything about the ending, because I barely got halfway through this drama. I heard about the disappointments.. which even made me be thankful that I dropped this drama. OMG *Till the End of the Moon* I don't know what happened here. There seemed to be so much missing & even with top graded talent ... it still fell short. I couldn't' even give this drama a 5/10 rating.. which annoyed the hell out of me since the ML is one of the actors that I've always respected throughout a lot of his dramas. Yet ... this script just didn't do him justice at all. As for the rest of the drama's mentioned, never watched them... had them on my list, but now... I'm removing them.
Just a personal preference, I hate open / unclear endings. It should either be a happy or sad ending. Although I prefer a happy one. Cdramas has so many episodes. It pisses me off to be so invested in a series only to be disappointed at the end.
Simple, instead of producing an entertaining series to watch, many of these directors wanted to portray themselves as artistic, esoteric, non-common people. They are also affected by the belief that Chinese stories need to be tragedies (just like Greek). That is why I always skip to the final episode to see if it is worth continuing. For Travel to Love, I stopped at ep 34 after watching the preview of ep 40.
I tried to stay away from spoilers but heard about Ning dying in A journey to love. But I decided to power through today on Christmas because I thought I was prepared 🎄 my present? Crying buckets from episode 35 on word. It was such a great drama , but the time jumps /skipping over important scenes like emperor An’s comeuppance, the princess and duke’s whole romance /marriage, and then the writers went on a whole killing spree.🤦🏻♀️ Also I was sooooo angry at the ending of Bright Eyes in the Dark!!!!
Unpopular opinion, but I think TTEOTM ending was the only one possible. Yes, I know about the ending in the novel, but the ending of the drama is not a bad one, but an open one. And the rushed ending is because of the cutting, but I have to say I watched the drama before I knew about the novel and the cutting of episodes and it still didn't seem rushed or illogical to me.
@@Longlivethestrawberryseungmin OMG, I cried oceans throughout the whole drama, but I re-watched it several times already and I'm crying (almost) only during the last ep.

Oh my gosh, thank you! I had Bright Eyes in the Dark and Scent of time on my “To watch” list, and I would have been PISSED at these endings after investing all that time. They are totally getting dropped! You saved me, thanks!
actually , Scent of time's ending was not bad ... just annoyingly "open"...and it was foreshadowed over all the series ... I think everybody was angry (I sure was! ) that they never got to see a kiss. But they do end up toghether ...
Although the script writer was trying to make plot twist to make the story interesting they forget that people hate a twist that totally deviated from the main expected ending. So if you want a tragic ending like romeo and juliet your storyline plot should point to that kind of ending.
It's a copycat from Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet - a tragicomedy - but unlike Shakespeare, the writers and directors of this drama didn't have the guts to let the audience know the main leads are dead, leaving an unclear ending. They tried to mimic the tragicomedy style, but I don't think they understand that time has changed. People have different expectations and needs these days.
I'm satisfied with the ending of a journey to love,it's a great drama and I enjoyed it,, for me,there's no problem with ending ,,it's realistic even in our real life there's no happy ending,,😂😂😂😂
Exactly, was a real and noble ending. They are heroes in a war, not immortals. We need to overcome the Disney’s happily ever after, life doesn’t work like that.
Well some people like tragic ending, some people like crying drama, and some people like happy ending because life is already hard enough. I don’t like heartbreak ending drama.
@@unamed2516 of course, there are happy endings in real life, but in that situation, a war situation a “happy ending” almost never happen, there are always casualties in war. They fought when they were smaller in number, each of them died fighting for what they believed in, trying to give their compatriots one more day in battle. If Ruyi dos not kill in the end, everyone would have been wiped out before the Emperor of Wu arrived with reinforcements, that would been a tragic ending. But they won the war, both countries An and Wu lived in peace, with the hope that their rulers would mature and remember the sacrifice of those left behind. Isn’t that a happy ending too?
@@carloscatacata6135 You put this very well, and could not disagree. But this is it, isn’t it? Most people sacrifice themselves in war because they think other people might get a chance/HE, so this idea that deaths are glorious and heroic in itself is nihilistic. Is it so naive that some drama watchers want HEs for the protagonists too?
