People forget that the style of football back then with 4-4-2 and Modern 4-3-3 attack is a different style. 4-4-2 allows wingers like Giggs and Beckham to assist the front 2 strikers to score and 4-3-3 allows the front 3 to score with 2 full back to do what Giggs and Beckham did. So you can't compare Giggs and Mane's goalscoring record.

Giggs could play anywhere in the attacking set up of a team. He played as central forward, central midfield, left midfield, left wing, right wing , left back.
Giggs was one of those players that if given the chance could adapt to play as a center back due to his ability to read the game. Giggs won titles with Utd playing in central midfield when Keane left United.
Keane knows all of this and played with Giggs as well. It is like saying Cristiano Ronaldo would be left out of the team.

Aye Giggs played left side midfield in a 442 for the majority of his career, very different to the role of a modern winger
That and neither Salah or Mane are actual wingers
Comparing the stats to Ginolas makes Giggs look worse. He had 13 g+a for Spurs in the league, more than 25% of the goals they scored while finishing 11th. Giggs had 4 goals and 1 assist for the champions who scored 80. Overmars scored 6 and assisted 13 in the league in the same season for Arsenal, from roughly the same position. 10:51 But in fairness to Ryan Giggs though he never played the advanced left wing position as Sadio does for Liverpool, he used to play in a left midfield position in a flat 4-4-2 so obviously his attacking output will not be the same plus the era was of styles was different as well
@pastore perplexity The only aspect that I give Mane the edge is the two footed proficiency. Because he can finish with his left or right foot while Giggs although he could finish with his right was mostly a left footed player. Other aspects such as work rate, speed, dribbling is more or less the same
i think mane was a lot more powerful winger and could finish + output as a goalscorer a lot better. his movement is superior inside the box and he has excellent instincts. 1v1 id probably edge it giggs, and output for overlaps and crossing, but as players go, mane was better, technically as well
and he still got well over 100 goals and a loada assists
