I Played 12 Games of Pokemon AT THE SAME TIME
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 31 мар 2022
- I attempted to beat 12 games of Pokemon Emerald at the exact same time. By pairing controls to each game, I had to navigate 12 separate characters that didn't always want to cooperate. How long will this take me, or is it even possible? Watch the video to find out!
This is not a Nuzlocke, as you will see through my many failed battles. My only goal was to beat the game as fast as possible.
One note: In one of my Torchic games (3rd row, 3rd column), I accidentally deleted the save file around the 3rd gym. So I had to load from one of my other games and make some adjustments. That's why the Trainer name changes. Just for full transparency! :)

This is the closest to a normal video and an April fools video we can get
Yes
But the real question is, did they keep the sound on for all 12 games?

Imagine you're in a Pokemon center and some kid runs in and just starts running into the corners over and over for several minutes. You ask them why they're doing it and they say they're waiting for their 'eleven siblings' to 'catch up' with them. Then after a while, they walk over to the counter, get their pokemon healed, and then leave, with no sign of any of the supposed siblings.
Yes.
then, very good psychatrists come and help the kids
@@froze200 🤨🧐
*yes*
You should do this with less games but each game is a different Pokémon game/generation. It would be hellish.
Wouldn't be hellish
Would be pure hell
@Warner Wood
Calm down, Satan
He would have fun with trying to juggle 8 different mechanics at once.
i do this for fun its pretty good a little hard but
Playing pokemon Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, Black 2, Ultra Sun, and Shield at the same time
"Oh, a neat April Fools Day idea," I naively thought.
Then you played through the entire game.
I love that the chaos that was the naming portion still resulted in 3 normal names: Ryan, Seth, and Tom
That's because he clicked "Ok" without putting any letter, so the game just decided a random name for the character
Imagine doing this as a nuzlocke. Obviously with less games running at once, but this seems like a fun challenge.
Lmao, "fun" 🤣
Imagine doing this as a SoulLocke.
If you do this as a nuzlocke and post it on yt the bEsT nUuZloKer... Is gonna milk the vid
i mean.. a versus 12x nutzlocke.. where the winner is decided by who gets more games through.. if both get the same number through then the decider is the time
id watch it :)
"Soul link nuzlocke by myself"
Such a crazy, interestinng, and unique challenge. Got to give you respect for this, I would go insane trying to do this. Keep up the amazing work mate
It would be very funny to watch this in a game where movement is actually important, like Super Mario, and just run the games at slightly different speeds, like 100-111%. While the RNG makes this run a bit more interesting, a lot of it is just grinding to get everything synced as well as possible.
How is this a unique challenge people have been doing multi game runs ever since emulators were a thing
@@JordanMSeverns I don't think it was done to this extent I believe, but I don't actually know if that's the case, just a guess
I love the huge variance in team compositions here, and AAAAHH the Mightyena that actually grew to a respectable level somehow even though they were caught on route 1.
Technically, if you divide the final time by 12, you get a time of about 2.6525 hours for each game. This places you 21st on the emulator leaderboard and 12th on the console leaderboard.
Congratulations!
he used speed up some times
@@pixel3042 some games have. not all
@@white9763 all games are sped up. Just some of them are lagging, that's why they're behind
@@UltraCenterHQ 0:44
@@white9763 "because i have each individual game set to 200% speed some of them are off" each individual game means each single game is running at 200% MEANING all 12 of them individually are running at 200% speed or 12 of them are running at 200% speed the fact this has to be broken down for you is quite suprising since you linked the timestamp yourself......also literally right after the timestamp u linked literally seconds later he says what ultra just said that there were so many instances running that some of them were lagging behind *facepalm*
Interesting fact, Tate's Xatu and Lunatone both only have one attacking move, being Psychic on both pokemon, so if you double down on Liza, you can likely just use any dark type to trivialize the fight
He basically did that
Henry 1 is my favourite, I sure hope he doesn't lose all of his good damaging moves
this is fascinating, i love this so much. Imagine how insane this would be with the 8 directional controls in later gens

