Hi dear, congratulations for this modification, I have just bought mine from your website. I would ask you if there is actually a way to monitor oil pressure values on Giulia 2.2 (2016). Thanks
Hi Nick, may I ask you a question: Why this modification doesn't have a CNC part that fits inside the suction pipe in order to guarantee mechanical coupling? How is reliable only this seal which rests on the suction pipe?
hi, great video thank you very much it helps me the screw you used which is attached to the chain on the engine with your crosspiece could you give me the size of the screw and the thread please thank you very much
Verry good video. what were your symptomps before the upgrade? My diesel just recently started to complain about the oil pressure selonid...i changed it twice with new oil.... Still the same. I was thinking that the electronic oil level indicator is fubar as it always shows 100 percent oil level...i mean i trust my work..but after changing the oil 3 times im 3 months i would auspect that the oil level would not always be 100/100 correct...
Normally the message "low oil pressure" appears on the display, only when starting after a long stop. Then it becomes more and more frequent. If it occurs above 2000 rpm, there is a risk of damaging the engine. The defect is that O-Ring that hardens and sucks in air as well as oil. If you replace it as in the video the defect will never appear again.
@@paolocarloalfonsobuccini5661 yeh...but I don't get a low oil pressure warning...and it alsow does not appear if I rev out the engine...it only appears on low load durin lg lift off throttle at around 2200 rpm.....totally strange.
@@justacomment1657 Giulia/Stelvio models are equipped with a variable flow oil pump. During deceleration the oil flow continues to be the same as at the rpm you had a moment before. Check from the display menu whether the oil pressure value remains high when you lift the accelerator; if it drops immediately perhaps the pump is broken.
@@paolocarloalfonsobuccini5661 the thing is, the ECU in Multiscan does not give you a correct oil pressure level. It lonely gets you high normal and low. I already drove the car with logging on and the oil pressure is normal when this happens. The error refers to the oil pressure selonid (the actual thing that makes the pump variable...as the pump is analog and driven like 40 years ago...this thing just opens and closes a bypass...). The engine state during error - according to Multiscan is: Rpm:~2000-2200rpm Engine load: 0.n % Oil and water temp: something about 80-90°C Oil Pressure: normal This does not make any sense to me. Alsow if the oil pump is broken (the pump wheel is directly chain driven...) it's basically impossible for the pump just to stop at this specific rpm. And yet, if I give the car the absolute beans and go 247kph (flat out) it will not complain about anything.... Anyway, what display Menu are you referring to? Is there a software which does show actual oil pressure?

Hello there, I have a 2.2 diesel Giulia (manual, 180hp). After replacing the centrifuge filter (to install the newer, post-2018 model) and installing a catch can, I'm still getting oil in my intake (air filter and MAF sensor). Could the oil pump seal be the reason for this? Thank you so much for your thoughts on this. I've just recently bought the car and I'm getting super frustrated with this issue...
@@MechaNick_ I'm taking it to the auto mechanic this week. Since it's only at 68000 km, I'm hoping it's nothing serious like piston rings... Thank you once again.
@lukas_aigner9868 Well, it's not the turbo... That would've been the "easy" fix. We tested it for a while without the crankcase ventilation connected to the intake and it remained dry, so most likely the oil is coming from a leak in one of the piston rings, which is a pain in the ass... Performance wise it's all good so far, but I'm taking it to the dealership to test the cylinder compression.
