Done in 3: 1. Think of new formulas, less predictability & repetitiveness. 2. Share the spotlight between characters. 3. End arcs coherently. Show improved in a 200%.
Before changing their outfit or trying something fresh, They should learn "the characters height" first i think. They never did a right thing for Goten, Trunks, Pan, and maron. It bugs me how Trunks and Goten never aged after this past year (Put aside Bulma's mom}
There are emotional moments, but most of the time its two people fighting, no real strategies. And there are no real stakes either. I hope that after universes are erased, they CAN'T come back. There is no real penalty for losing. This is just my opinion.
I agree and I remember an episode where they are playing this amazing soundtrack to hype it out and I was laughing, because it felt out of place, and yeah SSB did get beaten
If they don't spam it then it creates fake tension. The villains have to be as strong or stronger than their most powerful form or it just creates fake tension. There would be zero stakes because the Heroes could just go blue and finish it. We have seen this already in the tournament of power. Goku and Vegeta "struggled" and then when something happened ex: Roshi's death Goku was struggling then just said fuck it didn't care and went blue and saved him.
You do understand that it takes A MINIMUM of three weeks (for Takahashi) to produce just an episode right? And he wasn't the only supervisor on that. The way how you're saying it it's like, let's give Takahashi to do a season with 10 episodes, and let's give him a year to finish it up, because ALONE is pretty much impossible to do so. And stop downplaying great Animators that work in Toei, there are many other animators who do an amazing job, and episode 110 is still the best looking episode of DBS and Takahashi was a key-animator there, while an in-house Naoki Tate was one of the 2 supervisors! Just as good Takahashi does, his approach tends to be wrong too because his animation is so different from anything else we see, so that brings an inconsistency, he is amazing but don't forget that animators are pushed to stick to the right design that the show has, not everyone produces on their own way.
Why retire Picollo when he can become the new Roshi. Picollo can train Goten and Trunks further. He can train Pan and Bra. I feel there is still much use for Picollo to come.
Chad Amaral totally agree, I never thought about piccolo kind of becoming the next Roshi but it makes perfect sense that he would train gotten, trunks, pan etc basically the next generation of fighters just like he trained Gohan all those years ago. I think a lot of people would be upset too if they just dropped piccolo completely and he wasn’t in the series anymore because he is one of the most popular dragon ball characters of all time
1. Better storytelling, stop rehashing and reducing already existing concepts, push forward into some ground and execute it well for once. 2. Better powerscaling and consistency 3. Have less script writers ( As of right now there are 5 or 6, as a result plot threads and ideas will clash with each other.) 4. Decreases the humor and constant jokes 5. Fix the characterization for a lot of characters 6. Focus less on the Saiyans and Goku 7. Focus more on Worldbuilding 8. Have less asspulls and plot convenient powerups 9. Create more likeable characters 10. Change the entire art direction of Super. 11. Add back the blood and gore
Gotta disagree with a few of these. 4. Don't mind the comedy too much since there aren't a lot of threats out there. 9. we got a few likeable characters already: Cabba, Hit, ( I wanna say Caulifla and Kale but they could've been introduced way better) 10. Now 10 I wanna agree and disagree. Sometimes the art in super is absolute trash but the time when Goku fought Kale berserk mode was absolutely fabulous, so if they had more of that I think it would be fine
Future Warrior AMV 2.0 they'd still be corrected. Remember who the character designer is. And firing yamamuro is like asking Porsche to change their flagship car, the 911 and replace it with a cayman. It's that impossible as of now.
Future Warrior AMV 2.0 DB super is not Z. Also, Z only had 7 years, that's far from being almost 10 years. If we go by that time slot and assuming Toriyama does not burn out, it will come to an end at 2022. It is still not gonna happen judging from Z's term.
josh bentley83 I wish they could do that. If dbsuper came out on on Saturday nights it’d be much better. Not only that but in the West, we get it Saturday morning
josh bentley83 Yeah what Bank said. The dub is adding in some swearing, but as far as i know thats how far its going. The timeslot and day Super affects the standards and practices. Z was able to do that because it was airing on primetime weekdays and late at night during the toonami block
Matheus Rubim de Paoli No they don't. Characters other than Goku get 1-2 episodes max where they're the front and center of the story. FIGHTS for characters is even worse. They MIGHT get a fight centered around them. Usually though Goku STILL ends up having to come in and beat the enemy/opponent. You bring up the Future Trunks Arc as your basis for your statement. You do realize Toriyama wrote that story BEFORE Super was made right? And so far that Arc has been the exception in Super.
