Shin Ye-Eun's acting in "The Glory" was phenomenal, I really hated her character and felt sick every time she was in a scene. From a viewer's point of view, the "curling iron" scene was the most horrific in the entire series, I cannot imagine how damaging to her mental health was filming it. What's really sickening tho, is that it happened in real life, to a real teenager. Kim Jae-Wook played another twisted character in "Death's Game", but maybe because of how he felt after "Voice" he was able to deal with the role in a safer way this time around.

True, but if I can be completely be honest some actors are so good that you think it's them. When I watched the world of the married, the actors were so good I couldn't help but dislike the actors especially han seohee, but I would also would like to add that I was 12 when watching it (so I was just a kid and immature) I never sent a hate comment and I was aware it was fake but I couldn't help but feel hate because as humans we attach personality to faces and if the only personality even if acting you see is disgusting behavior you cant help but attach it to the face. And korean dramas tend to be more extreme and more evoking, longer and using pathos than American shows so it was also smt new but not new to me. But now that I'm older I love han seohee and I follow and keep up to date and watch her dramas.

A lot of these comments are so ignorant and cringey AF. I always find it ironic that people who love k-dramas and claim to love k-culture don't even know the true hardships of being a celebrity in Korea. The heavy emotional and mental toll creates these underlying conditions and are only exacerbated by playing these roles. Korea still considers mental health topics as a taboo subject. Instead of getting professional help or talking to a professional, celebrities are told by their management companies to keep it to themselves. Look at the kpop industry. PS: to the narrator of these videos, at least TRY to say their names correctly... and stop with the vocal fry.
Honestly "Save me" traumatized me as well. So I can understand the actress of "Save me" getting traumatized. Seriously that drama was disturbing, creepy and just traumatizing. However I must admit that the drama was a masterpiece (but I'll never watch again lol)

The most important professional hazard of being an actor is emotional turmoil. One has to perform a myriad of characters, feelings, emotions and imbibing the personality traits of the individual which often becomes overwhelming and extreme.
Is crazy how bad is the people irl compared to their roles, social critics to actors for fictional stories is just insane, people cant distinguish fiction from reality and actors have to pay the price for it
Do these people don't know what acting is??? Imaging hating on actors/actress because of their character thats RIDICULOUS asf ofcourse it's their job to ACT so they WILL DO IT Just hate the character and not on people who are portraying the role. People don't really have a sense omg it really pisses me off!!!
Some actors may find it emotionally challenging to portray certain characters, especially those that involve dark or morally complex themes. Here are a few potential reasons why actors might experience distress: 1. **Emotional Immersion**: Actors often immerse themselves deeply into their roles to convey authentic emotions. Portraying a bad character can require tapping into negative emotions like anger, sadness, or guilt, which can be emotionally draining. 2. **Psychological Impact**: Delving into the psyche of a morally ambiguous character can stir up personal issues or unresolved traumas for some actors, leading to psychological distress. 3. **Disconnecting from the Character**: After filming, some actors may struggle to detach themselves from the character they portrayed, leading to difficulty in returning to their normal mindset or emotions. 4. **Public Perception**: Actors may also face backlash or criticism from the public for playing negative roles, which can contribute to feelings of guilt or self-doubt. 5. **Lack of Support**: In some cases, actors may not receive adequate support or resources to process the emotional toll of their roles, leading to increased vulnerability to psychological distress.
Man I remember all those mobbing/torturing scenes in The Glory…I watched some brutal shows and stuff but these scenes just went on and on, to the point were I asked myself if I watched some torture p*rn. I understood why they showed it so often, because it happens in real life. But there were so many and so flippin well acted that I started to look away because I felt so sorry
For me (my opinion) the bad guy role is the worst role in all cinema, because the actor can distort his true role and at the same time the people who insult you in reality.
