Got this on repeat. This cover is simply brilliant. It should be used as a public advert to save the pub trade, it epitomises everything that is great about our fantastic pub trade. Still like the original raw one too 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
I used to have a couple of local pubs like this. So many happy memories. Unfortunately times changed, not for the better and they are now gastro pubs or Witherspoons. Soulless places. We even got chucked out of Witherspoons for singing Christmas carols after a few shandys. Sad times.
Damn straight! We still have nights like this once a month. A girl comes down and plays her guitar and you can get up and sing along with her, if you’re brave enough. It’s my favourite night of the month. Cannot wait to get back down there and for all this to be over. We deserve a good night out now. 🥳 🍻🕺

Me too!! I think we have to use this video and simply state where we usually go and who we usually see. In my case it's the Manchester Pub in Chelsea Quebec Canada.

Between 1990 and 1994 I had my best and worst four years at a job as a chef in Scunthorpe at the mallard .I was 16 drunk most nights lock ins juke box blaring out songs like this and oasis stone roses this brings tears to this old mans eyes fabulous guys just awesome Thankyou

I love the Waterboys (have 7 of their CDs) and been listening to them since the early 80s. I've heard many covers, and own several (none of which I listen too), but your cover gave me goose bumps! And you did that with only two voices and a piano! Thank You!

I got here from watching the other version where they were playing this song live in the pub. I 've obviously heard the song before (although I'm an oldie) but just didn't realise how good it sounds live and what a great job, really enjoyed it.

April 1st 2021 I've had 6 people die on me in the last few months. Sad yes....