Austin DeShazo Just because somthing may be intended for a younger audience doesn't mean it has to be dumbed down, look at Avatar the Last Airbender for example. Kids ain't stupid my boi
There is something bothering me about DBS fans in general "The spotlight is always on Goku and Vegeta" *They give power boost to other characters* "That makes no sense, he can not be on the same level of Goku or Vegeta"
Your point you missed was that they don’t explain the boosts, they just say “hey 17 can fight evenly with blue now even though he’s just been living on an island and couldn’t even beat 1st form cell last we saw of him”
My biggest issues with DBS come from strange writing and poor execution. I'm going to cover some things that people dislike about super and explain as to why DBS has done so with the best of my capabilities. 1.) Animation: Early on Toei was having issues with getting together a proper animation team we need to remember as a fan base that at the time DBS was just coming into existence and was bound to have some issues. For those that say Z had the same animation throughout the whole series just take a look at Goku from the beginning of Z and then at the Buu saga, he looks much different because he not only aged but the animation style evolved to suit the tones of the show. 2.) Strange Writing: DragonBall Super is not going to be perfect or horribly dark because at the end of the day it's a kids show that is intended to draw in revenue. Toyotaro and Toriyama work in part with other writers and editors to make Super and as a result you have several ideas that are all being punched around and not all of them are going to be fulfilled or fully flushed out at all. While personally I don't mind a lot of Supers writing it comes down to simple poor execution and the fact that they literally can't explore horribly mature themes not only due to the timezone that it airs at but also the fact that we as adults are not the target audience. 3.) Power Scaling: I get really irritated when I see Kale tank a Kamehameha from SSB Goku, but I also understand why she did. The form SSB seems to be a form where it is not a set multiplier like all other transformations but more-so it revolves around Ki-Output control to the nth-most degree and as such Goku is scaling back his power so as to not use more stamina than he needs to. The reason other characters such as the Androids are also being up-scaled to SSB powerlevel is mostly because Toei is trying to make them relevant again so as to appease the fans and simultaneously draw in more revenue from merchandise. 4.) No Backstories / Poorly Flushed Out Characters Super has this issue where they don't seem to go into any characters backstories for more than a few seconds at maximum and as a result most characters feel simply like they have no depth, my only argument for this is that they simply don't have enough time to go into every characters backstory. I don't think this is excusable with characters like Hit and Jiren who honestly deserve far more then they've been given. Here's what I do like about Super. 1.) Cool Designs: I love the new transformation designs and character designs, people don't seem to give Toei enough credit when it comes to the ToP, it is legitimately hard to create so many thematically designed universes out of basically nowhere and I feel like they deserve credit in that regard. 2.) Awesome Soundtrack: Honestly DBS has had one of the best soundtracks for being one of the most frequently airing shows. Every track sounds so outstanding and godly along with being placed in just the right moments to make them standout that it's kind of a spectacle for your ears. 3.) Animation: I know I marked this as a negative earlier but DBS has had constant improvement throughout the series and if anyone says its animation is bad at this point they are simply wrong. Take a look at the episode where Frieza was brought back from the dead to be recruited for the ToP; almost every shot in that episode is outstanding and impressive. People seem to take a screenshot of a Keyframe that is specifically designed to convey motion and claim that it is "bad animation" and honestly I think that is horribly unfair. If I take a video-tape of you while you're eating food or even simply moving and I take a single frame where you make a strange face for even 0.001 seconds I can't exactly claim that you always look like that and people should stop doing that to Super. 4.) Interesting Concepts: I love concepts like the Universal Tournament and Twin Universes that share similar traits. There are so many interesting concepts that this show has explored and I honestly enjoy most of them, the only problem with this is that often times these concepts are poorly flushed out or get screwed over by some strange ending *Cough* -Future Trunks Arc- *Cough* Overall I enjoy DBS but I wouldn't exactly claim that the show is horribly exceptional, however it's also not trying to be. TL;DR- It's good where it's good and bad where it's bad, but there's a reason for why it's bad sometimes.
Belart Wright Occult Gaming Um... even if he was, he's so far behind it isn't even funny. Forgetting Goku and Vegeta, Gohan, Buu, even Goten and Trunks are miles ahead
+Dragonball Ball Fan Fans wanted strong EXPERIENCED saiyans, not a bunch of noodle armed saiyans that didn't even know what a Super Saiyan was. If Cabba, Caulifla, and Kale were all experienced Saiyan warriors that already knew SSJ and even SSJ2 before they were introduced, nobody would be complaining about them, well some would but they would be in the minority. Instead, Akira has to force power up after power up on the new saiyans because he introduced the U6 Saiyans with no knowledge of something that even CHILDREN can do at this point.
@Dem Chapped lippedDragon ball fan wanted Goku to solo ever opponents across 12 universe so I don't put much stock in Dragon ball fans opinons lol we would essentially have a show of Goku one shotting people .. . From a storytelling prespective and keeping with what they've already got .eh I am not sure if they already knew 1 and 2 there obviously planning for a future arch , where there training and all the Dbz jazz . If they started 1 +2 then the focus would be on them learning god ki , which would lead to a God Ki kefla fusion , Which UI goku could not defeat under current power scaling , a God Ki kefla fusion would be more than enough to take down jiren . And It establish at this point that Saiyajin from u6 are not identical . It kinda idiotic to just add a completely new universe with completely different outcomes , to just recreate all the plot point of z (Ithat already been done multiple time with the trunks timeline) U6 is a unique entity , (no tails saiyajin who aren ot evil ) to make them a carbon copy of U7 , That just pandering to dragon ball fans nostigal and need to have everything reference ever plot point in z making even more predictable . . What they could of did is create a Unique SSJ form that only u6 Saiyajin have kinda like Trunks has his rage form ,but more powerful and they could be seeking 2 and 3 and then the plot could remain the same . Then the plot could flow pretty much the same and not as skinny ( That just an aesthetic thing though japan never been big on muscles , unless it pardoy , that an American thing) . . And .. this is a series aimed at children they added children character to relate to children same way goku was a kid , adding a bunch ugly gritty brutes that look like nappa but ugler would suck. They very much occupy the same place kid goku and kid gohan did which is why kids in japan like them.
