The majority of golfers will tend to hit the ball from left to right with the bad shots being a slice.
The GEM training aid is designed to eliminate the miss right and teaches you how to hit a draw like golfing legend Ben Hogan.
Our gear editor James Tait took it for a spin with designer Fraser Mann and Scotland’s number one RUclips golf coach Steve Johnston to give you all the details and his verdict.
So where better to test this than on the at Archerfield Golf links.

I have a question. There's some debate as to the correct position of the club face at parallel during the backswing. Even the best coaches seem to disagree. One side has it that the club face should be in a toe-up position, the other, it be slightly closed, to mimic perhaps the spine-angle. Don't argue with me, I'm ambivalent. Clearly, the GEM's creator believes in the toe-up position. My question is, if I want a slightly closed club face, can I set up the GEM so it feels 'right' in that position? Or does it only feel 'right' when toe-up? I've considered buying one but would like an answer to this first, and I may not be the only one. Thanks.

Yeah absolutely you would still have the rod pointing down and you'd move the face so it's a bit more closed. But with the toe being more upright it allows you to release the club harder, giving you more distance and a consistent draw.

Like the idea of this however as someone who’s bad shot is left, sounds like this isn’t something for me!

They inferred the toe up back swing would sort out the hook.

My miss is left as well especially with driver, but it sorted me. It's not just for the slicers of the golf ball.
