Hi Mike and Angie I've never commented before and I'm sure you already know but just in case... We wanted wood but because of climate builder recommended porcelain tile that looks like wood and installs like wood floors. Comes in a range of beautiful dark gray colours. You can't tell its not wood and easy to clean.

I replaced all my solid wood floors with tile that looks100% like wood and it’s a game changer. Easy to clean and absolutely no scratches from anything that touches it. I need 4000 sg feet just for the first floor but well worth it

Wow you two accomplished so much since last update. Love the new desk in spite 😂of the drawers underneath return and rolling file cabinet. The bedroom will be awesome after flooring gets done. Amazing report. I am overwhelmed with the progress you both have made. Actually, I'm starting to feel better about your situation. I should start sleeping better now. I'm redoing my small dock (I had someone install steel pilings). I'll do the deck myself. A few boards at a time. Recent bad storms have damaged some roof shingles the house . The roofer says I need a new roof. We'll see what the adjuster says. Thanks again for the tour. You are amazing to make the repairs and tackle all the rehab etc. Thanks. Vince in TX.

Build yourself a floating dock to use to paint that outside wall on the boathouse. Once done you have a floating dock to enjoy on the lake.

We are going to trim the windows in a slate color. What to do about the vinyl part next to the class is another question because it's white and difficult to paint.

I couldn’t believe it when I saw your new bed…we have that 300lb headboard too!!! Lacquer finish, lights in the headboard. It is pretty cool! I swear to God there is cement in that thing. How did you get it in place? We are moving and I don’t think we will be able to tackle it.

It is too bad your bedroom floor didn’t come out gray as you wanted-can you not go back to the company that did the work and ask them to possibly redo it, especially after paying so much?!! I think the black hardwood would have been stunning, but with dogs, dark floors are always a concern.
If you do change your mind on the outside paint, please stay away from a gray that has a purple hue to it. Just had to share our thoughts, sure hope you don’t mind.

The gray really makes the house look out of place so we are trying to go with more of a redwood or cedar look. Also the wood color matches the foundation rock walls.
You two have way more patience than I have. I do enjoy following your adventures. When you purchased this property, did you have any idea as to how much work would be required to repair everything? I would have to conclude that living in a motor home is a much simpler way of life. Keep up the good work.
We knew the house needed a lot of maintenance but the prices people are quoting us to do repairs was very unexpected. Before we purchased the house, the quotes were 1/4 of the price. Those people are nowhere to be found now that the work actually has to be done. We figured we saved ourselves about 150k so far by doing things ourselves!

Yes, the RV has been sold and we are thinking about removing that door - we'll see what happens!

.. maybe juss my pet peeve but fill a pump sprayer with very strong ratio of bleach/water and spray all over your rockwall and everywhere that green algae/black mold stuff is .. the stone will bleach best in sun and will brighten up in a week and keep doing that on a schedule to freshen up your awesome estate . I would spray that lake also when the neighbors wern't watching but thats juss me .. the bleach will do all the work and won't need pressure washed .. juss give it time to work with the sun ..
Or…maybe the almost same gray on the outside, soft gray with bright white trim? The gray is more contemporary.

My hubby was also a 25-year retired O-6 in US Navy Reserves as Nurse Practitioner in Flight Surgeon's Office on his off-time from Pfizer Vaccines. Good gig, full retirement pay, only 38 days/year. And my Son-in-Law is a Detective at Wildwood Police Department - only 1.65 square miles, but a 5-mile boardwalk and beautiful white sand beaches .......... 3/4-mile walk on sand between boardwalk and ocean.