XXXTentacion Well....yeahh Because the truth is ... they really not made a centric episodes to be honest. Its not a centric. Its just " fillers". A centric episode is when they make Z fighters, Goten & TRunks training with whis at least, focus on 17 for 2 or 3 episodes showing that they are now getting stronger that still tie with basic story and plot. Look here : 1. GOhan (fillers) centric episodes when he countered watagash if i remember..its more like they giving a new development to Videl as a wife rather than Gohan. Gohan stays weakling at that time..he just eradicated random monster and happy ending. 2. Krillin (fillers) centric episodes, well they just made krillin becoming a complete chicken that have traumatic memories from Simbal and Nappa. WHAT!? are you kidding me.....krilin now have a power that rivals gnyu force and he scared of SImbal?? In that episode they just made krilin getting back on gear without even give a proper development. 3. Slime vegeta is the most dumb fillers i have watched. Instead of give a proper development for Goten & Trunks..they...ok. 4. They spending too much time to make nonsense for the very beginning of DBS. Okay the good story is not about asspulling or make characters always strong. BUt at least if they want to go into this direction at least dont make characters absurdly getting strong out of nowhere. The scale is too much ridiculous more than Z
Ok someone please tell me how did Vegeta get taller than Bulma? In the Cell saga he was shorter than her. On Namek he was shorter than her. So the question arises do saiyans keep growing?
I haven't fact checked but I think some of the characters in super are not of the same scale as they were in Z, I think the supreme kai, Krillin, Goten, and Trunks (Kid and Future) all seem smaller or off.
#1 No more new saiyan transformations. # 2 give piccolo, gohan, tien, #17, #18, buu new Transformations, why only goku and vegeta?. # 3 make it edgy bump it up to hard pg-13
The biggest issue with DBS is Goku for me. Goku as a character has regressed to the point where he is worse than one-dimensional. Goku has always loved fighting, but Goku doesn't seem like a character we can connect with anymore. In fact, we can connect and empathize with about every character OTHER than Goku in DBS. Even side characters are better than Goku. I hardly even want to root for Goku anymore. In fact, I want to root against him because of how annoying and nonsensical his character has become. This could even be used properly if Toriyama were showing how Goku has become too obsessed with fighting, And juxtaposing it with his Vegeta has allowed his family to temper his attitude towards becoming stronger, but Toriyama doesn't seem to be heading in that direction. It's very superficial, and very lazy.
John Ciulla I completely agree with you mate about Goku's so nonchalant attitude towards everything Even one of my friend told me about this problem during future trunks arc that how dumb they are making Goku look in DBS For eg. that scene where mai nd future trunks supposedly kiss nd goku laughs nd vegeta says have u not done this or something like that And goku says no , there is no need of that , why would I do it
Here's a problem with the series. There is so much problems with explanations not being there. The writers rely on the over thinkers to theorize and make up an explanation for the series.
I know this is old but I 100% agree. I'm still waiting for the explanation of how ss god goku from BOG is 60% of beerus. Yet an even stronger goku with an even stronger form is still not close to beerus. Then add kaioken x20, mathematically it shouldn't be close as goku should be waaaaaaaaay stronger. Unless we're saying what the creator says doesn't even matter anymore
I also hate how every fight with Goku, he does the Kamehameha wave at least once, that's getting old in my book. Goku is a man who knows so many techniques, and Goku used to be so innovative with his techniques that he even already had (for example, even with the Kamehameha, he once used his feet to propel himself up so he could punch through his enemy). Anyways, point is, get more creative with how Goku takes down his enemies - I'm tired of seeing every enemy being taken down by some standoff Kamehameha battle, I've seen it too many times!
