- Today I have collected a few interesting PMs to talk about! Still working with a few tech things in the background and testing how many slides I need to contain myself too, so hopefully don't have to rush!
I love how Anders is just like, “lol I’m back” if he died. But they felt the need to make a weird explanation for Leliana.
I also don’t get why they didn’t just make Leliana a spirit given there were the spirits in the temple of sacred ashes and there is Cole.
The "Maker is a Titan" theory goes surprisingly well with "Old Gods are connected to Evanuris" one. Evanuris defeated the Titans, then were themselves imprisoned by Fen'Harel, leaving Old Gods behind ("forms reserved for the gods and their chosen"?). No surprise that Andraste, who worships an awoken Titan, goes to war with Tevinter, who's people worship the Old Gods. It was supposed to be a counter-attack! :)
On a separate note, "Old Gods are the sleeping bodies of Evanuris who get filled with Blight in the absense of their original souls" is my new favorite theory on the Citadel. Involuntary Uthenera is a rough fate.
So I'm a huge Elven fan. But I would like to hear more about the Titans and the dwarves, Qunari where they came from. And countries like Rivain or the Anderfels (My personal favorite country don't know why) . More Gray Warden!! We just got to scratch the surface really. To me though the elves are kind of like the Romans and Greeks. Peel back enough European, Mediterranean history and you always hit them. That is kind of like the Elves to Dragon Age. But perhaps we're closing up with Dragon Age for the elf chapter. Maybe in the future they're going to work on some of the other races and countries. The Dragon Age prequel with Drakon would be cool.
I agree. However, I always felt more interested in the Dwarven Lore/Lyrium/Blight rather than the Elven pantheon. I really want to play as a Dwarf in DA4, but I'm so afraid their relevance would be cast aside, like in DAI. In Origins playing as a Dwarf is amazing, especially since a good portion of the game is spent in the Deep Roads and in Orzammar.
I just love lyrium and its parallels with the Blight (red lyrium and the "song"), and it would be so disappointing if everything was caused by the Evanuris.
I'd love more dwarf lore, the Descent DLC was so cool!
If you bring Solas he says you are at the side of Elven. But if you show up without Solas and with Sara he says at least someone bearing the features of an elven
I'm sad I missed all the videos. Hope to catch more in the future.
I wonder if there's the possibility of a community of elves that are more like what Morrigan initially thought Abelas and co were? Remaining extremely isolated and carrying the old traditions down through the ages and passing it on to their children
Cool, I hadn't seen one of your videos for a while, I remember having a theory after the fame awards trailer, it'd be cool to see you talk about more of these.
I like DA and I speak Japanese also. So there are at least two fans.
Even three if you count me in ;)
I would have thought Abelas would have been familiar with Solas since he is a guardian in the Temple of Mythal and Mythal and Fen'Harel were close. Although it does make sense also if he didn't know that Solas was Fen'Harel. Could be that Solas is indeed letting Abelas know in the scene that there are still ancient elves left.
Also, the German sentence doesn't make one lick of sense, it basically means "his (Seine) girlfriend had to die because he (Er) thought they (Sie) were people". It's, after all, nothing but an extra -in at the end of the word Freund. Otherwise it would be fine.
The thing with leliana is the default world state doesn't have her killed so I think her lyrium spirit thing was just crammed in there to have an excuse for her being in the game. Since the default world state has her alive we can say it's kind of not real.
The fact that "A slow arrow breaks in the sad wolf's jaw." was translated as "A slow arrow pierces the sad wolf's jaw." is proof enough that the translation is... not good.
Fun fact about the DM at 26:12, there was actually a similar heretical belief in early Christianity that Jesus' physical form was an illusion. It's called docetism, but one of my favourite podcasts (Apocrypals) calls it "hologram Jesus." So there's precedent in real-world religion! Haha
Personally I want to hear more in-universe ancedotes about Andraste and heretical theories about her (I want to hear more about the Daughters of Song lmao; and on a more legit note I want more on the Imperial Chantry), but I don't want the mystery to ever be solved. Frankly I kinda wish they hadn't set down the path of explaining the elven gods and the Veil, it ruins some of the fun mystery and makes things pretty more bleak when you wrap your head around "the elven gods were actually slave owners and vallaslin is their slave markings" thing. I wish they had left room for Solas to be wrong about that, but it doesn't seem that way.
Possible idea, If Justice still exists, could it return? Can spirits die?
Well yes but actually no. When spirits die, they return to their core until a feeling similar to the one that made them summons them again
Also, I'm really late to this party and watching this vid, but I vote no on knowing who/what Andraste is. I LOVE speculating, but do not like actual explanations that are canon. They almost always raise more questions than they answer, and therein raise problems. Exhibit A) Star Wars and Midichlorians. Here is a mythological space magic, then they explain it.. "these things communicate with the force" and establish the "Midichlorian count" as determining force sensitivity in a potential Jedi. THEN, they go forward in newer lore and "Oh, that's not the be-all end-all...." in an effort to bring back the mystique and put the cat back in the bag... but it's too late. Getting "the explanation" really can and usually does ruin it. So, I whole heartedly and passionately hope they leave Andraste, the Maker, and such UN-explained, at least for the most part.
since you won't be doing stream-polls for the time being, maybe you could just do polls on twitter?
Andraste could be another form of myththal
It's always been arlathan
Hey Caitie, I speak french if you ever need a hand with translations
No DA at game awards.