I think it’s extremely important nowadays for these actors to come out on shows and show themselves as their real self. In the 80’s, 90’s it made sense that people would associate you with a character that was evil and you couldn’t do much about it, I mean especially in Korea where it was probably hard for people to find other things if you. Like even in 2016. Won’t he drama while you were sleeping. Apparently the main protagonist would get people saying he’s evil irl. Like in 2016? That modern, people still managed to think the character was real, and he was a real villain. So it’s important for agencies and hopefully everyone around them to get their social media PR game on point. Get them a bunch of shows that can show how different they are from that character.
actors get a script, read it thoroughly, memorise it and have a director to help them get into the character that is to be portrayed. They are literally playing a part that does not reflect themselves.
People hating someone for doing their job exceptionally well is so wrong in many ways.... You may have your reasons... But how many or deep your reason is that would only sounds like an excuse.
The Knetizens are much more forgiving towards movie actors than the K-Drama actors. Shin ye eun was already a well known name and it was not a big deal for her to have not taken the role in “The glory” but she loved the script and wanted to be a part of the project wanting to show and expand her acting range but boy it did not go well.
I can’t help but recall Anya Taylor-Joy saying that sets for horror/thriller movies are always so light. I imagine it helps separate fiction from reality. Imagine how exhausting and emotionally draining it is to constantly be immersed in a character set in a terrifying situation. That’s why I never liked scenes where explicit torture is shown. It feels too real
If you think about it most of these roles were playing a psychopath, actors should be wary about these types of roles before taking then just to have a breakthrough in the industry, i feel i could take any of these roles and will never affect my mind but thats not how everyone feels, actually most people would just feel sick and will become traumatized impeding them from acting on future roles
I believe that before performing a role of villain or hero they should get councelling first that are they ready to bear everything that happens in future
If those character ruin their life then they choose the wrong career. Sometime they need time to get their character out but that doesn’t mean their life was ruined. My thoughts.
Its interessting to see the other side.. for me its actually this, when i watch a show/movie, and theres a villian and i really hate them; it just shows me how good the actors are. its sad that some people dont splitt it (the first case)
I've just seen the beginning in " i saw the devil" where he cuts her to pieces while she's alive..istg I've never ever seen smtng so disturbing. I just stopped watching that mvi after watching that scene
It's because the environment off set is not positive enough. I used to watch a very serious drama and all those actors used to be chaotic off stage, like completely opposite of whatever characters they were playing, that's how they used to relieve their stress. Meanwhile Koreans can't do this, there's something wrong with their society.
People are sick to think an acoter is the actual role. They should be celibated instead of tormented for doing such amaxing work. Its no easy task especially in korean style of writing to do these roles. But its showing you the mental state of society blinded in a fiction world to not face the real world.
This is why I don’t like these kind of films, the actors are so talented but they don’t get the mental support they need after, and I don’t think it’s worth their lives just for entertainment purposes. There’s plenty of messed up stories and news cases you can watch for thrills if you need them. (Not trying to hate on anyone, I have loads of friends who enjoy horror and thriller, etc and we still like each other.)
For shin ye eun in glory, I think her role as bully is kinda weird. Her face is too cute to play as bully, rather than the traditional bully character.... you know.
that's the point, whoever commits bullying always has two faces, you can see this when she grows up and creates a false image for her husband and the world but for her friends at school she shows who she really is
Weak minded ppl who simply like acting shouldn't do the job just bcs they like it. 1st they should ask themselves can they handle the downsides. I only excuse actors in horror movies or shows bcs they work in the most anxiety and fear inducing environment and have to see terrifying images since sometimes the "monster" is physical effects but they too should also be mindful abt choosing such roles in the 1st place. And a fear of supernatural is way more dangerous and scary mindset bcs even against the most evil human being you can still somehow try to defend yourself but against something not human you're done for. So bscly what I want to say is don't accept every role just bcs of money if you have the slightest doubt that it will "mess you up" and then complain abt it. For ex. I know my weakness is some types of horror, ik I can't watch it and ik that if I was an actress I wouldn't be able to film any movie or show of that genre, even if you're in need of money there will always be some role that you may not like bcs it's not "big" enough but pays.