Shit you think goku is bad think about how many times we’ve seen vegeta use the final flash throughout the series hell hes used it so many damn times just in the tournament of power. And unlike the kamehameha the final flash literally never ever defeats anyone so it’s kind of funny that he keeps using it. I always roll my eyes when vegeta starts charging it up because he always uses it as a last resort and it never works. When he used it against jiren I was like really come on now the final flash ain’t gonna do shit to him
Yeah man I'm also tired of seeing goku do kamehameha in every fight not just once but twice or more, he needs to develop some new finisher move. They can make him use dragon fist or soul punisher(that he used on mecha cooler)
@@jeremyroberts8822 lmao vageta final flash is a cool move. And he have multiple attacks too his finsher galick gun and big bang attack plus his sucide like attack that he used on Top and buu
1-Better Writting 2-More interesting New Character's 3-Better explanation For how Goku got UI bec it BS 2 me 4-Consistent power level 5-Better eliminations for U7 Krillien,Tien,Piccolo elimination were shit. 6-Less asspull aka trunks form
UI was hinted in ep 5 itself. Whis has been training them to achieve ui! Although i agree Goku unlocking MUI is still a mystery. But whis was hoping he'd achieve UI Omen
1. Someone should die 2. Goku Vegeta fight one more time 3. Future trunks lives in present time 4. Go past DBZ ending 5. Get to uub and make him powerful af. 6. The feeling of dread, destroy the dragon balls get the characters back up against the wall 7. Animation quality consistent, like the episode where goku fought kale and califla
having goku and vegeta have a final battle in their base forms only should be drawn by yuya Takahashi only. with shida animating and other good artist and animators in toei
Enigmax200581 no they aren’t they are above average saiyans Gohan is a prodigy Vegeta maybe (not really) Goku started with a power lvl of 10 and took him over 5 or more years to get to the 300 zone every once of energy Goku has he earned through training they are saiyans and Goku has a calm mind but he isn’t a prodigy Kale Cabba Caulifla Broly Gohan Trunks and Goten are saiyan prodigies Vegeta isn’t a prodigy he just works really hard to get to where he is but if Piccolo had god ki he would be near Blue or above and with his intellect he would be able to follow Whis’s teaching easier Tien would struggle though but be ok (maybe)
The problem is that this series is being written and animated too quickly for some odd reason, this means that no matter what we ask for we're just not going to get it, they're wanting to machine gun out episodes and I really don't get why, I genuinely feel like with Dragonball, considering how much is actually in the concept, all the characters that are in it and characters that could be added to it, the fact that the basis is in fighting and improving and saving people that are cared for, the fact that we get to see allot more of other worlds etc, there is so so sooooooo much detail that could be worked with, if the concept of Dragonball was given to a company who whole heartedly gave a fuck about the details of everything involved, Dragonball would be the best series ever most likely, the movie level of emotion that could be written into even the small things would mean a constant rollercoster of amazing and sometimes negative emotions, this would set dragonball on another level to anyone else in my opinion, it's a shame that a concept like dragon ball is being so majorly under developed and delivered.
No.1 thing to improve is the power scaling, good lord it can be bad at times. (I am still salty about Trunks’s bankai spirit sword and how he pulled a spirit bomb out of his ass. 😡)
but then goku pulls a hakai out of his ass in which I think it was w orse due to simply making the mafuba even more pointless since goku dint need to learn it at all, the ps in the manga is just as fucked
A jar of pickles Tru, DBZ at least TRIED to have actual scaling and the fans could have solid debating on it. DBS, however, doesn't even try with the power scaling.
I think we would have been okay with Android Vs Goku .... If Goku been in base form. No transformation? Close fight ?!? I'm good with it. Makes sense. Blue ? No chance bro... no damn chance
Yea, it's really dumb they just had to make Goku go SSB their, just like he did with Krillin. Even though beforehand 17 said don't go so serious in order to not destroy the island he was tending to, it still made no sense for Goku to jump several levels ahead just to power down beneath island level anyway. Base form Goku should've been just enough for what the show was telling us what the situation was.
My list would me something like: 1. Give certain characters a bit more use like Tien or Krillin. Tien gets shit on by Toei studios having him only taking out one person and that by sacrificing himself - they could as well have brought Monaka in praying for someone to accidentaly kill him so that the opposing universe would be disqualified. Krillin was hyped up as this trickster who would be ideal for a battle royale, but got knocked out because he got too cocky (and that after the fact that everyone got the revelation of the universe being erased, seriously?!) Piccolo was played up to be this masterful strategist eventhough he only did some team attacks with Gohan, what I would want for all those characters is to redeem themselfs to get badass scenes since we all know all too well that the DB games will come out at a yearly basis and to hype them up some more would be beneficial to those games. A good example of what I mean is what they did to Roshi: at first the power scaling threw me off, but I went along with it since there is no use in complaining like every single episode you just would get unhappy. The fact that this old man knocked out how many? I believe 4 fighters in the episode centered around him made me pretty anticipated to play as him in any future games where is available in his ToP form, not gonna lie there. 2. Make fights more creative. I mean ok, it's a shonen manga but still, it basically goes around the formula of strong enemy vs our hero(es) -> power up/new form/new move -> win with a huge blast attack (while new techniques are pretty rare nowadays). I liked the Future Trunks arc in the manga where they tried to wait out for Zamasu to defuse, Trunks cutting the defused being in half etc. I mean with fights like the one against Hit you had Goku figuring out that Hit could stop time for a few miliseconds thus Goku feinting attacks. 3. Bring characters back into the story. Might sound a lot like the first issue but it's is a bit different since it deals with fighters that weren't relevant at all. By that I mean Trunks and Goten specifically. They were only there up to the fight against Copy-Vegeta to fuse into Gotenks but then were reduced to be side-characters, with the excuse for not participating in the ToP being that they are too young to fight but sending them off against Boo was alright I guess... 4. Make the existing fighters more non-one-dimensional. By that I mean especially Goku, Vegeta and Android 17. Eventhough Whis said that Vegeta is too straight-forward and Goku is too relaxed while fighting, this was never reflected outside of the Ressurection F arc. Goku basically turns into the guy who pulls out new power-ups like the SSB-Kaioken x10/20 and the Ultra Instinct, while Vegeta turned to the SSB guy who either trains with high gravity or in the room of spirit and time. Android 17 has his energy barrier going for him and thats about that for 17, thought I would see some team attacks but that only happend like once against Universe 2. 5. Expand the lore and the worldbuilding of Universe 7 and retcon the hell out of Shin's lie that there only exist 28 planets in the universe what a joke, lol. Also semi saying that the the ToP universes should be visited after being brought back by the super dragonballs. But the main aspect here is that while the other universes have much to show in terms of diversity and specimen in U7 the only space thing we ever got was Namek and Frieza's empire. Also the fact that there is a possible demon realm gives more than enough possibilities to make interesting plots (if DB Heroes is any proof). On a side note: why wasn't Dabura broght back for the ToP? With Cell you could argue that he is an Android and that Androids may not possess a soul (don't forget that the afterlife stuff in DBZ was technically non-canon since it never showed up in the DB manga!), but Dabura not being brought back I do not understand at all.
