@@TecDLogic It's quite simple, the OP means that Ford is pitching the GTD as a GT3 RS competitor instead of a GT2 RS competitor because Ford knows that the 2RS will give it back to Ford, so they're happy to market the GTD as a 3RS competitor because they know the extra 300hp over the 3RS is going to be difficult to beat.
@amarjit_singh_ So what's the point exactly ? Man, this car is the pinnacle and a evolution of the american muscle cars! It's so awesome! Surely Red Bull partnership in F1 help ford in the making of better sport cars.
No Red Bull involvement here. This car was created and built in cooperation with Multimatic of Canada, a world wide respected engineering firm that has built the 3rd gen. Ford GT and chassis for the Porsche Hyper car!
Why is everybody so excited about the GTD, it is not even being released until 2025. Other rivals would have had time by then to match the performance and put out something even better.
We don't care! This Mustang will surely make its mark.

@@godzeus9702 Sorry man but you are completely in the dark as far as this Mustang's design, build and engineering. I'll guess you never heard of Multimatic, a world wide respected engineering firm from Canada. They built the chassis for the Porsche 963 IMSA and WEC class racers. For this GTD, Ford sends the basic chassis to Multimatic and they hand build the car from there. State of the art high tech features in the suspension and chassis, this is not your father's Mustang! They will sell every one of the $300,000 GTDs, just like their previous build for Ford, the 3rd gen Ford GT!
My first time seeing a Ferrari Enzo in a bank parking lot, I thought I was in heaven. Now, as a "true" adult, seeing a GTD in person is going to be an even greater highlight.

Are you crazy? This will drop in value compared to too a Porsche 🫨 and the bones of the vehicle are designed to be a $50,000 vehicle, not a $300,000 vehicle. It's just a cash grab. If you were to buy a $50,000 in mustang, if you removed the engine transmission all of the suspension and replaced it with aftermarket components. You could do the same for way less most car people know this shocking that you don't
The Ford GT was a new design from the ground up. They used some components from the Ford lineup of vehicles but mostly a brand new design deserving of the price tag at the time. This does not deserve the price tag in any way shape or form. You know that and I know that it's just a money grab. If they redesigned it completely or remade the chassis out of a different material like the Z06 back in the day from aluminum then I could see it and it still didn't deserve that kind of price tag increase . they were able to put it in a GM product. I'm not a GM fanboy but this is just an example . pine and simple It is a money grab and definitely not worth the money. I could see this car being close to $100,000 today's money but no way 300,000................

@@justinhamill1931what are these bones you speak of? The emblem? Have you saw the rear suspension design? You think you're gonna just throw that in a regular mustang 🤔
@@justinhamill1931 You're a bit mentally challenged aren't you? You'd have to be to think you can just mod a Mustang and do what the GTD does. The reason Ford is making this is because it's not just a Mustang, they needed to sell a homologation car so they could race their GT3 car next year in FIA and WEC because this thing is has many components that are a complete redesign. It has a new tubular subframe that's lighter and stiffer, it's all carbon fiber, it's got a completely reworked bespoke rear mounted transaxle drivetrain and new inboard race suspension that completely changes the rear end of the car, active aero all over, a dry-sump beefed up 5.2 Predator engine under the hood (which in and of itself is a 30k engine stock), and more. This is a completely reworked *racecar* that Ford is making a road homologation for, this thing is exclusive and special, to call this "just a Mustang" is as stupid as people that called the GR Yaris "just a Yaris" and shows a complete lack of understanding for the history and the significance of race homologation specials. Every homologation car in history (such as this GTD) has appreciated in value, there's every expectation and historical president that this'll do the same.
Yes, it’s a 300k Stang but the engineering is worth that. Especially if thats the car they’re taking to Le Mans. The GT3 RS is based on a lower tier Porsche too
The GTD is a street car based on the GT3. It is not legal for road racing due to several features on it.
4:28 A rear mount? (Radiator)
Probably gets air from the vents in the rear quarter panel. For a car like this rear mount rads arent uncommon.
The rear radiator is for the transaxle.
When I first saw the headline Mustang GTD a few weeks I must admit I thought Ford was making a diesel powered GT and thought to myself why… after reading the article I was stoked to be mistaken.

The GT was even more expensive and being a "non-premium" brand doesnt mean they cant build expensive vehicles.
@Rad-lc8gf I never said they couldn't. The Ford GT had a high price tag as well. Now, let's be real. Most people with that kind of cash to drop on a car aren't looking for a Mustang.

Because of power to weight ratio. Mustangs are heavy cars these days.
Noticing no ones mentioning the black series.

The GTD starts off as an off the assembly line chassis. What they call a chassis in the white.
Then it is sent to Multimatic and they modify the stock chassis to create the final product.
@@DChrls that's EXACTLY what I said. But the weight of the production car has nothing to do with the weight of the race car. Can we stop regurgitating Fords marketing slogans? This is not a GT3 rival, the GT3 is more than $100k cheaper and naturally aspirated. This is a GT2 competitor. Ford doesnt want to say that because they know that the GT2 is going to murder it so instead they claim the GT3 because they know that the 300 hp advantage is insurmountable.
Wait I am kinda confused, you said “this is not a GT3 rival” and then you said “is a GT2 competitor”
So if it’s a GT2 competitor why are you saying “they know that the GT2 is going to M it” and then you said they claim it’s a GT3
Either I am confused or you mistyped or something, am I missing something?
Not GT3, GT3 RS.
They should market the car against something they can't beat, or they aren't allowed to beat another car because they have too much hp that makes it easy to beat the competition ? So basically every car in existence shouldn't be compared to benchmarked to beat a car they are made to beat because they have something that gives them too much of an advantage which was their entire goal ? Seriously how does this make any sense at all. Not only that but the commenter said 100k cheaper when a Porsche GT3RS starts at 230k - 250k at least without adding anything on it, it picks up 300k really easily. Also fun fact, the GT2RS is less than a seconds faster on the Nurburg than the GT3RS, so Ford has a very likely chance at beating it there.
@@leofhr2966 Ford can obviously cherry-pick any car to market against, it doesn't necessarily have to be a 911 or specifically a 911 GT3 RS! Having said that, looking at the price (300k USD and dealer mark ups) and horsepower (800hp), it seem more in the league of a GT2 RS (used 991 2RS are 350-420k USD). Comparing starting prices only, 3RS and GTD are about 80k USD apart, which is about 100k USD! And fyi the fun fact is completely wrong!
