Golf tip: Chip from a hardpan lie - 3 differend ways

Did you ever find your golfball on a hardpan surface close to the green? You have several options to chip from a hardpan lie. Putting is one of them, but we already made a video about the chip with a putter. In this video we show you how you can chip from a hard surface close to the green with a five wood, seven iron and a lob wedge. This video was a request from one of our subscribers.

I see pro's hitting from the greenside rough with a quarter backswing, chipping the ball in the air for 50 cm and then having a 10 meter or so roll on the green - how do they do that (no downhill green)

Is chipping/pitching croshanded more easy to practice?

Hi Rex! I wouldn’t say that cross handed is easier to play But when you do practice like that you will get better in your short game 👍

I have a 60 degree 4 degree bounce lob wedge for summer conditions. It makes sweeping the ball off very bare lies easier, with less likelihood of skulling the ball. More bounce for winter, less for summer ( in OZ and S.A. maybe)

Sir, I've a question.. its generally said that we should have 1 basic swing for all club..but unfortunately it differs for me..what is the meaning of 1 basic swing? Same grip? Weight shifts?grip pressure? Please explain the meaning of 1 basic swing..regards, Aquib Aanam.

Hallo Rex , de beste manier om dit te bekomen is door de balpositie naar je voorvoet te brengen, open de club een graad of 5 ( naar rechts ) zodat je meer loft krijgt en swing normaal.
Je kan ook opteren voor een Fade te slaan door uw swindlijn van out-in (ongeveer 4graden )te slaan met de club square op impact. Zo bekomen je meer frictie en spin

Needs more camera angles, especially the last one. Terrible angle, showing a close up of the ball instead of the hand position and body

Hi Lincoln, thanks for your comment. We use more camera angles when necessary in our more recent videos. The last shot could be better on screen, but since Tom already showed his hand action a few times before he hits the ball, we choose to show the close up of the imact, because it is important te see he hits the ball before the ground. From the other angle that was not really visible.
