Did this yesterday! Super easy thanks to this video! If you have a manual transmission...nothing blocking the driver side bolt...don’t have to drop the subframe or anything...make sure you pay attention to the left and right ball joints if you’re changing those. ( They’re marked)
Good video. I've got a creaking sound when I hit any kind of speed hump in the road. online searches say it's the control arms. Not looking forward to this job, but this makes it much easier to understand now. Thanks !
@@MrLordPablo Hey Pavel. Turned out it was not the control arms for me, but it was the top mounts of the suspension. Creaky noises from suspension are usually only a few things like control arms, bushes (probably number 1 thing) and top mounts.
I appreciate the video but wanted to add a few points. The VW spects require new bolts where the bolt torque requirements are "torque to yield" as well the torque specifications are to torque then turn 50 degrees. thanks, Jim
Thank you for the comment! You are right and sometimes there are constructive differences between the sides of the car part being replaced and that's why the procedure of replacement can differ significantly. We will take it into consideration in our new tutorials. Stay tuned and follow our latest updates. Best regards, Autodoc.
Because the Driver side is a bitch! Front bolt is blocked from pulling out. You have to drop subframe to do job. A blind monkey could do the passenger side.
Unfortunately, we don't have any exact requested video for VW Passat B7 but we recommend to have a look at the general playlist for VW Passat B7: ruclips.net/p/PLWep5LzT0sxmyqdSh187Su3I0Pd-Dh6oP

You're handy, but don't overuse copper grease. You should use thread locker to tighten the bolt and nut. Copper grease on these areas are extremely dangerous.
Hey I have a question my left front driver side body basically is covering the top of the tire could it be broken strut ? Broken spring ? It’s only the left side every other part of the car sits normal
In general, the replacement will be the same for both sides, it is not advisable to show the replacement on both sides. More accurate information can be obtained in the technical documentation for the car or by contacting the service
Sorry but not, on the right side, when you work with a DSG gearbox car, you have lot of work to do, to remove the front wishbone bolt you have yo move the gearbox. It would be nice if you show that for people, will be helpfully. Thanks for your answer! 🇺🇾
Thank you for your comment! It all depends on the state of the lever, if outwardly it is whole and the geometry is not broken on it, then in general, only the silent block can be replaced. Best Regards, Autodoc team
When repairing the car, all the bolts must be tightened when the car is lowered to the ground, that is, all the silent blocks are in the correct position, and in order not to lower all the cars to the ground, for greater convenience, only raise the part that is being changed.
As to the Copper grease spray can shown in the video. Which one of the following links that you posted is supposed to refer to the Copper grease spray? Is this the Copper Grease? LIQUI MOLY Chain Spray: @t I know this is not the Bronze Grease. WD-40 Grease Spray: @t Is this the Copper Grease link? LIQUI MOLY Fast Cleaner: @t If none of the above, then please provide the brand name and link to the Copper Grease Spray.

I have the same weird sound when driving over the speed humps on the road. Not sure exactly what I have to replace.

I have to get my driver side wishbone replaced. How much do you think I am looking at to replace bushings as well?
Brilliant. Helped me immensely. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing your opinion with us.
I like how you cross threaded 2 of the bolts 4:27 and 4:40 and over torqued them @5:38.
Thank you for sharing your opinion!
i saw that too hahaha. it made me cringe.
Yeah that's great it's the passenger side that's an easy one how do I do the driver side do I jack the engine or do I drop the subframe?
There is no such video on the channel, you can find this information in the technical documentation for repairing your car.

6:25 - When he puts the splash guard back on the old part, and its crud, is back in place.
What about driver's side? All your videos show control arm replacement on the passenger side?!
Thank you for the comment!

No mention of replacing the single use bolts ???
Никакого упоминания о замене одноразовых болтов
Each bolt is meant to be replaced when removed due to them being stretch bolts
You're handy, but don't overuse copper grease.
You should use thread locker to tighten the bolt and nut.
Copper grease on these areas are extremely dangerous.
Thank you for the valuable clarification.
We will take this into account in the following videos.

What did he put on the bolts after he put them back on. The bolts looked a copper color. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment!
We lubricated the bolts with copper grease 3970 Liqui Moly.
Stay tuned with us!

We recommend that you contact the service of your car, and clarify the problem of the problem.

Why dont you show working in the left side? Is the worst one because of DSGs

Dont forget to get tracking done straight afterwards as the car could veer to any side.
Yes, you are right, it is recommended to make an alignment adjustment after this replacement.
Can you change only the bushings?
Thank you for your comment!

Why do you push the suspension up before you tighten the bolts
When repairing the car, all the bolts must be tightened when the car is lowered to the ground, that is, all the silent blocks are in the correct position, and in order not to lower all the cars to the ground, for greater convenience, only raise the part that is being changed.
Why don't somebody show us how to do the left front lower control arm on a 2018 VW Passat automatic transmission

Thank you .
you screwed up on 4:25
Good 👍👍👍
Copper grease between steel and aluminium will set up galvanic corrosion. Go back in a couple of years and you'll see some mess🤦♂️
Why didn’t you replace driver’s side? THE PASSENGER SIDE IS A BREEZE. NO OBSTRUCTIONS. THE DRIVER’S SIDE IS A BITCH!
Gee thanks for showing the obvious easy side🤦🏻
