I hadn't decided to watch "The Double" until the scene when Xiao Heng/Duke Su character is introduced. Wang Xing Yue’s charisma and incredible acting… he didn’t say much sometimes but, boy, you could read his face as the complex character’s thoughts. And he could deliver just a few sentences yet bring a gravitas to the scene that is a mark of skillful acting. Honestly, his acting is so authentic! Wang Xing Yue is physically comfortable with himself, which makes him able to fully inhabit his character. I want to mention that “The Double” also had a superb ensemble of actors, such as Wu Jin Yan, as Jiang Li/Xue Fang Fei/Xue Li. Yes, the chemistry between her and Wang…(it is about actors feeling comfortable with themselves physically.) yikes! (and Episode 17). She also had a lot of dialogue to carry convincingly and never wavered. Great job on delivering her speeches. I also thought Li Meng as Princess Wan Ning skillfully turned her into a Shakespearean tragic character. She portrayed such a complicated woman, who was severely damaged from her time as a hostage. Her emotions could change from cruel masochist to a wounded child in the blink of an eye. I felt very sorry for her despite her cruelty --- doesn’t mean I liked it, but I felt some compassion as to where it was coming from. THAT is great acting. And poor Liang Yong Qi as Shen Yu Rong. I hated him and, I fear, it carried through to the actor until I saw a behind the scenes video. He was talking to other actors saying something to the effect of, “I am an educated, accomplished scholar. How did I become such a pervert?” He was so sincere I laughed out loud. After that, my feelings for the actor lightened up a bit. But ALL the actors seem to be enjoying themselves and did a great job. They engaged the audience, overcoming cultural differences by making it a very human story. It made me want to enjoy more from the Chinese film industry. Great directing, music, and script.
How many times I've watched that the DOUBLE of wu jin yan and wang xingyue.. i really like wu jin yan, Wu jin y!n are talented, hard work and dedicated her work as a actress, that's why only wun jinnyan i voted among the actress chinese.. her beauty is unique, the wayy she talked, very charming hoping reunited again with love couple Xu kai this 2025❤❤❤

I've watched some of the historical dramas you've mentioned. Unfortunately, i wasn't able to finish or watch till the end . There's one historical drama, however, that i really find very entertaining and satisfying to watch until the end, and that is who rules the world, even watching it twice on netflix. And there's a new one, the story of Pearl Girl, i find it very interesting so far and not boring. I think i can finish the drama.

The only other series that has come close is Princess Agents with over 48B views. Not sure what your source of information is but you may need to do a little more research.
I liked all the dramas you mention but two, they may have been watched a lot because people had high expectation, but they failed. the Double and the Legend of ShenLe are outstanding indeed. ha don't forget, "love me kill me," it's one of the most outstanding dramas for 2024 and only for love also had a billion views.

It took me a while and three come backs after two episodes, before I finally gave in and watched Eternal Love. The way Yang mi bends her head and hunches her shoulder was, to me, very off putting. I also found the beginning boring, again due to the fact I couldn’t really see Yang mi as the 13 year old she was supposed to be. But once I put down my prejudices and gave the drama a chance, it was definitely worth it. It is one of the very few dramas I would watch again. It was brilliant!
It's funny, I'm surprised to see the legend of Shenli in N°1, because the CDrama quickly annoyed me after 4 episodes. I started watching this cdrama because of Zhao Liying, admirable and very powerful in Princess Agents, which I put in Number One, followed by Love like the Galaxy. I also admit that I don't really like Fantasy Cdramas, I prefer historical ones. Also missing is the legend of An Li, the long balade, etc.
Watched a show she with Deng Lun..her acting is mediocre. She is a very nice person though. As for her look, maybe I live surrounded by whites and I don’t find her extraordinary beauty.
