Gid vid Dan. I went lure fishing on the GU canal in Milton Keynes the other day & blanked. Quite a few boats going through churning up the water which, as usual, was quite murky. Got my 1st ever Zander from the GU last year.
@@DanGoesFishing I use to walk around it regularly on my lunch break . Early spring you can see loads of pike spawning in the shallows around the reserve bit. The maddest thing is the big terrapins found basking in the sun on hot days. Keep up the video work 👍
Cc80, got it. Am picking up a PR100 in an hour for my W3 Powercast 8'3" 20-80g rod i bought yesterday. Will try it out and see if it works nicely for my downsize pike fishing. Almost never use shad larger than 18cm, often smaller ones 12-14cm gives best in the rivers and lakes here in southern Sweden, Blekinge. Our coast is famous for its pike fishing, but the rivers and lakes mostly hold smaller pikes. Will probably buy a Black Max for my upcoming W3 jerkbait rod in the same 20-80g rating. Will probably upgrade to the new 5th generation revo reels thou, so much better than previous generations. But first ill try out the cheap reels so i get a feel for what a cheap combo looses out to a expensive one. No need to buy LP reels advertised for pike fishing, for the usual light pike fishing. Glad i got out of that unnecessary expense, only needed for heavy 150g+ baits.

Hi, what area are you on the canal?
What part of the canal are you on
What daiwa reel is that? Doesnt look like anything i can reminisc from their line up, with that brake dial on the side that looks like ABU ones do.
