    Cool video, thanks for this. As a side point, the mirrors are actually heated but the heater starts only when You turn on front window/back window heating (forgot which one it is, I had the same functionality on my 2015 Qashqai and 2018 X-Trail). It's definitely there. As usual, Nissan packs the car with a bunch of equipment, it's all very reliable and only after spending some time in the car and staring at the details do You begin to notice where they've cut corners with cheaper plastic and all that. But they've really put thought into making the materials which You actually come in contact with - really nice quality.
    I'm driving a BMW iX3 right now, and I can tell You right away this e-4orce, e-Power 4WD X-trail is gonna be my next car as soon as the lease period is over with the iX3.
    Above all, the charging times are abysmal with the iX3 and long trips are challenging as these are the circumstances You have to work with: Your battery is 80kW gross capacity and in theory, the car can charge up to 150kW. However, this works only during summer and during very, very short periods of time. Charge time is always around 35-40 minutes (10-80%) during SUMMER. WINTER, it becomes much, MUCH worse. First 20 minutes on a high speed charger - You're only getting 20kW speed, then it goes up to 74kW and it just stays there, so it takes 65 minutes to charge 10-80% (this is at a temperature just under 0° C).
    That being said, the bottleneck with a BEV such as iX3 is definitely the charging so long trips take far more time, and having a 2-year old in the back seat doesn't help the cause either.
    Which is why I'll be transitioning to the X-Trail in some 18 months or so. This is just perfect - the consumption according to other reviewers is around 7 litres per 100km, the tank size is 55L, it drives like a BEV and has all the bells and whistles that a family needs in a car. Only better thing would be LiAuto L9, but I'm kinda skeptical on the Chinese petrol engine in that car, even though I simply love the finish (but let's be realistic, X-Trail is far more cheaper AND as usual, Nissan is the definition of "bang for buck").
    All in all, this is the car of TODAY, providing a pragmatic approach to efficacy and ease of use for a vehicle TODAY, without there being need to go for a car of tomorrow, today - and ending up in all the issues that being ahead means (longer charging times, limited number of chargers).
    Thanks for the video, good stuff.

      I test drove the Qashqai e-Power, felt like a hybrid not a BEV. Need to test the new Mazda MX-30 R-EV. I drive a Tesla Model 3 LR and I get your pain in a way. With Tesla car, preheats the battery when arriving to the Supercharger no problems with charging speed. I would recommend trying out the Model Y.

      @Josip Ricov yeah, BMW included the option of preheating the battery on the LCI version of iX3 but the battery still has issues holding the heat once heated, so the issue isn't really gone. I was considering a Tesla as well but the build quality made it hard to like the cars. Mazda MX-30 felt like a "Dead on Arrival" kind of thing with its range but I supposed that's a personal preference. Keep up the good work 👍

    Can't they fit a larger battery so that the charger doesn't have to switch over that often and by cutting the consumption of the vehicle down

    Why that hateful dull brown top of dash in every car, and along the door top trim. How nuts and detracts from the entire range.

      Nissan wanted to offer those who are skeptical of BEV range an EV like driving feeling.

    • @mihailmihov3222
      @mihailmihov3222 Год назад +2

      Actually..it's so today ;) The major drawback of EVs are the lack of charging stations and the long time needed for charging. Nissan solved both. Sometime in the future, when these two problems will have been solved, I will agree with you. Today this is the most pragmatic solution of any car maker.

    the car is not bad, BUT the third row of seats?! who are they for?! for transporting a cat?! even children cannot sit there normally!!!

    • @JRCarReviews
      @JRCarReviews  Год назад +2

      7 seat cars never made sense anyway since you lose cargo space.
