My entire life has been shaped by Gregory's voice and The Allman Brothers' music since I first got the Beginnings album at the age of 14. I saw them at the Superdome with a crowd of 104,000 fans in 1975. It was the first rock concert in the famous venue and so much pot smoke was pumped out of the Dome's roof vents that pigeons were getting stoned and falling out of the sky around the building. I truly cannot imagine my life without the Allman Brothers Band. Fate put us here at the same time.

Bottom line. The Allman Bros. Band were the greatest ever in my book. Live at the Fillmore East, best live record ever. So glad I got to see Duane play twice before he died so young. I saw young Derek Trucks with the Allman Brothers in the 90s. Dickey and Derek Trucks we're in the band at that time. SUSAN TEDESCHI opened for the them. Later on what a great marriage came to pass which produced such a wonderful band.
I saw that lineup few times and it was great. I also remember them bringing Derek out one show when he must of been 12 or 13 years old. The kid's a ripper.
I was there in the beginning, when the Second Coming was playing at the Forum on Roosevelt Blvd and The Allman Joys were playing at the Comic Book Club on West Forsyth. I was also there when Duane joined the Second Coming and the band became the New Second Coming for a little while. Then Duane called Greg and told him to get to Jacksonville to join the band, I was at Dicky's house in North Jax the day Greg arrived. What a gathering. I remember watching the band practicing, on the dance floor of the Comic Book.Good luck to the Kids and the new band. Your folks would be proud. Also best wishes to Dickey and his recovery after his bad fall in the back yard.

I'm from Macon Ga. The Brothers use to play and party in Central City Park in downtown Macon. My parents said back then everyone came and just party and listen free of charge before they started recording and touring. Gotta love it!!!

I wish I could hear as good as some of these critics. I saw these guys in Bend Or. last night and they were smoking hot. Every song they did Was better than this one but you cant please everybody but I would like to see the expressions on these critics faces and check out the comments after watching some of their videos. It looks great seeing Devon and Duane on stage together. Alot of times kids want to make it on their own without their fathers name, these two would not be able to hide from who they are. I don't think either of them are as aggressive on their instruments as their fathers were but they haven't had to be. Keep on rockin.

O think the only way this could get better would be adding Duane Trucks as the second drummer, and having berry jr. on bass. And then there are the obvious guest opportunities like Scott Sharrard, Luther and Cody Dickinson, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Jaimoe, Dickey Etc.

I'm from Macon Ga. The Brothers use to play and party in Central City Park in downtown Macon. My parents said back then everyone came and just party and listen free of charge before they started recording and touring. Gotta love it!!!

I wish I could hear as good as some of these critics. I saw these guys in Bend Or. last night and they were smoking hot. Every song they did Was better than this one but you cant please everybody but I would like to see the expressions on these critics faces and check out the comments after watching some of their videos. I have been struggling with guitar for 40 + years and still wouldn't call myself a musician but I have fun and don't have to think I'm great and don't care and don't criticize. Well...... back to my life.

Saw these guys at Summerfest that year and will be seeing them as the Allman Betts band this year. Super excited!
It looks great seeing Devon and Duane on stage together. Alot of times kids want to make it on their own without their fathers name, these two would not be able to hide from who they are. I don't think either of them are as aggressive on their instruments as their fathers were but they haven't had to be. Keep on rockin.

O think the only way this could get better would be adding Duane Trucks as the second drummer, and having berry jr. on bass. And then there are the obvious guest opportunities like Scott Sharrard, Luther and Cody Dickinson, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Jaimoe, Dickey Etc.

Wal I am officially an OLD FART, at 60 I did see and semi-worship the originals; at 12, I was running around with a Coricidan bottle on my finger - no guitar yet, but my head was screwed on tight. And I think it's WONDERFUL that these "kids" (40 years old?)are approaching this as a new "American Classical" music. It's like a vote of recognition that our music DID mean something. Look at the repertoire of the Tedeschi/Trucks band - just a-DRIPPING Laylaisms*. I used to be sorta mad that "we boomers" kinda pigged out, taking ove ALL the radio stations... but damn this music's worth it.
And the humungous AAAA blowin's stars out yer ass and they smell like roses
