I think Theon has had one of the greatest character arcs in the show. I really enjoyed his arc!
I think Theon has the most well-rounded arc in TV history, maybe. Alfie Allen killed this role.

It truly feels like Theon's journey is the more human aspect in the entire show!

Also, Brienn's knighting scene, is possibly the most emotional scene in the entire last 2 seasons and of my favorites in the whole show. It's so earned its crazy good! Its the first time she is genuinely happy too.

I will state this. I never had many real issues with the outcomes of the final seasons, just that they rushed it all because the show runners wanted to move on. If they had given most of the choices more time to breath and play out, i think it would have come off much better.
I agree completely. Just imagine you are missing set-up episodes between 3 and 4, 4 and 5, and a couple between 5 and 6
They still would be the wrong choices, but it would have been a lot easier to process. And the plot holes wouldn't jump out so jarringly.
@@Nightmarigny Yeah, dragging this out longer wouldn't solve the fundamental character problems, nor the complete betrayal of the premise of the show from the start.
Especially when it comes to Deanerys' mad quuen arc. I actually wanted and expected her arc to go that way, but the execution was just SO ass - it's barely explained or explored, she just randomly snaps after winning.
Some choices would still now make sense with proper development. Arya killing the Night King, Jaime "not caring fo rthe innocent" and going back to Cersei etc.

This is the last good episode of Game of Thrones.
This episode is so emotional: Brienne being knighted, Sam talking to Jorah, Pod's song, Jon and Dany talking in the crypt. The next episode has some emotional scenes as well. All in all, while season 8 is the worst season, it has its moments.

@@Richardwho-vv5bhi don’t know what to tell you, but the internet didn’t break because of how epic it was😅 the internet broke because the battle tactics were so stupid, people could hardly see anything and Arya killing the night king was a decision made only to subvert expectations. Don’t know if you were reading what people were saying when the episode aired, but i remember very clearly no one said it was epic or amazing 😂 it was all criticism back then and it still is
Tormund telling the story about the giant is one of my favorite moments in the whole series. It makes me cackle every time.

Here are some tips for adjusting the brightness settings for Game of Thrones:
Use the movie, cinema, or calibrated mode: These modes limit brightness while preserving details.
Freeze on a dark scene: Then, go into the picture settings and slowly increase the brightness. This will help you see more detail in the shadows without losing contrast.
Reduce the contrast ratio: This can make dark scenes easier to see. However, balance this with the brightness changes.
Adjust the black point: Try increasing it a couple of notches.
Adjust the gamma: This can work well too.
Or just watch it as it was intended. Personally, I loved the dark setting. Viewers really get a sense of how it would be to wait for/fight an enemy when you can't look further than a meter or so.

I have loved the music for the whole series. The song that Pod sings is one of my favorites. Another good one coming up soon. By the way, I love tune that plays at the end of your reactions. I stick around to listen to it every time.

Theon definitely redeemed himself. He is one of the most redeemed characters, he and Jamie.

Cody the last time the hound fought for Arya there was no money at stake. Her mother brother and Aunt were dead as he stated before he fought Brienne plus Bran and Rickon were thought to be dead.
Cersei's plan only makes sense if the living win. If the dead win, they add the North to their army and she has done 0 prep.
I think Cersei is in a total win/lose scenario so her choice makes sense. She sends her army up north and they lose, she loses. She sends her army up north and they win, she wins temporarily but then loses because her army becomes vulnerable in hostile territory after already being theoretically decimated in the battle. She doesn't send her army and the north wins, she becomes theoretically favored by her rivals being depleted. She doesn't send her army and the dead win, she loses but what are the odds her army would have pushed them over the top. It feels to me like her decision gives her the best chance of surviving and staying in power.
10:43 - why must she forgive? Tyrion has cost her everything. No one else would be forced to accept such stupid advice to their detriment. Dany is acting rationally in every interacfion based on her history and characters relationship to the others.

All things considered with what's coming in episode 3-6, this episode is actually pretty good. It's a solid "calm before the storm" story that you get in all the best stories.
I will never understand why some viewers want the brightness up in the next episode… not being able to see is what makes the sheer horror effect more real

Daenerys asked him a direct question, but he instead turned to Sansa, he adressed Sansa, pledges to fight for her home and askes her for permission to be there. Would you take that as coming there for Daenerys? I would not and so didn't Daenerys, just look at her face ;-)

Um but Dany is also fighting “for the North” therefore that also included Sansa. Sansa is just being an ungrateful brat.

2:33 This scene (like most of the studio shots of Game of Thrones) was shot in Titanic studios. Which is about a two minute walk away from the slipway where the actual Titanic was built. The main soundstage building was formerly a paint hall of the Harland and Wolff shipyard. It's likely an intentional homage.

Feels weird having seen Arya since season 1 when she was 11 years old and in the end she still feels like that little girl, but she is 18 so it isn't weird of her to want to know what it feels to make love before possibly dying

Yes, the brightness absolutely needs to be turned as high as you can get it (and maybe turn the lights in the room down as much as possible while still permitting the camera to work) when watching episode 3. It is really dark and hard to see.

Sansa, the smartest person Arya has ever met, somehow wants Daenerys to let the north be independent. Isn't Jon the one in charge of the north? Doesn't she like... Have absolutely no say about that matter at all? But right, piss of the one queen that doesn't want your head on a spike xD
Daenerys is always telling "I just want to break the wheel. I just want to punish the ones that murdered my family and took the throne from them. I'll be a different ruler". So Sansa askes about the North to see Daenys reaction to her question. Is she open to negotiations? Could she consider letting Jon be King in the North or does she want the whole power for herself? Daenys reactions tell her exactly how Daeny feels deep down - it is all about the power and the throne. She wants it all. Sansa wanted to get a feel of Daenerys' intentions and she got exactly that.
Notice how everybody who just slightly questions Daenerys and her intentions gets shamed from the viewers? But those are legitimite questions to ask. What about the North? What about the homeland they live in? What will be after NightKing/Cersei are defeated? Those are all questions that Jon should be asking Daenerys as well, not just bend the knee and follow her like a lovesick puppy...
And why does everone always forget Sansa's own words? She says she learned a great deal from Cersei. And what was the main thing about Cersei? Family comes first, always. And to never trust anybody outside your family. Cersei might be evil but those are valid lessions to learn in a wold like Game of Thrones.

Second of all, I'm not Team Dany or anything, so you don't have to try to hit me with that.
Third of all - nothing of this makes any sense. The reason for this scene was for the writers to "foreshadow" that Dany would not be giving up her crown for Jon. And it's a poorly written way of doing so. I'm a hobby fantasy writer and I could've done a better job, and I'm just some random dipshit on the internet.
So CALM. DOWN.
Just explaining why in my opinion this scene and this conversation makes total sense and it (as you state it yourself) perfectly shows us why the events of the rest of S8 make sense later on. No need to feel attacked, bro....
@@evatesche the rest of the season makes no sense. It couldve made sense if you would've had one or two more seasons to develop it to this point, but that made no sense. And this scene, again, is written so poorly, involving the, again, wrong characters.

I recommend ignoring all of the "the last good episode" comments. I let them sway me away from completing it, but when I did I enjoyed it. The next episode has a great atmosphere.

I can honestly say that the next episode had my heart rate going, and I haven't felt that way since when it comes to watching a series. I really hope you enjoy it and if you don't, that's okay. Just don't do what others have done and condemn the ones who were happy with what we got. It's definitely an unpopular opinion.

I mean season 8 is kinda goofy overall and definitley feels rushed but there are undeniably good moments they just coulda been so much better like LOTR level finale if they took their time