I think we should normalize starting every movie series and everything with a warning intro saying something like they're actors and they're just portraying these characters they're not the actual person doing this maybe it will help some people to understand it
Maybe that's why actors play around and joke around on the set to break the intensity and to snap back to reality.
that's why debriefing is very important they should have a counselor on the set after an intense scene

I love a well written villain. If you really hate a character in a show it’s thanks to the talent of the actor 💪🏻
Shin se eun did a great job as an actor ..
Its actress
@@ParkJong_Gun20 yes you're right my mistake
@@ParkJong_Gun20 nerd
@@ParkJong_Gun20 "actress" is only for women, but "actor" is a gender neutral term
@@W-I463 actor is a general term. The op already mentioned the name of the actor which we know is a female, so the correct term for him to use is actress
Shin Ye Eun is a great actress ,Like when I watched 'the glory '. Her eyes felt so empty , like devoid of emotions just pure evilness , her smile gave freaking goosebumps to me , I hated her character so much and that is why now I am her fan I guess.
That's right even tho am not familiar with kpop but I know what they go through I follow their news and I know how they are treated even actors
No shit, Einstein
I think this is called method acting, actors/actresses are so into their characters that completely changes them. Please get help after.
God this is crazy, it shows how much your mind can shape your life
Honestly "Save me" traumatized me as well. So I can understand the actress of "Save me" getting traumatized. Seriously that drama was disturbing, creepy and just traumatizing. However I must admit that the drama was a masterpiece (but I'll never watch again lol)
I love shin yeeun she was amazing in the drama revenge for others
6:55 imagine how good the younger version of Dong eun played the part that her acting affected yeun thanking she is really doing this and questioning herself
And also here 7:10 this just proofs how much of a good actress yeun herself is. Everyone hated her for her role even tho they know it's all just fiction, or maybe they forgot...
Good job shin yeun❤
The most important professional hazard of being an actor is emotional turmoil. One has to perform a myriad of characters, feelings, emotions and imbibing the personality traits of the individual which often becomes overwhelming and extreme.
7:22 I think people should watch her in the drama meow: the secret boy, she so bubbly and one of my favourites!!
Is crazy how bad is the people irl compared to their roles, social critics to actors for fictional stories is just insane, people cant distinguish fiction from reality and actors have to pay the price for it
Do these people don't know what acting is???
Imaging hating on actors/actress because of their character thats RIDICULOUS asf ofcourse it's their job to ACT so they WILL DO IT
Just hate the character and not on people who are portraying the role.
People don't really have a sense omg it really pisses me off!!!
shin ye-eun is a really good actress and played her role as the bully really well. why do people have to hate her for that?
Because they're not smart enough to tell apart actors from their roles. It happens surprisingly often.
Some actors may find it emotionally challenging to portray certain characters, especially those that involve dark or morally complex themes. Here are a few potential reasons why actors might experience distress:
For me (my opinion) the bad guy role is the worst role in all cinema, because the actor can distort his true role and at the same time the people who insult you in reality.
can anyone explain why the first actress' character was so notable and traumatizing? can't find enough info online
Seo yeji 😢❤❤❤❤
Seo Yea Ji is the best actress in korea if we look to acting skills.. amazing one
Choi Min Sik is such an amazing actor. He's played so many hardcore/violent roles and it was a breath of fresh air to watch him in Exhuma
I wish all of them success
actors get a script, read it thoroughly, memorise it and have a director to help them get into the character that is to be portrayed. They are literally playing a part that does not reflect themselves.
Its really the fans who make things miserable to actors
People hating someone for doing their job exceptionally well is so wrong in many ways.... You may have your reasons... But how many or deep your reason is that would only sounds like an excuse.
The subconscious does not know the difference between real & reel.
