@@ComradeOgilvy369 no 12 got a lot of hate. Still does. I think imo people got scared that fights became more dynamic. Even though that’s a better model imo.
I don’t think it’s the best but it’s for sure up there and deserves more credit. Maybe if the story was a bit stronger.
@@alphawolf2067 I think it was the story that scared people away. It's less cliche love story and world ending, and more political with local consequences. I was the perfect age to appreciate a political story when it released, but how many teenagers cared about politics to appreciate the story in this game? I think as people have gotten older they have come to like it as they can now enjoy the politics.

The Archadian leitmotiv is truly amazing. So distinct and recognizable. I can definitely see it as being part of the Archadian anthem or something.

XII is like an explosion of Star Wars tributes, vastly dwarfing II, IV, VII, et cetera. Ooh, that gives me an idea for an Ivalice X Xenoblade X No More Heroes crossover. XD

To everyone who suggests that this could be a great villain theme, don't forget that the first time you hear this in FF12 is when the player is introduced to Gabranth. Bonus points if you know the first time the other version of the theme first appears.

FF12 is the best Star Wars game ever made
Probably one of my favourite themes in the game, and it doesn’t even come off to me as a villain theme. I associate it with the vastness and grandeur you get of first arriving, where you’re suddenly brought whiplash of how vastly advanced the empire is compared to Dalmasca. Just overpowering awe

Final fantasy xii for me is the last great game of the classic franchise. You maybe not liked the story, but the combat system, the world of ivalice and the monster bestiary is the best thing. And those imperials of achades, they stole the whole show!!!
Very true, I for one loved the story. The aspect battle and war that wasn't there in pre-FFX games.
XII’s story is basically II’s, but forty times longer, lol. Both plots are directly inspired by Star Wars, though, but eh. :3
I like the story. Between tactics and 12 I feel that Ivalice has a good amount of plots based on political tension and I personally enjoy both games stories for that reason. I also just find the architecture of the cities and places you go to to be quite pleasing and do I even need to mention the sound track? I love themes like this, the boss battle track and a lot of the area themes.
I also think that the gambit centric combat system is quite good. Yeah its on autopilot, but you chose how it autopilots and can change that how you want to adapt to new circumstances if something you didn't expect pops up. I also like the amount of side content that game has despite how cryptic and hidden a lot of it is.
@@deathseraph3 It's such a shame that the Gambits system doesn't show up in other games. Could be such a cool and fun thing for games with any extent of grinding.
Me just seeing Gabranth going up to Darth Vader with this theme and being like "EAT IT!!"...
As much as I do enjoy Vader's theme, idk...This one has more power, imo.

My honest to god biggest gripe with this game was the fact I couldnt deck my gurls and guys out in imperial armor and have it show ;-;
Whether it’s the mix or just the new arrangement, I feel those bass trombone quarter notes are horribly under pronounced!! One of my favorite parts of the piece. Really gives it a raw, visceral feel.
It's because all of the brass in the new OST is synth. They basically blew their budget on a huge string group.

I hated the laboratory stage but the music & Dr Cid definitely made up for it.
I used to hate this song when I first heard it (& FFXII when I first played it), I felt that it was a departure from Uematsu's composition style. But year after year both this game & The archadian march grew on me. FFXII is actually the last good Final Fantasy game.

Every FF has a huge reference on Star Wars franchise, a lot of easter eggs like Wedge and Briggs, they are former resistance pilot on Star Wars 4.
Plus, a number of the series’ antagonists mirror Vader and Palpatine a great extent including Garland, Mateus, Golbez, Sephiroth, et cetera.

@Randy Paputungan 12 does it the most, I'd argue though. The Archadians, Fran and Balthier, Gabranth is the closest thing FF has to Vader over even Golbez.