The Longest Promise is an opening ending, put your own ending there. And it didn't disappoint me, it just made me cry because he saw the bigger picture, one person to save mankind and he chose to sacrifice
I think you and the majority of the comments are absolutely correct!!!! If I am going to invest hours and hours of my time supporting these dramas/movies, please, no sad endings!!!!
Journey to Love should change their title to Journey to Death! Still so upset. Thought it would be an epic drama that I can rewatch many times, now that will not going to happen 😢.
I love a journey to love ... about the ending "the writer just made it realistic ending,,about war...heroes dies to save the people....in reality alot of people died just to fight for their country ...I know some viewers doesn't like this kind of ending...well reality doesn't always have happy endings...u just open your mind and try to understand the drama ...don't just wish for happy ending all the time
A journey to love should have been one of the best that I watched if not for the bad ending especially when each one of them are dying. It's really good except the last part of the final episode.
I dont know but nowdays some directors and actors think tragic endings will leave a lasting impression. But the fact it makes the audiences disappointed. Like we invested so much of our time only end up getting g cheated. Novoland (damn frustrated by the ending) My journey to you ( dropped halfway) The longest promise ( dropped last episode) Audience wants to forget their daily life stress by watching dramas, but imagine the drama is so pathetic you end up feeling frustrated.
I really loved A Journey to Love with the hard-nosed assassins fight for justice and the romantic touches. Watched it to the tragic ending, but would have preferred a happy ending for these characters. It's entertainment so why make us suffer in the name of art?
This is why I have trust issues with cdramas. I am happy that I didn't start any of this, but even when I started a drama, I slowed down from half, so I can know the ending. I did drop some dramas because of it. Furthermore, I love a good journey in the drama, but I am expecting a happy ending. If I want tears and frustration, I do have the real life for this.
I tend to watch the first episode and then jump to the last, or read the comment section. But I can't do that with a drama in emission, so lately I choose only already finished dramas, except when I love the actors. I specially hate endings when everyone gets killed for unknown reasons, or the time traveller gets kicked to the original timeline in middle or even before of the wedding night.
I didn’t watch any of the other ones, but I did watch bright eyes in the dark and the ending was very disappointing because you didn’t really know if he was dead or not and neither did she know if he was dead or not so I hope that these directors will take them into consideration and stop these bad endings in these dramas. I would rather have a sad ending than no ending.
Can cdrama ever make more feel good ending drama, i am getting exhausted with these horrible endings,it is obvious viewers want two third of the dramas happy , maybe a third, horrible to satisfy those who love sadistic heartbreaking ending, the fact remain that if people know how it will end up,they will make their choices clearly, this is out of control. We live in a miserable world, can we not just be happy in the made believe world, this type of endings exhausts and saddens viewers in the end.
This is what i hate about cdramas, most writers don't know how to wrap up their story. I really hate open endings and making two ending versions. Like can you just wrap up the story with a satisfied ending? Whether it's sad or happy but at least a reasonable ending? It's such a waste of time watching a long series only to get a meh conclusion.
I watched the longest promise and scent of time. For longest promise i think shi ying returned so it was a happy ending for me but scent of time really disappointed me. Never expected that it was all just a dream.
You have no idea, I think we need to make more of this type of videos, cdrama makers are not listening to viewers, the one that drives me mad was journey to love, for me it will remain a one time watch, I regretted ever watching it,lost you forever, cut me through, honestly ,something is wrong with cdrama directors and producers.
We viewers always forget the word drama. Please look it up in dictionary that is why I stop watching drama if it's bad ending I rather watch drama with comedy flavor. Most of the time I also watch the ending first.
I love Chinese period drama but I hate when they have sad ending, and unsatisfied with very short happy ending. A few dramas that have at least a longer happy ending are The Dream of Splendor, Love Like a Galaxy, and Who Rules the World. I wish more drama have a proper happy ending after all the struggles.
