Nobuo Uematsu is a genius, a Final Fantasy staple and established composer, no doubt. But I find that his musical sensibilities are almost always on the nose when it comes to the mood of the character and the exact scene of the story that is currently taking place. For the contrast he has provided, I've come to appreciate Hitoshi Sakimoto so much, because his style is so much more broad. The stories of Ivalice are not so much about the characters alone because Ivalice is a setting with so much culture, history, and depth. He promptly reflects this in all the tracks he composed for the Ivalice setting.
The only track that Nobuo Uematsu composed for FF12 was Kiss me Goodbye (the song in the credits). Every other theme or piece in this game is completely composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto.
Probably the most upbeat soundtrack in the game. It brings to life what would normally be a generic overworld area in between places you need to go to. The entirety of the ffxii soundtrack is just so well made and it really helps properly set the mood that the developers want to convey in each area.
@@frankiejamespinedo7391 Some people might not think much of them though. In any case, a good or bad soundtrack can transform otherwise good locations for better or for worse.
@@ChocolateMilkMage I think the areas are amazing regardless of the soundtrack, its distasteful how "some people" may not think much of them as you say, just based off of good or bad soundtrack. Everyone is a critic now and bad ones at that.
Man this song kept on playing in my head at random times, but I could never remember which part of FF12 it was till now. Great music does that, it stays in your memories waiting to be rediscovered.
I know it sounds insane, but I will often associate media (tv shows, video games, films) with a food. Not always, but sometimes. The Ozmone Plain, pretty much since the game originally came out, calls forth thoughts of Pumpkin Pie, as I was eating some while playing it once.
@@KunjaBihariKrishna Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2, which like all the Tactics games is set in Ivalice (but not quite the same Ivalice as FFXII, I think)
This there brings back more memories about FFTA2 than FFXIV quite frankly It was always those rainy wetlands and swamps but here it's more like savannah.
When I play an area for a while and think about a character, I assume it's that character's theme. In this case Larsa joins again after meeting him in the land of the Garif. Ozmone Plain seems to capture him so well.
I love this track, especially the parts starting at 0:46 ...but the Ozmone Plain annoys me so much. So many nooks and crannies, uneven land and twists...the spacing:density ratio of the enemies and the lure of all those treasures everywhere got snakes poppin’ out from every blade of grass, dammit! 😤

@BlueHarvey you gotta read the whole comment... he's comparing uematsu to sakimoto.
@@BlueHarvey Well not entirely composed by Sakimoto but he was the main composer yes. Remember everything is a team effort.

This is what happens when the developers have all the time they need to make a game.
You get a masterpiece like no other :)
Not even, the areas and fields in between FF XII are beautiful alone. what?

@@frankiejamespinedo7391 FF XII has just the best world in all aspects possible. Music included. Such a masterpiece

Beautiful how our mind works.
The Garif probably would love pumpkin piem
more stories like this plz
also, it's almost thanksgiving! treat yoself! 🥧
Same! I associate this game with a brand of cookies that no longer exists in my country :)
@@alliec7086 well, Drambuie makes me think of Eternal Darkness, and Corned Beef makes me think of the Star Trek TOS episode ‘The Man Trap’ too 😂
This area of the game is easily overplayed in my playthroughs because of this music. So many good feelings♥
Thats real rpg game ost
I love that they brought certain tracks from 12 over into TA2. Mosphoran Highwaste and this one, for example.
What is TA2?

No doubt they had hella fun making up the sounds and songs in this game ❤️🌹❤️
i get happy hearing the song. idk why.
It's just how Final Fantasy music works, it makes you happy, sad, pumped up, its the magic from the music itself.
Ffta2
Me: Don't kill the Ozmone Hare
Balthier: *Runs after it shooting it in the back*
I love the ozmone hares whenever I play I’m like: NOPER

Ok so I came here precisely because this song reminded me of FFTA2. Is it actually the same song?? I swear it is...
@@macdondb It certainly is; probably a different arrangement or w/e, but definitely a battle theme in FFTA2
0:45 and 1:03 hit different

those snakes, those snakes
my favorite track in this game :)
Noo don't hurt the little bunny
i tried to get a ribbon in this area making a red chocobo appear and it beat me bad haha.
Right in the nostalgia!
I come from the future and this song is not in the new Theatrhythm. That should be a darn crime.
Ah, my chaining horses for hours music.
Espetacular este som, eu amo Final Fantasy.
Parabéns aos produtores!
Obrigado.
zertinan caverns says "hi" low levels heheheheheh :]
Things will start ganging up on you lol
BagusThanatos snakes and wu’s but it’s a great place to train at low levels if you don’t do the Dustia method.
@SpaceKitten 1111 lol
why in the eff would you attack the bunnies
love da song tho
love it
0:45 reminds me of The Lion King a bit
FF12 is the last real FF
Exactly. After that the formula of FF changed and so the era of FF ended. The title remained, but nothing more.
WHY DOES THIS SOUND LIKE CHRISTMAS MUSIC?!
Welp, this is a perfect song to play because Christmas is going to be here before you know it.
@@Auroralights321 yup 👍
this sounds so much like star wars!
Like naboo
The only track in this game that doesn't sound phoned in. Shame that unlike most of the overworld map track it isn't repeated ad nauseum.
