Can You Beat a Hardcore Nuzlocke Using Only "D" Pokemon? (Pokemon White)

- Is it possible to beat a Hardcore Nuzlocke using only Pokemon species with names beginning with the letter D? Let's find out! This is the fourth "Letter-Locke" I've tried, after playing Nuzlockes with only A, B, and C Pokemon.

The Hardcore Nuzlocke rules for this challenge:
1. Only catch the first Pokemon on each route, as long as the species name begins with "D" or evolves into one starting with "D". Re-roll on non-"D" and duplicates.
2. If a Pokemon faints, it must be released.
3. No overleveling above the gym leader's highest level
4. No items in battle.
5. Play on Set Mode.
6. No evolving a Pokemon if no further evolutions begin with D (e.g., I can use Oshawott and Dewott, but not Samurott)

This run really shows how entertaining and brainless the strategy of “MONKE PUNCH” can be in any game where Darmanitan is readily available.

It could be possible. Flare Blitz on Cofagrigus, Superpower on Bouffalant, Facade on Seismitoad, Fire Punch on Bisharp, Facade on Eelektross, Superpower on Hydreigon.

@@Jules-mm7ki IIRC from the grimsley fight he had only 1 PP left for superpower, so it was a fire punch and flare blitz sweep lol

Somebody may have already mentioned this, but life orb from the battle subway on Darmanitan would be great, since sheer force cancels out life orbs health drain

This was not a final team I would expect for D. Absolutely loved this run!
Wait no Ghetsis fight? I know it's technically after the 'champion' fight, but it's still part of the main story and before the credits...
He just said that he hadn't fully trained his pokemon because he FORGOT about it at first, so N was gonna be the "Champion" fight
As Mr. Muffin stated, I legit forgot about it. Any future run of B/W will definitely include that fight.

You should always get the eviolite from castelia city, would benefit your unevolved pokemon in these challenges
He knows this I'm pretty sure. He used it on Dos Blobs in this run. He prepares so much I'm sure that was specifically on his list to pick up 👌

Emboar
Escadrill
Electross
Escavalier
Emolga
Espeon(suggested by @Lauranrdraws)
Elgyem and Electabuzz(suggested by @GlowstoneLovePad)
but It will be a repeat so i expect a different version(I expect platinum as it has some good mons that start with E too)

If we go by starter... apart from gen 5, there is gen 4 (Platinum only) with Empoleon, Elekid line, Eevee>Espeon and that's it.
you can also get espeon if you're doing black/white 2
We can do in black 2 white 2 but I wish he did the other way around d on 2

Emboar, Electivire, Excadrill, Espeon, Emolga, Escavalier, Eelektross, Elgyem (only unevolvable one)

For when you get to Z, according to my research Kalos and Unova (in B2W2) both have 5 Pokemon that start with Z but I would recommend going with Unova because they both have Zangoose, Zweilous, Zubat, and Zoroark but while Kalos has Zigzagoon... Unova has Zebstrika.

Alright so i'm only one minute in, but MY GOD THE EDITING, the health bar is literally being updated every fight that's an insta-sub for me ! Also i've never heard of a letterlock before so this is an interesting breath of fresh air !

That’ll also have to be in Unova. Unless I’m forgetting one that should be obvious, Emboar is the only E starter.

The nice thing about this type of challenge is having an actual unique team that is hard for the viewer to predict.
Definitely like it better than “Emerald mono water type” and “Fire Red mono flying type” which are predictable challenges where everyone ends up using the same pokemon.
I know Nuzlockes are hard enough even with those rules but this is way more challenging and entertaining.
One thing I will never do is show all the Pokemon I can catch at the beginning of the video. Takes all the suspense out of it!

Hey if you do a hardcore nuzlocke for pokemon that start with E do it in platinum cause the only starter pokemon that starts with E is Empoleon
Well technically Emboar starts with E as well but yeah I would do platinum with Empoleon.
@@bluemoon4546 actually, W2 would be better. I took a count, Platinum only gives you 3 mons. W2 gives you 8, 7 of which are fully evolved. It even gives you both of the non-Starter E mons from Platinum (if you’re curious, Espeon and Electivire, the latter of which can be obtained much, MUCH earlier than in Platinum)

you inspired me to do my own letterlocke, im doing pokemon lets go pikachu using only pokemon with p names my current team is Pikachu, Pidgeotto, Persian, Mankey (Who evolves into Primeape) Paras and psyduck the only pokemon i have boxed is a pikachu (Im doing normal nuzlocke rules)!

Nuzlockes for Pokémon Black and White are definitely some of the hardest. The number of one-hit KOs I've had to deal with are insane. Literally have had five Pokémon killed by wild Pokémon at their level with no super effective moves taken down from full health. Like, a level 16 Darumaka one-hit KOed my level 17 Sandile with the move fire fang. How. It wasn't even a crit. It literally just killed it like it was a normal move. I literally haven't had a Pokémon make it out of its route without dying to other Pokémon in the same route for maybe 3/7 encounters, from full health. The RNG of move damage in this game is absolutely fucked. 90% of my deaths have come from random non-super effective Pokémon 1HKO-ing them for absolutely no reason at all. Half the time they're wild Pokémon doing it.

Heart Gold & Soul Silver for F: Feraligatr, Fearow, Furret, Flaaffy, Forretress, Flareon, Farfetch'd
X & Y for G (alot of encounters): Greninja, Gyarados, Goldeen, Golduck, Gardevoir or Gallade, Gogoat, Gulpin, Gloom, Golbat, Grumpig, Granbull, Glaceon, Golurk, Gigalith, Gorebyss, Garchomp, Golem, Goodra, Gengar, Gourgeist, Garbodor, Gurdurr, Gliscor, Gothitelle
Heart Gold & Soul Silver for H: Hoothoot, Haunter, Hoppip, Hypno, Heracross, Hitmonchan/Hitmonlee/Hitmontop, Horsea (If the C and D nuzlockes were possible, this is possible too. Also, Houndoom makes the postgame much easier.)

Actual pick for I is Pokemon Sword & Shield: Inteleon, Ivysaur (Isle of Armor), Impidimp, Inkay, Indeedee (There just aren't very many Pokemon that begin with I)
Skipping over J since I don't think it's possible. Only thing that made I possible is Infernape, Incineroar, and Inteleon.
For E you might wanna modify soul silver to start with elekid
Also for F I recommended X or Y
G, DPP would work best and H, sword/shield all seen optimal for your format
Do 'E' nuzlocke with Platinum
Cause you will get a fully evolved starter - Empoleon
You can get a fully evolved starter with a Unova game too. Emboar. You’d also get access to Excadrill, Emolga, Escavalier, Eelektross and W2 would give Electivire and Espeon. That there is 7 Pokémon, all fully evolved, though one of them is Emolga. Also, there’s Elgyem for an unevolved extra
I think you might have had an easier time if you choose to do the alola region instead (specifically moon or ultra moon for an extra team mate), since you would have had access to more final evolutions in the run.

You know if you only have one Pokemon, you can skip the double battle on Route 3.

Whenever you do N, you should do gen 5, probably black or white, and do the spiderman meme with the imposter N
Absolutely love the letter lockes, but I have a question: why did you choose Black and White over X and Y? I know those are often said to be really easy, but I feel like having to use a Delphox, Dunsparce, Dodrio, Doublade, and Ducklett on the same team would be interesting. Would probably rely mostly on the first four, but could still be interesting
