Wow… just wow! That is a thing of beauty. You completely read my mind when you said “it gives the sensation of being on a much much larger vessel”. I had to go back and replay it a few times as I could hardly believe I was looking at a 40’ boat. 😳 😲 Absolutely amazing. 👌🏻

I have had the opportunity to get on board a 40.1 and it truly is a wonderful boat, it has lots of space well laid out deck very easy to use and move around. Below decks is huge for a 40ft boat, amazing that I really liked it. Since I still think a 51.1 would be most optimal for me. I did get to spend a few days on a 46.1 back in early December. Very impressive boat, great sailing boat!! I could be very happy sailing around the Pacific Ocean with this boat!! Thanks Chris and please do continue showing us old salts the full line of boats. Cheers to you!!

Back when I was sailing, O'Day and Catalina were the big names in production boats. Beneteau has since supplanted both. I reckon there might be a REASON for that! Beneteau became the biggest name in yachts because they build good boats.
In an unrelated note, what do you think of Captain Q and the classic boats he shows? I like a lot of them. That said, while I like a lot of the older boats, I understand why you recommend a 2000 or newer boat. Anyway, a year or so ago, he showed a Cal 28 that, if I were younger, would've bought and restored. I sailed on a Cal 20 in Hawaii, and the 28 looked like a bigger version of a boat I knew and loved long ago... :)

I'm a lover of classic plastics, but when it comes to Captain Q, I don't get the whole concept. He promotes some wired boats, everything positive no real feedback, you could get the feeling that he is getting paid for promoting those lost causes.

*Timing*. Just last night I was showing this very boat to the wife... It seems like it could work out as a nice, if small. home for a couple retiring in the Caribbean.

The more YT videos I watch the more convincing the case for buying new. I just don’t want the hassle of refitting a “classic”. You can’t take it with you as they say. The money that is. I know a new won’t be perfect, but me and the wife are not looking for another “project”. Thanks Chris for the nudge in the right direction!

Your a good narrator, keep going, I can understand you love of Beneteau. I always dreamed of a yacht to semi-retire on, a work In progress.
But after listening to your logic, I'll be visiting a charter company in the vicinity of the Bahamas with Australian dollars.

One of the reasons for stepping up from say a 35 foot boat is to get a separate shower rather than a wet head. Please show the shower in these larger boats. Thank you

Excellent video on this fabulous boat. I don’t listen to anyone who speaks down Beneteau or Jeanneau, etc. as these boats are just as you say - some of the finest cruising vessels on the water. Most sailing couples and families will be on the hook or in a marina 80-90% of the time, so they need space more than blue water prowess; yet, these boats can and do sail oceans quite deftly and for far less cost than an older blue water boat, and definitely a catamaran. Thanks Chris. I would definitely like to see the larger range of the Beneteau and Jeanneau fleet as well.

Loving the series. Please keep going. Maybe go to the models from a decade ago and look at shortcomings vs today? Or where the older boats surpass today's models. Seems like the newer boats don't have much for water and fuel capacity compared to say the Farr 50 and the 473. What do you think?

Love your practical approach to sailboats. Especially focus on waterline length vs LOA. Also the myth busting attitude! Keep it up! Much above 44’, most of us will drop out due to pricing. Love the new boats, but do they REALLY have the storage for long period cruising?

Really fantastic vessel - on my list of important things to have one day! Quick question - I am currently stuck in the past thinking okay does it have a water maker?, where do I put solar panels?, what about a dinghy - where will it go when underway?, what about a Bimini top?, what about a fishing pole - dare I ask? My point is that these are the things that are in my current paradigm - I realize perhaps I should just get a new paradigm but it seems to me if you are using this boat to the fullest w kids, grandkids, friends, etc. that it's not always going to be wine & cheese while dangling your feet off the swim platform. Love your analysis and your presentation style. Looking forward to seeing more!!! Thanks!