Not people commenting about something they know nothing about. Anyway, props to these actors for bringing life into the characters they played.
Ye Eun was great in Revenge of Others
Seo Yeji is the greatest actor
If you think about it most of these roles were playing a psychopath, actors should be wary about these types of roles before taking then just to have a breakthrough in the industry, i feel i could take any of these roles and will never affect my mind but thats not how everyone feels, actually most people would just feel sick and will become traumatized impeding them from acting on future roles
I believe that before performing a role of villain or hero they should get councelling first that are they ready to bear everything that happens in future
The actors getting tricked by their own coworkers insane because everyone is so good that it develops real trauma
Goes to show; fake it til you make it behave a way and emotions will follow
If you hate them, that means they are a damn good actor
yeeun scared me so bad.. like shes an amazing actor
If those character ruin their life then they choose the wrong career. Sometime they need time to get their character out but that doesn’t mean their life was ruined. My thoughts.
Why didn't you explain what about Lee Jong Mal's character made it so difficult to escape?
I think Park Sung-hoon from the Queen of Tears should've been included here.
Trust me save me still gives me goosebumps it is a masterpiece
Son Yeji has to be one of the best actresses, so immersive and realistic
Its interessting to see the other side.. for me its actually this, when i watch a show/movie, and theres a villian and i really hate them; it just shows me how good the actors are. its sad that some people dont splitt it (the first case)
5:30 After watching squid game I used to have nightmares. This series showed violence and Soo much blood . I became very scared because of it
Shin ye eun is just success for me. Dont do this guys. The real evil is you .
Wtf is wrong to people that hate actors because they are amazing at their Job?
I suppose this is an occupational hazard, every company needs to have in place counsellors
I've just seen the beginning in " i saw the devil" where he cuts her to pieces while she's alive..istg I've never ever seen smtng so disturbing. I just stopped watching that mvi after watching that scene
I love her since revenge of others
It's because the environment off set is not positive enough. I used to watch a very serious drama and all those actors used to be chaotic off stage, like completely opposite of whatever characters they were playing, that's how they used to relieve their stress. Meanwhile Koreans can't do this, there's something wrong with their society.
Save me drama is in another level of trauma
What type of crazy person gets angry at an actor for something their character does?
People are sick to think an acoter is the actual role. They should be celibated instead of tormented for doing such amaxing work. Its no easy task especially in korean style of writing to do these roles. But its showing you the mental state of society blinded in a fiction world to not face the real world.
“Thats very nice, Now lets see Paul Allens card”
Lee Joong Ok technically overcame the sickening character bcus hes able to portray what i believe is FATHER OF THE YEAR in Castaway Diva
damn must have been hard for them
*how u add the line rotationg around the numbers at the top?? please tellme*
2 weeks alone mostly indoors ...try 10 years.
i had to stop from watching save me for a while because of how depressing it was
For shin ye eun in glory, I think her role as bully is kinda weird. Her face is too cute to play as bully, rather than the traditional bully character.... you know.
that's the point, whoever commits bullying always has two faces, you can see this when she grows up and creates a false image for her husband and the world but for her friends at school she shows who she really is
@@yae0_0 why the f are you so serious ? Im just talking about her role in drama.
Stop hating just because she's pretty
I think you haven't watched 'The Glory' yet
@@ThepursuitofHappiness-fb8iy@yae00delulu is also talking about her character in 'the glory '
@@ThepursuitofHappiness-fb8iyno one is hating here? They just simply replied to ur comment?
Idk why, this made me sick to think about. Is this normal?
Idk why but Heath Ledger’s face came to my mind
I think we should normalize starting every movie series and everything with a warning intro saying something like they're actors and they're just portraying these characters they're not the actual person doing this maybe it will help some people to understand it
the finest example of not because a country is civilized, means people are equally civilized
Remember Umbridge from harry potter? yes, I still hate her. She is my childhood hate-crush. What an amazing actor
This shit was intense. I loved series
