@Drake Lang - when I first watched this show, I had no idea who the actor was and never heard of Bryan Cranston before in my life, but I was literally astounded by how well he was acting....and I thought to myself, "how is this guy a no name actor?" bc he was sooo good at acting...I knew he had to be "somebody", but I never saw him in a big role before so I thought it was some nobody...then I found out a day or two later that it was the dentist on Seinfeld and he had already won several Emmy awards for this show (I first watched binge watching during the final run of season5)...and that made sense bc while watching, particularly this episode early on, it was some of the best acting I can ever remember seeing in my life in anything, film or tv.

Bryan is simply that kind of actor who doesn't draw attention to himself, the actor. He manages to vanish completely in the role he plays. That is why no one knew his name before Walter White.

You are correct Steven. The Jessie character was not supposed to last, but the chemistry between him and Walt caused them to rewrite his part. Best decision ever!

One of the things I love about this show is they make it so realistic. The logistics of trying to start a drug business. What it would be like to kill someone. To try to get rid of a body. To hide this stuff from your family. It's all so intense! The characters so beautifully realized. The photography, the dialogue, the pacing, it's masterful. I'm curious to see if Nikki and Steven stay on the same page as the series goes along. There are so many different directions to go in.
Breaking Bad is the best at character development.

I like their reaction to this episode. This is where it hit me hard too the first time watching. It's ultimately the episode that kept me watching since I usually don't stick with shows. The contrast between light and the heavy darkness was irresistible. But just wait til you see what it becomes.

Yeah, the plate thing was the first thing which impressed me in the show.
I don't think Walter _knew_ that some of the plate was missing when he saw the pieces in the trash. Instead, I think he realized there was a possibility that Krazy 8 had taken a piece, so he reassembled the shards to find out one way or the other.
This. Walter is a very Very intelligent man. In this moment I believe he was going over possibilities in his mind and when this scenario popped into his head he knew to double check. Hunches have given Walt an advantage in so many situations.
Has there been a better duo than Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in the history of TV? I think not.

Walter is that regular person who sees himself trapped in a shitty situation that needs an action. It's not like he was born enjoying this, so it makes it all more real.

Stylistically this show can be all over the place. One episode can be somewhat light hearted and silly and another can be unbelievably deep and emotional. There's so many little details throughout that you won't even notice the first time through. It's a brilliant show.

I barely remember this season but watching it again is reminding me how PERFECT every frame is.
This journey is the best in any TV show. Watching the character arcs and interactions is so perfectly written, acted and played out. Oh boy is there so much fun and so many brilliant moments to come. You’re both in for such a ride!
This is by far one of the best television shows ever made! Glad you guys are finally getting to watch it. You won't be disappointed. It gets much, much better!
It's just sad how Crazy 8 is one of the criminals the most forgotten of the show I mean even if he was in only 3 episodes in the show the way how they are killed his cousin, how he saw horrible scenes like seeing his cousin's blood falling on the roof, and the way he was tied and got killed. He was probably a criminal but he wasn't like Tuco to deserve such horrible things like this.

I love how you make the opening like a twist on the shows opening. Great idea. Just finnished your GoT series, and very happy to rewatch this series with you people :-) Breaking bad is very good, and it actually has a proper ending too.
If we didn't know anything about Walt, and instead we're given Crazy 8's POV.
What would we think about a character who makes meth, kidnaps a person, has them chained up like a dog (or in this case - a bike) and then proceeds to murder him?
Fernando we would for sure be on the side of Crazy 8. However they in my eye would both be horrible people. One, cooks meth to sell to the community, the other steals meth and most likes murders the meth cook to sell to the community.. All bad!!!

Sometimes we need peeps to step up and become a "necessary evil".
Would we rather have the local drug dealer be one who sells to kids and wouldn't think twice about killing the innocent (elderly, woman and children)? Or would our community be better off with a drug dealer who refuses to sell to his neighbors, let alone children. One who gives back to his neighborhood.
Would we rather have a cop who does everything by the book. Even if it leads to rapist and molesters being released in our streets?
Or would we rather have a cop who will make sure our kids are able to walk safely to school...by any means necessary.
In other words...it's all about morals. Those with some and those with none.
Plus, who WOULDN'T want to have some kind of weapon when they're in that situation?
@@OG_Fernando Everything should be about morals, but in the end, morals are subjective. What's one person's morals against another's? This is why I love this show so much. Because we are forced to think - what's the lesser of two evils. 😉
YO!!! The creative writing and fantastic acting of all the cast including crazy 8 should put this show in top 2 television shows of all time in my opinion. The characters are so freaking believable you forget they are acting. Hands down one of the best tv shows of all time (outside of GOT). Great reaction guys

23:30 - what is amazing about this show (one of many) is that Skyler NEVER would have thought that Walt would even be able to consider having an affair. She would assume that he didn't have the spine or the hutzpah to go outside of their relationship. Basically, she wouldn't think that he was man enough. She always knew him as, or molded him into, a stay-between-the-lines man. Not lacking virility but almost anti-virile personality. Only after was untethered from his life by cancer did he feel free to do whatever he wanted.