Yeah he is from the Demon Realm of Universe 7 as every Universe has a Demon Realm (but this is purely speculation). The Demon Realm is not an entirely different Universe but sort of a higher plane like the Kaioshin Realm or the afterlife, since it was created by many different wizards one of them was Demigra by the way, who created it while being imprisoned at the bottom of the Universe (for more information about this lore watch Geekdom's recent video about the Demon Realm). Cell may have been shown multiple times in afterlife during the TV show, but this may have been filler, since I believe that he wasn't shown after the Cell Saga in any chapter afterwards in the manga (since DB Super takes only the manga as source material).
Too many writers working to adapt Toriyama's plot points for the anime has really taken a toll on the consistency. I mean it's like they don't review, connect and build upon each others work so sometimes characters say and do things that contradict prior episodes. Here are some examples from this arc: 1. Goku can't dent the "iron" skin of some dragon dude from u9 but later in the arc he is casually destroying a stage made of the strongest material in the omniverse. 2. Piccolo and other non-God characters commenting on the power of people who are supposedly using God ki. I mean come on how the hell can piccolo even fathom power gains in UI isn't that a form that uses God ki? 3. SSB Goku seemingly struggling with a weaker version of Kale but then handles a stronger version of her along with caulifla in fatigued SSG. 4. Where the hell was SSG in the anime prior to this arc ? Someone obviously saw Vegeta's depiction of it in the manga and pasted it on Goku for the anime. 5. One episode Gohan saves Piccolo and makes it clear its time for me to have your back and not the other way around but then next episode Piccolo has to save Gohan again. Why can't character development stick? 6. They lifted the stamina issue of SSB form the manga ,although not exactly in the same way, but they still spam it against characters they DON'T need it for. ( I am aware of the perfect ki control thing and how it also relates to amazing suppression but all it takes is one statement from Goku/Vegeta to solidify our assumptions) There are many more technical contradications/inconsistencies but don't get me wrong I still enjoy the show for what it's worth.
Noah Moreno I mean no disrespect but think for a second regardless of what UI is at it's core Goku still has to be using/ emitting some type of ki therefore it is logical to assume that the nature of said ki is divine because why would he downgrade? This is why I wonder what place does Piccolo and other non God characters have when it pertains to accurately rationalizing this Godly power boost. I assume that's the statement you took issue with.
johnathan 173 Yes dude I said I know Goku is holding back that's common sense but many people don't realize that simply cuz the show doesn't outright tell them so which means to them scenes that feature heavy suppression may appear as contradictions especially because the anime fails to explain things.
My issues with DBS, you already mentioned, but I just need to share why they are just so important to me: 1) Give us what we NEED to know in the main series. I don’t want to have to wait for a guidebook that’s never going to be localized, or some side material that risks having contradictory information just so I can have a complete picture of the elements of the main narrative. If it’s important, then it should be part of the main canon. 2) Stakes. THIS. THIS. THIS!! I wouldn’t have minded if DBS was a retelling or takes place in an alternate timeline than GT. When you know everyone’s gonna be okay, and it’s just all about Goku finding a new form (yawn) then I find it hard to be invested in a story. 3) Less Goku. I like series that give the spotlight to individual characters because you find someone (one or more) to relate to. This is why I liked Trunks or rooted for Kulilin early on. I also ended up liking Goku (considering I had an anti-hero syndrome way back when) because Z gave me a break from him from time to time. Heck, I thought it quite bittersweet when Gohan won over Cell instead of Goku. I want more of that. (Thank you for this video, D! I’m a newish follower, and I really enjoy your content! Have a great year ahead!)
i disagree with point 6, i think is bad the biggest problem with DBS is they don't use old establish characters like Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin and etc enough. but they give to much time to worthless characters like Caulifla, Cabba and Kale give them power that they hadn't earn it.
elchippe I can get behind that... I think the universe 6 saiyans deserve to have a spin off rather than eating all the screen time to them on super. It is a show about universe 7 after all
elchippe I agree with the first part about keeping the older characters, but I do think it would be nice for the newer characters to get screen time and develop.
exactly. like why is the SON of goku damn near useless in the grand scheme. why is goks RIVAL just kind of a harder gohan. i get goku should be the strongest but everyone else is damn near completely useless when it really comes down to it.
Super can be improved if the writers actually develop the characters. Look at poor Vegeta. Arguably the most developed character on the show, that is until the writers just decide to throw out his previous development for cheap jokes.
+SenzuWeed 420 Clearly you don't know what you're talking about. Vegeta is WAY different than he was in the Cell arc. Back then he was neutral at best and his grudge against Goku was very serious, he wanted to kill Goku after everything is done, the Androids kinda got in his way and that's why he fought against them. The current Vegeta is a good person, he cares about his family and his rivalry with Goku is a FRIENDLY one, there's no angry grudge on Vegeta's part here. What did you expect? For Vegeta to stop fighting and stop trying to improve? Well, if so then you know nothing about him.
