I sure hope Wolf creates a few tunes on each album in the style of Eddies first 4 VH albums. I know that a lot of his style was born in him. Wolf seems like a great guy and I have nothing but respect for him. His vocals are also damn good. However, I'm not a huge fan of "Mammoth" And I've never been a fan of the Van Gina years. I don't like Sammy Belcher.. Not to mention all those keyboard tunes. But I've always loved eddies guitar tunes. I wish Wolf would take the time to approach a few tunes in the style that he had when he was first learning. I bet he's got a ton of killer riffs that he hasn't recorded from way back then. The world would be mind blown by what he hasn't shown people yet. His mom is a total fox and a sweet lady. Alex is one bad ass drummer who created some of the best grooves in rock N roll history, IMO. I'd put Alex in my top 10 or top 20 favorite drummers of all time..
Most of the book was cobbled from various sources. Even if Alex had written every last word it’s still super short as far as pages being 240 pages. I’ve read over 100 musicians biographies and if one goes fairly deep it has to be at least 325-375, most are even more. Now that we’re talking about one of the top 3 rock guitarists of all-time and it’s his brother I would have expected it to be at least 400 pages. After hearing about how many sources it came from I’m really disappointed. I’m still going to buy it and read it, but I’m not in a rush to do so.
So the book is basically his brother talking about how he grew up with Edward. But he created the book by other sources?!?! What a stupid statement. And the book is based only on their arrival from Holland to the USA and ends in 1984 Break up with Dave. It’s not a Biography.
I'm glad i saw them back when. In the good days. All this bullshit now is tiresome. I knew that book would be nothing but things already said, with a few stories of them when they came here thrown in. Not buyin it. God bless ya Al. One quick thing, i don't recall them living in NY, but somehow they both ended up with back east accents. Did they learn English by watching the Godfather?
About Alex. It would be 😎 so cool if he would go back and hang out with geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson and just rock out and jam with the Rush boys...they like him and like wise. He needs to get alot of the bad parts of the past shakin out of his head. And most of Alex Van Halens past was killer cool. Neil Pert would definitely approve of AVH to 🚀 rock out on his drum 🥁 kit. They would have a blast... with no expectations.... I ❤ Rush & Van Halen. 😊 what do you fans out there think 🤔
I read it. Disappointed in it. It didn’t really divulge any “insider” info. Alex could have told so much more, but he stopped far too short. I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone, sadly.

The book covers childhood to DLR departure. So of course it's gonna be shorter. Alex states "the spirit of Van Halen left when DLR did!"
