Warren Haynes is one of the best ever and sadly he never got the recognition he deserves!!!....and he's still rocking. He's keeping the awesome Allman Brothers sound alike!
You got a point here. Derek Trucks is great, I love both of them, and Derek may be more versatile, but when it comes to the Allman Brothers sound, Warren is the man.
While I can’t disagree or say anything negative about Warren, there are other great Southern rock bands. A couple that come to mind would be Drive-By Truckers (not a fan of their politics but love the music) & Larkin Poe. Southern Culture on the Skids is a good band too!
Dang. Warren Hayes channeling Duane Allman. Strong. He can play it exactly like Duane, out of respect and awe, but also add his own equally great original licks to the ABB standard. An absolute beast on the guitar.
Whether playing rhythm background or lead slide or straight, Warren really supports the sound with that classic Les Paul. The Allman sound definitely lives through him. I'm super excited about the future of this project, born of two founding members.

Seen greg and the guys play alot of small time fairs throughout the country a real true working band.rip southern heroes

A reincarnation of the Allman Brothers. Derrick Trucks played with the Allman Brothers when Dickie Betts left the band and Warren returned Allman Brothers Hitting the High Note.
This is about as close as it can come...but, I respect the differences too....WH, is a fantastic talent to be sure....The big difference here is that only the original ABBs could make a live concert sound all studio fixed.....

This statement may piss off some Allman Bros super fans bit I think Warren Haynes was a better overall vocalist than Greg. Greg was awesome back in the day but he has sounded like a shell of the voice he was on his early days on the seventies. When I hear Warren sing Allman Bros songs when he plays solo or with the mule I think it's much better.

Great sounding. All that overdrive on the leads seem to take away from the tone. I like the clean sounding slide but seems Warren is playing in standard tuning. My camp says play the slide like Duane using open E tuning.

I just saw them Last Saturday in Simi Vally California. It was a good party. Devon and Duane are not front men.
Also, I would not say that they are the southern rock band that I was expecting.