For android 17, he had unlimited stamina without the need for rest, food, water or sleep while having the desire to train. He did this for over a decade which makes perfect sense for him to be as strong as he is.
Hisham Shakdam but what kind of training was he doing to get so powerful? No Time chamber with it's harsh conditions? No gravity chamber? Look at Vegeta in Z, simply punching trees and the air isn't enough to get to the next level. Thats why Goku has had so many mentors + he's a saiayn. 17 may have unlimited stamina but in the end he is just human not a warrior race he should have limits which just aren't explained anymore.
Shane Okakpu piccolo never goes into the time chamber and he gets strong as hell. If he had the stamina that 17 had then he would be much closer to goku’s level
Hisham Shakdam That is not a decent arguement. Having Limitless Stanima does not equal Limitless power... It taked Training., even i still call B.S on Frieza power up. Lol
Hisham Shakdam Goku is ahead of Vegeta because He trains more efficiently for a longer time and had more teachers. Lol 17 power up is a B.S. Frieza power up was B.S. Gohan power up in span of several hour is B.S. You need to see the truth in that that.
Less asspulls *looking at you Caulifla, Kale, and Kefla* , and more focus on other characters like Tien, Vegeta, Cabba, Hit, etc. That would fix up some things
They should do a perfect storyline flow perfectly. Put a happy moments, conflicts, politics, character developing and so this will leave a good impact to every fans just like the older time. It just a great memory of the series remembering all the hard and pains they going thru and it is so full of soul that we never take a risk to missed the series every week. Finally, maybe just put some limit regarding their relationship to god. This sort of things just make the series not much different than those series that made for age 1~3 viewer
I really wish they stop fucking every arc's ending, Beerus faking to be asleep? Vegeta not getting the kill on Freeza? Hit faking a loss to Monaka? Zamasu becoming the universe himself and killing everybody? I'm really sceptical about the ending of the universal survival arc, I know they will find a way to give us something epic and in the following episode fuck everything up with some bullshit.
Chad Preston Beerus could've just acknowledge that Goku and Vegeta are great fighters and let them alive, Vegeta killing Freeza it would be way more satisfying, Monaka shouldnt even exist, Trunks defeating Zamasu was the perfect ending, it could just have stopped there and let him rebuild his future.
Point 4: EXACTLY!!! i mean look at Naruto. Every character is developed despite the entire story being about naruto and his road to hokage. I mean i think sauske has more fans than naruto
J Parker until shippuden where the only side characters of any importance from original Naruto were Jiraya, Tsunade, Shikimaru, Hinata, Gaara, and Guy.
Would Vegito lose the weakness of short time limit if he could go ultra instinct? I guess since all the other forms involved raising your ki maybe ultra instinct vegito could have the advantage of a long time limit with insane power due to vegito simply tapping into that state ...rather than just a simple a power up...idk just a thought
Monarch57 I dont think so Becuase UI is still base form, vegito lasted 10 min because he went blue and yeah i think he would last about 20-30 minutes..
Vegito can't go UI unless it's a transformation or state that doesn't involve getting drained out of all your energy ,if they run out of energy Vegito unfuses
The Haiku I did the same question, but never got any DB youtubers talking about it. I think this would make Vegitto be able to keep 30 min and be the strongest.
Agree with all 7 points. 8. More actual choreography and fighting "moments." Where are the awesome alpha scenes of characters dominating each other? Why aren't fights flooded with unique punches, kicks, blasts, and combos? Does anyone care about looped fast combat sequences anymore? This is 2018. 9. Less talking from peanut galleries. One exception: if the dialogue is useful and informative. "Wow, he's just plain strong!" is not useful dialogue. Give us a little blood, too. You should also make a video addressing the top 7 things the show does right!
Moro arc did pretty much all of this, it just had a few questionable decisions but other than that I think it managed to be Atleast better than the buu saga
I actually disagree with the first point of your list. The firsr two arcs are way different than the moves like the scale of the Goku=6, Beersus=10, Whis=15 which Super doesn't follow. And, I also disagree with number three as I think that it's not fair to critical about Android 17 ger stronger over 12+ years and stronger than Android Saga Super Saiyans compare to Friedan who only did 4 months for Blue tier. Beside those two, I totally agree with you 100% with you with the other pints you made.
yeah 100% agreed They need to get past Z especially when they already introduced(they were talking about) uub and also pan and bulla are born already and also the ending of Z isnt that far only 3 years (in dragon ball super timeline) and it will be the end of 10 year gap i just assume its 3 years because bulla is 3 in the end of z and pan is already 1 and she is 4 in the end of Z
Bro, You know goku fights at about the level of his opponent. For example, Goku was hiding ssj3 vs M. Vegeta is a great example... You can take goku's personality in account when it comes to what seems to look like goku being over powered or evenly matched... It is only when the opponent is truly worth taking seriously he fights for real... Goku is not a pride crusher like Vegeta and even Vegeta holds back for good reasons now...
I hope in the future we have a Dragon Ball Super Kai, where Toei literally does an adaptation of Toyotaro's manga and we get to see the good things, because in my opinion the manga is doing better than the anime.