I agree. The perfect dramas. So much invested in watching. Only to be disappointed in the ending. To rushed & never an explanation. I watched all of these dramas
I think the problem with reincarnation stories or even time travel or dimensional stories is that those topics are very taboo in China and when they decide to adapt stories like that, they have to do it in such a way as to be able to have the show past censorship. although I find this very aggravating and satisfying and will now actually go out of my way to avoid dramas like that which is so sad to be honest
journey to love has the worst ending this yr , like how can you just kill every of my fav male am not even sure if the fl and ml lived at the end but all in all the loyalty ,friendship etc was on point i still loved it.i had to give it my own ending
A journey to you should have a 2nd season since it was upon a lightnovel a long one but it seems the product team decided to end it in just one season otherwise the novel was one of the best .
A Journey to Love was absolutely brilliant…until the end. They’d all overcome so much, especially the two main characters, only to be killed off at the end. That’s the most dismal ending this story could have received. This great story line deserved to end with a bang, namely the very much awaited birth of the baby the two main characters so desperately longed for and always spoke about. This great event of the birth of the baby deserved to be celebrated by the full compliment of additional cast members, who helped make this story line so endearing and captivating. Maybe the last few episodes need to be reshot and the story line and ending amended, to a happy and satisfying ending.🌸
I watched most of these dramas and I do not mind opening endings. Open Ending is great you can make it whatever you like it to be and the totally unexpected ending also makes you have a very different point of view and I like that. A predictable ending is boring.
I'm getting used to sad endings, not all with deaths of lead characters. If not a lead, I can almost guess who will die because they made us like them so much. A friend or relative, coworker etc....if cute is bound to die. I hate that!
In my opinion, such endings match with the flow of series instead of forcing into happy ending. I think those ending are much more realistic. Maybe because I love such ending.
I was planning to watch the journey to love but reading comments about it..made me drop the desire. On the other hand, TILL THE END OF THE MOON AND THE LONGEST PROMISED i have watched them already. They both had an unhappy ending but somehow i understood. The dogmatic stance of china indeed applied to the ending of the Till The end of the moon that EVIL lasts and destructive while LOVE in the rule of law was nothing but a moment of insanity and foolishness. While The Longest promise's ending was confusing, but knowing china being rich of weird beliefs like marrying a deceased for companion in the afterlife so the ending of TLP was. I think it was more like A glimpse of someone you dearly missed! If spirit could really go back to visit, when the most painful time was the youngest year, why took him 3 years to appear inspite the flower blooms yearly? I feel, there were best candidates to die there..its should not necessarily be shiying😂
I agree with all the dramas listed here; I have to add, The Forbidden Flower, another bad ending, so disappointing. Viewers invest their emotions and time connecting with the characters and storylines. Tragic and uncertain endings are infuriating and depressing! My kind of ending is a happy and triumph over life's struggles and love!
till the wtf end of the .., started super, great cast down to the horses, fell apart in last 10 episodes. “will you kill me?” (after getting ready to get married)”depends on my mood”(wtf marry her then???) “ok, let me kiss you and then we finally go at like mad” and they do it all night long. WTF, being married for ages already, and then --WHAT??? The devil god, knowing what he does now, why not just quit his job and float off into the sunset with LiSusu. The ending was pure shite. Is this telling the Chinese, everyone is unhappy, always, not just you, but all these characters as well? C drama is boringly predictable now. Give us more screwball, do not waste the really great actors you have on braindead crappy stories devoid of any sense! I feel for the cast and the audience.
Yep. I had the same experience with the chinese drama Rise of the Phoenixes. After 70 episodes!!!!! of building the love story between the two leads, she ends up committing suicide. I mean, WTF. It would have been one of the best dramas I have seen if not for the really shitty ending. They didn't follow the ending that was in the novel either, which had a happy ending where they actually got together. Why do that????? 😡😡😡😡😡😡
Same. I watched that drama last year and went through so many episodes when I saw the ending I was like wtf is this? I felt like I lost my time. I had no idea about the ending in the novel. Glad to hear that in the original work they were supposed to remain together.
