United hung on with 10 men until extra time when Norman Whiteside sent a curler from the right past Everton's goalkeeper Southall, also Wales No. 1 at that time, for the winner. Whiteside also became, at that time, the youngest player to score in an FA Cup Final with that goal. I remember these events so clearly even as I was writing them here.

Peter Schmeichel is by far the best keeper i have ever seen. The pressence he had in the box was amazing. Todays keepers look so unstable on corners and crosses, Schmeichel was always confident on everything he did.

My team using same parameters i.e. can't pick Keane; ........... Schmeichel. Neville. Rio. Stam. Irwin. Ronaldo. Robson. Scholes. Giggs. .....Cantona.Van Nistelrooy. Ronaldo played as a winger/wide forward for vast majority of his United career, only played as a number 9 in a handful of games in his United prime then as a 9 in his second stint when well past his best.
To leave out Eric Cantona is sacrilege. He was the one that produced the totally unexpected and was a phenominal orchestrator. Opposing teams feared him when he was on the ball, gave him ultimate respect and so he had plenty of time to do what he wanted when it was at his feet. IMO Wayne Rooney was overrated and should have been dropped on many occasions when he was not. As he got older he completely lost his confidence and wouldn't shoot when he should have done.
The fact that there's a Rashford but not Tevez is criminal - an All time United XI is very hard. Midfield is stacked. Strickers for me personally it will always be Cantona but you can't go wrong with Rooney and Ronaldo.
I'm a Liverpool fan (started watching football at the beginning of the first PL season) and my team would be - Schmeichel Irwin - Ferdinand - Bruce - Irwin Beckham - Keane - Scholes - Giggs Rooney - Cantona
bruce scored 52 goals though. Giggs and Scoles miles ahead everyone as far as quality. no problem with ince but robson? I dont want to pick roony but you have to by stats, roony missed out on the best era. but the stats dont lie roony won more than cole and yorke.
It might be a case of Roy is choosing his mates but at the end of the day if you turn up on the day and give 100 percent every time and be consistent and your a decent guy that’s all that matters. Work hard and give everything for the team and these players did. The current team should watch this.

It might be a case of Roy is choosing his mates but at the end of the day if you turn up on the day and give 100 percent every time and be consistent and your a decent guy that’s all that matters. Work hard and give everything for the team and these players did. The current team should watch this.