Not all of it. There is a thing in manga is better and anime is better. Example, Hit in manga is a total shit. He is not as strong as he is in the anime, then he is talkative in manga, he smile in a sinister way, completely opposite of his anime version where he was a silent, cool and calm person, and rarely smile. For me, Hit in the anime is the real Hit. The manga version just out of the place about him.
Number 4 was spot on. In DBZ, there were huge chunks of the story where Goku was recovering from getting his ass beat or was dying, and they focused on the other characters and how they are dealing with the threats of the universe in his absence. You get literally none of that in Super.
Dragon ball super is NOT a a bad show I just don’t get that feeling where I’m on the edge of my seat it doesn’t get me off like dbz or dragon ball it was never this childish I feel like it was rushed sometimes other times it wasn’t
Trunks is relevant. It's his sidekick Goten that has no development. He's just in there for comedic relief when the kids get into some kind of trouble or when Gotenks needs to show up.
I actually went back and watch the future trunks arc and its amazing honestly u get to relieve the best moments many hated the ending but if u rewatch the arc there was alot of good there
The Future Trunks arc started off like Fairy Tail - Great but became one big pile of asspull shit Coincidentally they share the same abbreviation of FT
Imma*KLW*Legend All shounen anime have asspulls Trunks getting the power to protect hid friends and fighting with it is classic shounen FT arc had no major issues
+Cedricplayz: No major issues?? The entire arc hinges on fanservice; bringing Future Trunks back and making an evil version of Goku were stupid ideas. The Mafuba was completely pointless to the story. The power scaling is all over the place, you never know who's the strongest out of main characters, is it Black? Is it Future Trunks? Is it Vegito? It's always unclear. The first half the the arc drags ass as the characters are blind to the obvious fact that Zamasu is Black, continue doing the stupid Future Trunks/Mai/Kid Trunks romance joke, and it takes forever for them to get to the future. Then when they DO get to the future, the arc becomes repetitive by having them go to the future, get their asses kicked and go back. First they forget the senzu and then they forget the Mafuba seal, which, again, was completely pointless. The time travel shit, especially surrounding Goku Black's origin makes NO sense and is full of plot holes. Super Saiyan Rage and Super Saiyan Rosé were COMPLETELY unexplained. They horribly retconned the potara fusion, first by giving it a time limit, then by having Vegito defuse because he "used up too much power". Then fucking Future Trunks somehow learns the Spirit Bomb by accident, and with the power of the 20 people left on Earth, creates a sword strong enough to defeat a guy who shrugged off a Final Kamehameha from SSB Vegito. "well, all shonen anime have asspulls" That doesn't make them not asspulls! They're still flaws. And then the ending just screws over Future Trunks by having everything he fought for be destroyed. Wowww, that was pointless. There are plenty of good things in that arc, but it is one of the most flawed anime plots I've ever seen. Am I saying you're not allowed to like it? Of course not, these problems aren't going to bother everyone, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. The Namek Saga has tons of issues, and it's my favorite arc in all of DB. Doesn't mean I act like it's anywhere near perfect
Ways of Improving Super: Have Toyotaro on the Series as Showrunner. He has done some very interesting and intriguing ideas that he has been introducing in the Manga that the Anime has not been taking advantage of.
If that so..They should break for 1 year at least.. Let Toyo doing all the shits, making more manga chapters then anime adapting it. Like old Dragon ball. Its okay for me. The new story take place after Goku met UUb is a good idea tho.
They’re not actually spoilers they’re just previews for the episodes like every tv series has... but now the problem is that they release multiple previews and so I guess that turns into spoilers because if you read multiple they start to reveal themselves so they should just release one preview per episode
Number 7 is so true. You know what almost turned me away from the series? There was one episode where Vegeta beat up Black and gave that whole speech about being the prince of all saiyans. It was a great moment and so critical to advancing the story into the merged Zamasu finish. However, the episode after that Black just became unstoppable with his scythe and it was like wtf... I thought he was just getting his ass beat last week... and when Zamasu merged, he almost seemed weaker than Black alone... it was odd
I agree with giving other characters a shine. Not letting it be all about Goku, but develop the other characters, expecially the enemies he's faced, like Hit or Jiren... a backstory about them, how they got strong, to now. Develop them. Make them have a little more mystery to them. Develop them overall.
Your final point is good, about a younger writer running the story. In Naruto, with the epilogue movies Kishimoto stepped aside to allow someone else write the story for Naruto The Last(Kishimoto did revisions/designs) and he allowed Kodachi to co-write Boruto the movie. Kodachi has almost complete free run with the Boruto anime and manga story, Kishimoto only steps in to make revisions. Boruto's manga & anime are connected, whereas Dragon Ball Super has an anime and manga that differ in several small/big areas. Fully embracing the role Kishimoto did would work. Kodachi writes the story for Boruto the anime & manga, while Kishimoto steps in for revisions and stating he wants certain anime episodes split up into multiple(like the Boruto and Hanabi episode). Toriyama could do the same thing with Dragon Ball Super. Allow some younger writer to take over the story of the anime and manga, while he just provides direction and looks over the anime/manga scripts. I know you said Toriyama isn't as involved, though if I'm not mistaken he does talk to the manga artist a lot. It could work if he eased up. I love Dragon Ball, think Toriyama had some amazing ideas, but the story isn't perfect, nor has it ever been. Still, even if he's only 60% as invested in the series as he was when he was in his prime, Super while it does have its faults, has shown some flashes of brilliance. Having a fresh mind/opinion would do wonders for the series. Sorry for the long comment. I know these can be a bit tedious to read. It's just your point on the anime/manga having a new writer to oversee everything really resonated with me and got the wheels turning.
