    Let me know if you're OK with this level of quality for tutorials, or if you prefer the more edited/produced style of video. I prefer doing these because they're quick & easy, but I understand they're maybe not as fun/easy to watch.
    If you want a TON of videos like this, I've been updating my HCA Feed over at live.mrbillstunes.com/hca-feed/ every other day with them :) Enjoy!

      any tutorial you make is a blessing anyways. If this allows you to make more tutorials, that would be the best thing in the world!

      Can you make a video on OTT.
      Thank you 😁

    Really enjoy how you don't try to explain everything you're doing but rather go at you normal workflow. Great for intermediate users who are likely familiar with a lot of what you're already doing but are eager to get to the point and also observe you in your natural setting, which is impressively fast and efficient.

    14:47 may not be so clear for some. His EQ dip was based off of that resonant tonk in the mids - changing pitch would shift that. Printing the sample and FX onto the sample (flatten) means that as the pitch is changed, the FORMANTS are also shifted (the static EQ imposed onto the sample). Because of his mid range dip on the EQ he wants this. You may not always want this. You may wish to treat the frozen audio independent of the FX. Flatten prints the FX onto the sample. Also note, they gave us an audio fact sheet on this stuff in the Live 11 manual - "Frozen clips are always played back with Warp on and in Beats mode, which means they are subject to the same non-neutral behavior as any other Warped audio files. " p.783 Live manual. So - if you want those artifacts from beats mode, you are fine changing pitch frozen. If not, flatten and change your warp mode.

    Mr Bill, an eq is not phase inverting anything as you Said, it’s just a band that gets moved up or down in dB...

    • @tibbarnogard8404
      @tibbarnogard8404 2 года назад +1

      Yes but to actually change the volumes the program needs to internally multiple the sine wave by its inverse. That's (apparently, i didn't know this until recently) how filters work

  • @irishmossdubwise

    That's a hell of a sub

  • @parsaledm
    @parsaledm 2 года назад

    Just know that operator can be just as useful and powerful as the name brand synth plug-ins such as Serum and Massive.
    It's just knowing how to use certain sound effects in both aspects of how they effect sound and how they work.
    All the rest is layering, patterns, sound design, mixing and mastering (definitely a bunch more, I just can't think of them atm) Edit: Frequency Modulation galore.
    Have fun with it.
    And no matter how much it seems as if there is nothing more to learn, keep searching for things to learn.
    (Comment for those who may be getting into making edm)

    How do you record Ableton and the audio at the same time on a same computer?? I've been trying its really hard to do..

    • @tibbarnogard8404
      @tibbarnogard8404 2 года назад

      I know andrew huang has an audio interface with two headphone outs, and he sends one out to a physical single-purpose sound recorder. Don't know if you have that kind of gear but it seems like a reasonable way to do it. Better than messing around with channels and accidentally overloading the computer

    • @RPLXN_wav
      @RPLXN_wav 2 года назад +1

      Yah I know that's also a way to do it but the problem with this method is that it's twice conversation and what I mean by that is you convert digital signal to analogue and then you feed that analogue to a digital recorder wich also concerts the signal to digital then you put it on RUclips and then RUclips compression again messes with the audio so I don't know how it will sound at the end on RUclips.

    A lot of times, you say a sound is "good" or "bad" and, well, I'm not always sure what you mean? Like I'm not understanding how you're discerning what's good or bad. At 8:15 you illustrate one example I guess, with turning all the processing off, and I can see how that is obviously bad, but there are other times when you're mucking about making a sound or auditioning a snare or something and I'm just like, it just sounds different 🤔 but you generally go on to add more processing and do indeed make it sound better. But yea I'm just like where is this discernment coming from and what are you listening for?

    • @tibbarnogard8404
      @tibbarnogard8404 2 года назад +1

      I think its a mix of personal taste and experience listening to a lot of music? I know i often have a gut reaction wheres its like "oh thats a good sound" but then i look at the clipping and i get scared im doing something "wrong". I need to get over that. Sounds are sounds. If it sounds good it is good.
