Remember Jon died so his Nights Watch vows died with him. Jon’s oath ended with his death.

Plus no one else in the realm gives a damn what vows he made. If people were to find out his lineage, and they don't like the current king/queen, they will look to Jon without a second thought.
Guys Jon Died by the Hands of the nights watch, whom he executed after his ressurection. His death means that his watch has ended, so his claim still holds.
His watch ended but renounced claims don't magically become "un-renounced". -Steejo

the song jenny of oldstones is about a common girl who married a targaryen prince like 50 years before the story. she likely burned alive in the tragedy of summerhall along with most of the royal family, rhaegar was born outside of it and he probably wrote the song
Fun fact the song that podric sang was written by jons father rhaegar and most likely it was that song that made lyanna cry at the feast in harrenhal

But yeah I think since Jon "died", that completes his Nights Watch vows, which is why he was able to be named King in the North, and so he can also be named King of the Bloody Seven Kingdoms!

"Can we just end Game of Thrones here" is the truest statement in the history of true statements.
"Claims" are important as long as people think it's important, laws are still very fragile in this world. Remember how bastards were treated like 2nd class citizens until the Northeners needed Jon? Similarly, Daenerys might have a legitimate claim but even then Cersei has managed to challenge her. The War of the Five Kings could very well repeat itself over and over as long as there are strong enough factions challenging for the throne.
Technically, Jon dying excuses him from anymore service with the Night's Watch.

Sorry but Jon died magic brought him back no matter how ya cut it he's a fracking Zombie compared to everyone else who never has died. Just saying once he came back he hung a little boy who did stab him but he watched his own mother and father killed by wildlings then ate not a fun of Jon hanging the boy he could of put him in a jail cell the Jon before had a heart not sure if he hangs a boy this Jon might not actually have one !

You know it's funny, Robert wanted his son and Ned's daughter to get together. And while it wasn't the one's Robert thought would get together.. It happened :)
It's true that Jon renounced the throne when he joined the Night's Watch, "from this day to my last day." He was released from all those vows when he died at Castle Black.
I love the song about Jenny and her Ghosts, especially Podrick's voice and the image of Sansa with Theon. Also, remember when he returned to the Red Keep and gave Tyrion back his purse full of coin after having some fun at the brothel? I think Podrick sang for the ladies and that's another factor for which they gave him their time without charge...☺
After Jon was murdered by the traitors in nights watch and came back by the lord of light, the old Jon who was beholden to his oath to watch died, when he came back he was free to live a new life not beholden to prior oaths.
This was a very touching reaction and it was nice to share it with you guys!

Well, Jon DID renounce all his claims and titles when he joined the Night's Watch. However, it is an oath that lasts till death. He died, remember? So technically his 'his watch has ended' as Jon himsef said.

Neither matter. His WATCH has ended but him renouncing his claims and titles was still him announcing his claims and titles regardless of him coming back to life or not know what he was renouncing. -Steejo

@@SuzySteejoThe argument is that the renouncing of claims and the pledging of service were attached to Jon’s prior life before he died, not to his current life. The interesting question is why his claim to the throne should be restored - If his death and resurrection were sufficient to detach him from the oaths and obligations of his prior life, why should the privileges and claims of his prior life remain attached to his new life instead of him being resurrected essentially as a blank slate with regard to both claims and obligations?
Also, even if you believe that Jon’s prior renouncing means that he has no titles to claim in his new life, that doesn’t preclude the Lords of Westeros from bestowing the title of King on him independent of any prior claim. Given how scrambled the succession has gotten over the past few decades in Westeros, who the Lords want has as much de facto strength as any putative de jure claim.

People who do say that all of season 8 is bad, forgets episodes like this and the genuine good parts of it. While it is for sure not as great as the past ones, still has a few moments :)

24:05 exactly, she wants that cause that's what being the queen of the seven kingdoms means. "Sansa doesn't want that" yep, cause she doesn't like to have a woman commanding her, but she didn't have a problem when it was Jon (a bastard, at the time) rulling over her (a trueborn).
Sansa doesn't want Dany as Queen because she doesn't trust her, not because she's a woman and Sansa and the north have last 25-30 years history for part of that reason, add Dan's Dragons scaring the people and then trying to flatter Sansa .
Then we have their talk and Dany showed Sansa what was most important to her and it wasn't the people, or the north or even Jon , it was where she wants to plant her arse.