@sayurivkg Bastard writers, lmao. I feel embarrassed to say, but I actually cried as I was so frustrated with the ending. Of course, the music didn't help either being so melancholic with that damn flute, lol. There were probably a lot of viewers that felt the same way as that's how I found out from someone who had read the novel that they ended up together. The casting was done well as far as the actors were concerned however, Chen Kun is gay so could explain why there were no kissing scenes other than underwater. 😆😆😆
Bright Eyes in the Dark left me wondering what the heck was the ending all about. Did he die and that was his ghost, I hate endings like that, it left me a bit confused and wondered if I’d missed an episode. 😢
Our life is full of problems and struggles, so we treasure the happy times and love. We enjoy good stories in movies and tv dramas. A happy ending at the end helps our escape from reality even if for only a few hours. I don't enjoy ambiguous or fully sad endings.
PEOPLE!!!! dont blame the actors and actressess, they are doing their best in portraying their role, what is written in the script should be followed😊whether its a happy or sad ending.
Chinese and Korean dramas in the past tend to have very tragic and sad endings. The requirements for happy endings, especially in C dramas, only happened like in the past decade. The more tragic the ending was the way to go. This I think was the chance for most Chinese who tend to be stoic and keep a stiff upper lip in front on friends and family to give vent to their emotions. So don't be surprise if those older writers and producers who are not in tune to the younger generation's thinking to still stick to the tragic ending rules since it worked for them in the past.
I dropped all of these drama's after knowing the endings were tragic. Happy endings are what viewers hope for the characters after investing so much time watching the stories.
I agree journey to love pissed me off with that ending it’s a shame everyone wanted ruyi and Ning to live happily after the war but nooooo stupid writers had to kill them off it’s like WTH 😂😂😂😂
This is so typical of C-Dramas - leaves you feeling annoyed. Like last year when I watched Who Rules the World --- what happened to the 2nd half of that story and what the flip was with the ending? Same with Love Like the Galaxy - it deviated from the novel quite a lot, and again with the nonsensical ending. So frustrating. I wanted a remake of both from the half-way point. If they're not going to follow the novel and also add censorship - *don't* make the drama in the first place. Duh!
i would say the drama i didn't finished was til the end of the moon.. was soooo disappointed after reading all the comments in the last epi that i decided what's the use of finishing this drama when you will only have a disappointing ending??? well it was back to Netflix for me more satisfying ending!!! sorry to say this...
Scent of time I kind of understand and like the ending. They are telling audience that thing can't change what you did in past no matter how much you feel sorry. The series drop hints multiple times. But the rest I not know why 'Forced' sad-end which make no sense
The journey of Love is not most hated. Don't understand the reality of life maybe yes they don't like the ending but surely they don't Hate this drama.
It seems to me that the directors/ producers ect are always vying for a second series at the expense of what should be a good conclusion to make an excellent drama. Instead they try to leave a cliffhanger hoping for funding for S2. That is except for Love lick the Galaxy which had smudgy end of stage play ending - where all the cast come on stage and take a bow - really awful at the end of a TV drama.
What I think about the shit endings is the obvious lack of care about viewers experience and expectation being over ridden by their concern for future profit. The so called open endings are hinting at future series this is their purpose! It has nothing to do with giving viewers a happy ending or sad ending but an inconclusive one that can only be resolved by another series. Such tactics are despicable and disrespectful to viewers who invest time and emotional attachment to the show and the characters. As a fan of cdrama this is very disappointing and I feel cheated and taken advantage of. It's one thing taking poetic licence for creative pursuit to change novels via adaptation in series but quite another to change novels for financial pursuit shame on you! If such trends continue many international viewers like myself will just stop watching my commitment to cdrama is the quality of the series not your petty concern for money think twice or you'll really loose a profitable market
It is not is not the sad endings that bother it that the Director intentionally nosedive, Titantic iceberg destroying all the hard work of the cast and crew and me watching this. I want to say it was written well but i can't justify this
My journey to you end i was like"and? Wtf in cliffhanger was that?,noooooo". Naaaaah since then i have to know the ending bse i can't with cliff hangers or endings that are not fair
Now that I know the ending of a journey to love I wont finish it. I was sooo in love with the drama and couldnt wait to see the happy ending but now that it isnt there let me find something else to watch
This is one of the best dramas that I have watched but I am terribly disappointed at the ending. It was too sad to watch, why did they have to kill everyone.