Norman's not just an absent dad anymore - man had twelve whole children THEN decided to bail
Not only that, he couldn't think of enough names for all of them - his four sons all have different names, but then he named all his eight daughters either "Ky" or "Er". Lol
The insanity and the interest of this video is just on another level! Trying to keep track on the individual plays is hard too!
Also, Henry the Swampert lost Water Gun / Mud Shot and A the Sceptile lost Leaf Blade
The Blazikens who get to keep Blaze Kick 👁️👄👁️
It would be fun to see any speedrunner try to optimize this, even with fewer games running. For example, would the rng manip for the starter be feasible with so many instances of the game?
beat ruby sapphire and emerald at the same time, each game with torchic, mudkip, treeko as the starter respectively
I feel like you're best bet would probably be just playing each game individually.
Imagine having a 1 in 12 chance of encountering a shiny per Route with this setup.
I have seen shiny hunters do something similar to this before
1 in 12 chance? What do you even mean?
Double rainbow...? What does it mean...
1 in 682
@@Joandersonso is that the masuda or are we saying actual normal rates of shinies are like 1/(682x12) ???
I've done this with Fire Emblem, it's really fun seeing the divergence of RNG in real time
19:00 I see there are two wobbuffets fighting each other. With shadow tag, they are going to have fun for a long time.
7:57 Well technically, you are at the top of the "12 games at the same time" speedrun leaderboard, right ? 😅
Next time (if) you do something like this, you should have 3 or 4 of them hooked into the controls but you don't see the screen of; they're just left on their own, just to see what state they're in by time you finish the others.
i don't know how well this could work but i could imagine it being more chaotic and this funnier if you looked only at one game at a time, but it cycled through them after a set period of time. you would try to play normally, but as other games are also being controlled, it would lead to some funny situations
Next time try beating HALF of a Pokémon game. All levels, damage, sprites are halved - even the screen! I have absolutely no idea how this would work but it would be hilarious lol
Consider, two games at once (two versions if you want to be funny about it) where you can only see one half of each game. They can be swapped if necessary, but you only see the half.
As someone whose favorite number is 12, this video soothed my soul immensely and instantly earned a spot in my '12' playlist. The Pokémon stuff is a nice plus though! ;)
Just under 32 hours is honestly not that bad, considering how much stress you would experience with 12 games going at the same time. Nicely done man!
Only 5 minutes in, but I'm loving this content. It's chaotic, creative, and it's so funny to watch a random screen and the character move like a 3-year old is controlling them. Truly good stuff.
12 emeralds in 31:50 is actually 2 hours 34 minutes per game, which puts you at 12th on the any percent leaderboard.
he did play at 2x speed
@@pixel3042 so 5 hours and 8 minutes

Best run category on RUclips. Should be viral soon, great video :)
This looks like an absolute nightmare, I could barely stay focused on two games at a time, let alone TWELVE. I don't know why you did this to yourself but it's good content LMAO.
12:07 i love how every other game is fighting maxie and then there's game number 2 up top who's just vibing in the pokemon centre
At the 800th hour: "I haven't caught Rayquaza yet"
At the 800th hour and 1 minute: "There, I just caught sixteen Rayquazas"
This was a really great watch! I'd honestly love to see this with other games in the series, it's a really unique and interesting concept.
Can you try playing 12 games at a time but only fixating in one and at the end see where the rest ended up at?
1 game atleast will surely still be at the first route
I was also thinking that he should focus on one game only
This was an absolutely amazing video, weird Pokémon challenges have been my favorite thing to watch lately (between smallant and others). I’m honestly surprised this doesn’t have more traction, you have a great thing going here :)
This was so much more interesting to watch than I thought it would be! Great job guy! Can’t wait to see you pop up on my feed again
yo this challenge seems interesting. if it were me i'd rage 50% of the time
Obviously playing twelve games at once is a twelve times more efficient use of time...
...at least for any one with the galaxy brain needed to coordinate all those conflicting game states.
i have no idea how im already subscribed to you, went through your whole backlog and i swear ive never warched any of them, but this was a great video so I'm glad i'm subscribed. off to watch more now
I have never seen you before today on my RUclips algorithm, and this made me laugh so many times. Can’t wait to see more of your content!
Fun fact: beating 12 games this way was quite a bit faster than beating 12 games 1 at a time even at world record speeds.
Yes that's how multitasking works
@@illusion9423 Thanks for the pretentious comment but that also is not always the case.
The world record is about 2.5 hours. Multiply that by 12 and that's 30 hours total.
Rylockes got 32 hours, which is slightly slower.
@@thehiddenninja3428 Ah the time I saw when I looked was 3 hours. Must have misread or found an older record.