The oaths to the nights watch is the reason John had no right to the iron throne as told to him by Maester aegon targerion, rightful ruler of the iron throne and sworn to serve a higher purpose, the realms of men. He should have told Dany that and it would have been enough. I never break my word either

Jon definitely had a claim to the throne for so many reasons......
Jon did renounce all claims to titles and lands when he joined the Nights Watch, but he died at his post. Remember the vows? "Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death". When he got resurrected his watch had ended. He is no longer a member of the Nights Watch. He basically got out of it by a technicality. Now that he's King in the North he is bound by no laws of his previous occupation that he technically fulfilled. 😀

Jon died..that oath is moot. and he is no longer in the nights watch... That's why he was able to walk away from it.. jon can be the heir.
the writers kinda forgot about how all Daenerys wants in the books is to have a family and to be loved and protect (she was also willing to give up her crown to live a peaceful life with Daario), her reaction finding out about jon will never make sense to me

Dany has been almost unstoppable since season 3, and what did she do with all that power? she chose to stay in meereen for the greater good.
if she was willing to give up her crown for Daario (a man she didn't truly love), what would she do for a family member who doesn't even want a crown, and therefore, is no threat to her?

Ill never understand why they spent like 4 seasons giving Jaime this huge redemption arc, turns him from a villain to one my favorite characters, baits us with him leaving Cersei for Brienne then just goes back on all of it in the final episodes

When Jon died, his Night's Watch vows were fulfilled and done. That's how he could leave. But technically, when he kneeled to Danerys, that put him below her. But power doesn't really lie with only one person. And true names are very powerful. When Isis found out the true name of Ra, she then held great power over him.

You need to read the books to understand Daenery's character arc, as the author gives you the chance to be in her mind, and read her thoughts (he does this with all the main characters). The show scratches only the surface of her psyche, turning her into a caricature of her book counterpart...

Suzi, YES! Danerys wants all the power. In the Sumerian myth, Inanna's Descent into the Underworld, Inanna, the Queen of Heaven wants to go down there and take it from Ereshkigal. You should totally read a summary of it. Ereshkigal doesn't allow it. She says, "Don't you have enough already?" Basically. This whole Dani/Sansa stuff is pure Sumerian myth. I love it! Winterfell is the perfect Underworld. The crypts being the most ancient/important aspect of it. God, it's so good!
This is easily the best episode in the final 2 seasons. It's all downhill from here I'm afraid. Brienne's knighthood is such a sweet moment.
Tyrion is my favorite character but tbh. he is really stupid since they run out of book material

No one gets angry over cartoons. They get angry at your dunce girlfriend or wife I don't even know or care. I remember the drama with her like 3 or so years ago and clearly nothings changed. She heard from everyone her brother was a rapist and kidnapper now she is hearing its all a lie and Leanna was in love with him. That means the Starks were Usurpers just like the Greens and killed Dani whole family just like the Usurpers in every war they kill the ones in charge. Lets compare the Noble Ned now to Jamie for example when Jamie and Ned fought a solider stabbed Ned in the back of the leg did Jamie kill a wounded Ned ? NOPE because Jamie was honorable when it came to fighting sorry but Ned showed us he wasn't by killing Dayne who was protecting the next Queen Leanna !
Ned Stark didn't nor has he ever claimed to kill Ned Dayne. Ned always stated he be dead if not for Howland Reed.
No Ned had nothing to do with Dany's family dying, that goes to Tywin Lannister, Ned rose up with Robert after the death of his father and brother, the " kidnapping and rape of his sister, neither he or Robert were in KL when Tywin gave that order.
As far as important Houses, it is the Starks in the North, Southern Houses were constantly fighting, Aegon and his sisters saw a way to conquer it, and got the North to bend the knee without bloodshed, and from what I remember the North has the same prophecy of the future that Aegon and Rhaegar know, so yes at this point it's not just the Targs, but also House Stark.
Sansa isn't very politically knowledgeable you can't just say oh we ar succeeding deal with it
George R.R. Martin once said that he intended for the ending of A Song of Ice and Fire to be bittersweet and without spoiling anything I'll just say that no better word encompasses this episode in retrospect.
I agree with you on your take on Dany! Anyway, next episode is very dark, adjust the brightness on your TV, can't wait!

Might want to consider doing episode 3 as a two parter on YT due to the length. Not 100% necessary, but just depends. Turn your TV video setting to cinema and turn the brightness ALL THE WAY UP!

@@hypocritexother reactors that watched it in the last 3 months couldn’t see half of it. A few of them had to turn off the background lights to see it. If they re released it they didn’t make it light enough.
