I’m a female cadet in Army JROTC and we had our cadet challenge and we had marines timing us for our mile and I finished in 10 minutes and when I finished a staff Sargent told me he has mad respect for me for pushing my self and finishing faster then half the guys in our company.

I remember processing in at Ft Devens for more AIT training and this admin guy is asking all these questions and then he points to a name on my paperwork and asks well who is this guy? I am like, my dad. Oh yeah messages left for me at my barracks. Never ending and I wish someone would have warned me just a little bit when I was in. It was not easy back in the 70’s when I was in the Army.
May I ask what MOS stands for?
@@Sarspariila it stands for "Military Occupational Specialty" its basically jobs that you can have in the army with their own specific codes, for example if you wanna be Infantry your MOS code will be "11B[Bravo]" or if you wanna be a combat medic your MOS code will be 68W[Whiskey]

There is nothing in worse during training exercises then removing head gear only to discover you no longer have eyebrows, or maybe your eyebrows are now ALL over your forehead, there will be nicknames, they will follow you.

Yeah, eyeliner and eyebrow both tattooed on my face, that way I just have to argue with my hair until it’s in a bun and stagger in a forwarding direction and helmet/headgear sweat won’t shift the ‘’eye makeup’’ either. I’m happy to get covered in dirt, mud, hey even spattered with spew/blood… but I will not look like a raccoon. Ever.