Bright Eyes in the Dark was a good drama - till the last minutes of the last episode. This ending made me angry. Other dramas I stopped watching were Wulin Heroes, The starry Sky and The longest Primise. I'm on episode 9 of A Journey to Love but now I know that there is a tragic ending I will not continue watching although it's a good drama.
To me, journey to love is perfect, If you watch cdramas well , from onset of the series, you should have known their would be an heartbreak and sad endings ❤, it's a reflection on how people sacrifice their lives to Make peace reign 🙏
I usually watch the last 15 min of the whole series. If the end seems happy, I start to invest my time in the series. Sorry Xiao Zhan, idc for a flower and your shadow at the end.
I couldn't bring myself to watch up to 3 episodes.. the lightening is poor and to me the story line is really poor as well
@@halimatadesanya9303I struggled watching it by episode 3 too. I know it gets praised a lot but I really couldn’t continue it even with Liu Yunning in it.
@@unamed2516 exactly ... Same with me
I hate sad endings so I waited until the drama had aired and then checked if the ending was happy or sad.
"Everyone dies because, C-drama? " So, no wuxia(?) drama has a happy ending? I cannot seem to find one 😢😢😢
It was so bad
I was also more than halfway and super enjoyed it but decided not to continue after hearing about ending
@@TheProudWife515I heard Wuxia dramas usually have tragic endings but I watched one drama called Listening snow tower and the ending is happy in that.
The writers really f*ck us up 😢💔😭😩
LOL🤣
And we get the second leads implied they got the baby instead.
Unfortunately we won't get a second season and closure
+1
Viewers should find peace that in the novel, they both live and go on to have a child. 😊
When I find out the ending is going to be a cliff hanger I will discontinue watching just to give my heart a rest
My journey to love would have been a perfect drama had the writer not gone crazy in the last 40 minutes.
GODDAMN IT! A JOURNEY TO LOVE ENDING WAS DISAPPOINTING!! They went through so much just to all die at the end 😠 😡 I had HIGH hopes for that drama
That would of been in my opinion a waaay better ending then whateverit was they where trying to do
I watch dramas to entertain, relax, not to break my heart.I just stop watching them when I see a tragic finale coming.
Too bad Nirvana in Fire didn't show us the last battle. I feel like I was robbed of that detail; for closure.
Thats why i always watch spoilers before i dive into a Chinese drama.. because you never know 😅😢
For real these 2 dramas broke my heart this year
The beginning of this year I decided to watch TTEOTM I went up and down but when they had this open ending I was upset 😭 I wanted to see them in peace and together 😢
When I finished watching My Journey To You I just can't stop thinking about it everthing was finally somewhat in peace after me crying sooo much and Yun Weishan had to go to her hometown and it ruined everything
😢😢
I m now careful to check comments of c dramas and
really try to stay away from c drama as they seem to be full of sad endings-life is very short and to watch 30 or 40 episodes to a sad ending is for me a total waste of time
There are many dramas with happy endings. But the only way to find them sooner is watch just old dramas, and read the comment section of the first episode. 😜 Also good to find reliable complete subs.
Honestly I hate open ended endings. I like conclusive endings. Take Till the end of the moon for example.
Yeeees!!! I do not want to, what ifs. Tell the story!!!
Dang ! Don’t these directors and producers read netizens comments? From previous sad ending dramas ? Why do they do this ?
The only thing that I hated about The Longest Promise was Zhi Yuan's fate, like he was the gentlest character and he got such a cruel ending
My heart got broken
I did watch and like Princess Weiyoung though, but I didn't like the ending. xXx
It’s just too disappointing for some of the BEST dramas to be left with such a bad ending😢 *sigh*
THIS! Wannabe artists.
Agree
Yes I agree 🙂even tho I cried oceans after the last ep😭😭😭

Thanks for the clarification! I think I’ll still skip it just to be safe. 🙂
Please create more content on disappointing drama endings as those comments really cracked me up 👌😂😂😂🎭🫡.
