- For this symphony there are two variants: one for flute, oboe, bassoon, horn, the second (the one posted here) is for violin and piano:
I. Allegro
II. Tempo di Minuetto: Allegro
III. Presto assai
Ignace Joseph Pleyel (18 June 1757 - 14 November 1831)) was an Austrian-born French composer and piano builder of the Classical period.
Pleyel's first professional position may have been as Kapellmeister for Count Erdődy, although this is not known for certain. Among his early publications was a set of six string quartets, his Opus 1.
At one time the pupil - and then the London rival - of Franz Joseph Haydn, Pleyel's reputation rested at least in part on the undemanding character of his music. Pleyel is one instance of the phenomenon of a composer (others include Cherubini, Meyerbeer, and Thalberg) who was very famous in his own time but currently obscure. Keefe (2005) describes a "craze for his music c. 1780-1800", and quotes a number of contemporary witnesses to this surge. For instance François-Joseph Fétis wrote, "What composer ever created more of a craze than Pleyel? Who enjoyed a more universal reputation or a more absolute domination of the field of instrumental music? Over more than twenty years, there was no amateur or professional musician who did not delight in his genius."
Wunderschöner, melodischer Fluß.
Thank you again!
Un "piatto musicale" raffinatissimo e di grande eleganza! La nostra "Chef musicale" Sibarit 101 non sbaglia mai un "piatto" o una "portata" musicale!
Thanks again! I'm glad you're still "feeding" on music in 2024, and the good emotional responses are the same.
I wish you all the best!
@@sibarit101 : "If music be the food of love, play on!" ....
PS. It would be that much more savory if seasoned with the Pleyel et Cie. "1830."

@@adamnoman4658 No matter what Shakespeare thought, we can't lose our “musical appetite” by “overabundance”…🙂
@@sibarit101 : Yes, while it is good advice to take all in moderation, in this case I confess to the sin of gluttony.
PS. Have you listened to the marvelous Masha Dimitrieva on the marvelous "1830"?

@@adamnoman4658I listened to it now. Sincere? I was not impressed.
In my opinion, as a listener, a composer shows his talent by demonstrating his ability to orchestrate, writing music for an orchestra like a true master of orchestration. Otherwise he remains only a good or very good composer/performer for solo recitals or chamber music... in the salons of his employer.
Que obra maravilhosa ❤
Thank you!
Heavenly composing from this wellknown contemporary from Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven. A gadget of those composers is audible.
Found this, and it blessed my ears. so delightful to hear.
I. Allegro 0:00
II. Tempo di Minuetto: Allegro 10:58
III. Presto assai 17:30
Meritevole.
Thank you!
I like your comment.
TY for the beautiful upload
Just come across this, superb work. Thank you Sibarit..... hope you are well. x
I'm OK, thank you!
I'm glad you liked Pleyel's music.