It would bring me joy and laughter to watch this as a nuzlocke or hardcore nuzlocke etc..
This is how you do a creative Pokémon challenge! Everyone is doing shinys only, nuzlockes, combos of both, etc. I've seen those all the time but this is the first time I'm seeing something like this. Great idea and great execution!
Oh wow, first time discovering this channel, and just... well, WOW.
Putting aside the interesting and fun premise (which is enough to be worthy of praise of its own), the video's pacing, storytelling, and editing are on a level that I would usually expect from channels with 10 times more subscribers, if not more. Glad to be able to say I joined relatively early when you inevitably hit 1 mil subs my guy :)
"Can he really be an absent father if there's 12 of him?"
You got a point there
6:54 perfectly balanced, as all things should be xD
Best challenge video I’ve ever seen! I can’t imagine how frustrating that must have gotten 😅 congratulations on the win!
This is the most cracked/creative challenge I've ever seen someone play Pokemon! Amazing video! Also I'm happy seeing Henry the swampert as one of the first save files to beat the game
I started watching this video and thought it seemed like a fun idea so booted up fire red and was playing through with 2 emulators at once, I was really enjoying the chaos of trying to get up to Viridian city while dealing with different encounters on different games right up until I got a full odds shiny Ratata that I then had to knock out because I didn't yet have PokeBalls. I think I'll just go back to watching someone else do this
How did you do it? I’m struggling to make it work on my end
Same question, I what to do this but i dont seen to find help.
How fo you do it? pls respond

A fun video idea like this one would be, playing through a Pokémon with another one hooked up the the same controller and after the beat the one you were playing you look to see how far the other one got
When's the 12 game hardcore nuzlocke?
I don't think I've ever watched another pokemon video that has ever given me this much anxiety
huge props to you for sitting through this nightmare of a challenge LOL
I am looking forward to more videos where you may potentially torture yourself for fun pokemon hijinks
(now can you imagine if you did this as a nuzlocke)
This video is amazing! I love the humor and this is a really interesting concept. Subbed and noti, cant wait to see what you do in the future.
"it only took me about 30 minutes to get throught the cave" - there's a lot of pain behind this simple sentence
this is possibly the most insane challenge i've ever seen in my life. kudos for actually pulling it off. i am in awe.
I love how I’m some instances you were doing super good, and I’m others you couldn’t get 2 very important moves or didn’t even beat the gym when every single other one did
This so amazing! I'm sure you about lost your mind but I'd love more stuff like this. Crazy attempts that aren't your standard Nuzlock.
Now do this using only shiny pokemon with nuzzlocke rules with only fire type pokemon, hahaha just joking.
Actually you finished them at different times but you connected the controller inputs
This is very cool content, I‘m amazed at how much patience you have for all of this
Proud of little Henry, he went so far in this. Also what an insane but also interesting challenge! It was really fun to watch and see the victory at the end of it!
OH SH#T, I DELETED WATER GUN AND OTHER MOVES
I want to see this done with PLA now.
Imagine trying to aim your balms and pokeballs.
Sounds like a nightmare
One of the best challenge vids I've seen I hope to see more content like this in the future
Oh my god it's the best challenge content I've seen in so long, catching pokemon by mistake, sceptile blunders, it's just so good!
How did you run 12 instances at once? Whenever I try to do something like this, I run into issues with Windows not being in focus. Do you happen to have 12 computers?
Tried it myself, works on VBA. im using version 1.7.2 but im sure it works on the latest release if there is a new version out. just go to options, then emulator and make sure "pause when inactive window is turned off" Hope this helps :)
@@melonmilan8925 When I tried running multiple of the same game on VBA it wouldn't allow me. I opened Fire Red four times and 3 of them were just white screens, so I tried Pokemon and Zoids at the same time and it worked. So it won't allow me to use the same game.
I've done two files at the same time like this before. That was insane enough without 10 more versions
Bless the algorithm for making this show up in my recommended. I found a hilariously chaotic video and a new Pokemon challenge channel to watch. :D
This is such a creative idea, but I swear I'd probably rage if I tried to do it. Kudos, for the dedication. 😆 I love the problem child, Henry (1). He's trying his best.
Nice! I wondered for long how would that work, because of the wild encounters, crits or just diffrent attacks. Thank you for making this video (even if thats an april fools one)
The real question is;
Can you beat the game 12 times, faster than how long this took?
12:10 Maxie is a dude lol
This is an awesome concept and execution. Nicely done man
Considering 12 games of Pokémon beat in approx. 32hrs, that's like 2.6hrs per game and not too far away from the speed record.
Regardless, you're insane. x)
Great vid! :D
You sound like a slightly off MatPat
How Did you do this? i would love to try this imagine a platinum run of this...
The zig zags being good for oons is my new favorite thing ever thank you so much for introducing me to that

It's amazing that you could watch this video 13 times. Once normally, trying to in-take everything that's done at once and then 12 more re-watches focusing on one specific screen per watch.
This is so wild and fun to watch, visually it’s somewhat like a moving quilt