What do you mean there’s no happy endings in life? Not everyone’s life is doom and gloom and tragic that’s unrealistic.
"Journey to Death", indeed!
I love a journey to love ... about the ending "the writer just made it realistic ending,,about war...heroes dies to save the people....in reality alot of people died just to fight for their country
...I know some viewers doesn't like this kind of ending...well reality doesn't always have happy endings...u just open your mind and try to understand the drama ...don't just wish for happy ending all the time
A journey to love should have been one of the best that I watched if not for the bad ending especially when each one of them are dying. It's really good except the last part of the final episode.
I dont know but nowdays some directors and actors think tragic endings will leave a lasting impression. But the fact it makes the audiences disappointed. Like we invested so much of our time only end up getting g cheated.
Novoland (damn frustrated by the ending)
My journey to you ( dropped halfway)
The longest promise ( dropped last episode)
Audience wants to forget their daily life stress by watching dramas, but imagine the drama is so pathetic you end up feeling frustrated.
I really loved A Journey to Love with the hard-nosed assassins fight for justice and the romantic touches. Watched it to the tragic ending, but would have preferred a happy ending for these characters. It's entertainment so why make us suffer in the name of art?
I find out the ending is like in any C drama and if it’s a bad ending, I don’t even bother to watch the drama.
This video intro scared me when I saw "Wonderland of love" am happy it's not included in this video am almost at the end and hope to smile at the end
I didn't know about this one and it was on my watch list. I am totally going to skip it now! xXx
I have a feeling they are all sadists. They love watching us viewers suffer. 😆🤣😅
A Journey to Love, exactly what were they thinking. I could not watch and got angry that I wasted my time.
Talking about it, did you understand the end of the serie Ever Night? I saw the two seasssons and the story really catch me, but the end?!!!
Love Between Fairy and Devil almost blew it too but managed to give us just enough............. just enough.
I've given up on C dramas for awhile because this year was very disappointing. 😢
In my opinion, such endings match with the flow of series instead of forcing into happy ending. I think those ending are much more realistic. Maybe because I love such ending.
Yes,especially A journey of love😭...i cried eeh😭😭
😅😅😅The best comment eveeeer!!!
😅love your comment.
A Journey to Love felt personal, how does everybody die in such a great drama series!!!????
When I heard about Journey to Love, I stop watching around ep11. I can't do these tragic endings. I still can't forget, Novoland Pearl Eclipse.
PEOPLE!!!! dont blame the actors and actressess, they are doing their best in portraying their role, what is written in the script should be followed😊whether its a happy or sad ending.
True these have great start but fluctuated along the way and its disappointing to have these endings
this makes me remember the stupid end they do with Princess Agent time ago
Fireworks of my heart is such a sweet story . People literally have no taste
What you said really hit the nail on the head. The practice of prioritizing money over other values can leave negative implications and reputation.
It is not is not the sad endings that bother it that the Director intentionally nosedive, Titantic iceberg destroying all the hard work of the cast and crew and me watching this. I want to say it was written well but i can't justify this
I hate when otherwise top notch dramas (like Journey to You and Journey to Love) are left open ended. I feel cheated.
I agree many of these dramas need to have better endings like happy ones are far better!!!
My journey to you end i was like"and? Wtf in cliffhanger was that?,noooooo". Naaaaah since then i have to know the ending bse i can't with cliff hangers or endings that are not fair
2:39 they pulled a Bobby Ewing on us.
This year is tragic
Well. The tragic always left our heart the last or giving a life trauma.
To me, journey to love is perfect,
If you watch cdramas well , from onset of the series, you should have known their would be an heartbreak and sad endings ❤, it's a reflection on how people sacrifice their lives to Make peace reign 🙏
I definitely dont wanna watch heartbreaking ending. This will be on my dont watch list lol
I usually watch the last 15 min of the whole series. If the end seems happy, I start to invest my time in the series.
Sorry Xiao Zhan, idc for a flower and your shadow at the end.
