Not one comment here mentioned the legendary and multi-talented Jimmy Hall. His voice alone stands miles above the rest. Such an under-rated singer.

Like Charlie Daniels said about Jimmy,,,Jimmy got more soul in his little finger than Mick Jagger got in his whole body !!!!!!!!!!!

Gregg Allman said that "Jimmy Hall is the hardest man to follow on stage that he ever worked with". He said that "it can, and has, been intimidating for other performers". Jimmy Hall is one of the great singers/multi-instrumentalists in music.

On top of being the consummate showman, Jimmy is also one of the most genuinely fine gentlemen in the world.

Jimmy Hall from Wet Willie. In the summer of 1975 the Super Dome in New Orleans was opened for their first event. I was there. They opened with Wet Willie. Then Charlie Daniels played followed by Marshall Tucker. The closing act of course was The Allman Brothers. It started at 4:00 PM. It was still going at 4 AM. the next morning when I left. Something I will never forget.

Anyone else notice that the lyrics are a complete contradiction? First it describes the person telling the story losing what he HAD, but then says you can't lose what you NEVER had! Still love it.

Glad you all are enjoying the video! Wish the sound engineer had turned Chuck up during his solo. They had a LOT to keep up with on that stage, so they may not have realized he was soloing, since they had brought up two guitarists. Devon was smokin'!

Cool! Robert is awesome but not the first to put effects on the steel. I saw the great Herb Remington using distortion and other effects over 25 yrs ago in Houston, TX!

Sneaky Pete from the Flying Burrito Brothers used distortion and effects on the pedal steel nearly 50 years ago!