Create more development in the characters by like copying what Marvel is doing with avengers: Uniting everybody against a known enemy, divide them in a civil war, unite them against the unknown. I think it will work.
What I think Dragon Ball super needs to do is make a new Z Fighter Team, like really think about it, Piccolo Was a villain but Goku has to team up with him to fight Radix a bigger villain, (Piccolo is now a part of the z Fighters) some training and we go fight the next villain Vegeta, some more training and Vegeta has to team up with the Z fighters to face a BIGGER villain, I'd like to think that the cell saga was some of the best moments of Dragon Ball Z, there's a lot of tension between these characters, Vegeta was on a ego trip, Piccolo and most of the Z Fighters didn't trust him, future trunks was new and fresh, Krillin and the other Z Fighters were arguably at their best at some point in the saga. My idea for the new Z Fighters would be, obviously Goku and Vegeta, Vegeta is a different character than he was back then, we need a new character to fulfill the Vegeta role to give Edge and tention to the plot, I don't read the Manga much but I think that character can be granola, the second Z fighter will be Gohan, he will be a replacement of Piccolo, a character who is generally strong and tries to get things done, next Z fighter is Goten, the replacement of Krillin, he will be short, comedic, weak compared to the other characters, and maybe in the future he can be like teen Gohan, I'm not sure but we need one more character here, someone new, maybe like a girl fighter character who can be friends with Goten, point of this characters is that we need one more weak character.
Dude you seriously have to chill. Honestly you are killing a good vibe. Just be grateful that the guys in Japan decided to launch it again and we can enjoy the ride. Relax! Happy new year
Kinda bouncing off of your point on Character focused episodes I think there should be filler arcs that focus on characters. For example you can have a filler Arc where Piccolo goes back to Namek because he wants to learn about his culture (idk how you would make him care enough to be interested but that's why I'm a fan and not a writer on time crunch) and during his time the he finds what his Actual name is when he fused with Kami to become the nameless Namekian. They don't have to be action heavy either. Sometimes emotional stakes are more memorable than World ending stakes constantly. I'm not asking for the best Writen thing ever but incremental developments for other characters would be nice for an battle anime that has over 100 episodes sometimes. Just have Goku and Vegeta train on Beerus' planet while it's happening idk. Plus while one team of writers make up a filler arc the other can plan out the actual "cannon" arcs while the filler arc is on going.
Bulla turned out to be identical to Bulma . so chances are that probably will happen again , The only one they attempted to make into a warrior was PAN.
Done in 3:
1. Think of new formulas, less predictability & repetitiveness.
2. Share the spotlight between characters.
3. End arcs coherently.
Show improved in a 200%.
DP In Dragon Ball? That's funny. Unfortuantely that will likely never happen.
DP name one different formula no really please I can’t think of one that would work with gags action and so on
DP thank you. The funny thing is that dragon ball super would be a great series if they gave WAY more explanations on things.
Dragon Ball Fan Sure he's lost but he still gets A LOT more shine than everyone else. He does better than everyone else. Predictable? A little.
Dragon Ball Fan And Trunks arc is the only exception and even then Goku still got majority of the spotlight.
How to Improve Dragon Ball Super? Simple: *Explain What is Dr. Rota's Power?! PLEASE!*
His power is...
Dizzle Shizzle find out on the next episode of... DRAGON BALL SUPEEERRRR
lll-ハンク-lll ikr smh
he throws potions and drinks one to become a hulk.
Rewatch and see, he's holding potions.
Lol best comment
I wish the characters changed their clothes like they did in dbz instead of wearing the same thing all the time.
Right, that goes for most animes lol
well look at naruto and sakura they wear one cloth for more then 10 yrss
Hopefully goku will get his blue gi pretty soon.
Before changing their outfit or trying something fresh, They should learn "the characters height" first i think.
They never did a right thing for Goten, Trunks, Pan, and maron. It bugs me how Trunks and Goten never aged after this past year (Put aside Bulma's mom}
+The Adventurous Adventurer even though those outfits were way better than the old ones?
Blood. We need some blood. Also, dont stop fights for people to say "wow, goku got stronger" "woah, his energy is high af"
FR I hate when they cut to the characters mid battle just so they can say some corny cringe ass shit
well you've got alot of bloody shit in dbs manga chapter 62
Hopefully they keep it that way in the anime
@@nobodysixty96 There's no way it's gonna be that brutal on the TV version, because of the japanese ratings changed. It ain't toei's fault for it.
I think that they should add deeper conflict and plot development. To me, the show seems very shallow and not very emotional for the most part.
Lord Dracius it has very emotional moments, when they teased goku about killing chi chi and goten and he went crazy
you are absolutely right!! there is not a emotional attachment
Lord Dracius agreed
Agree, that's why the master Roshi episode was so popular, it had heart
There are emotional moments, but most of the time its two people fighting, no real strategies. And there are no real stakes either. I hope that after universes are erased, they CAN'T come back. There is no real penalty for losing.
This is just my opinion.
They need to focus less than on Super Saiyan Blue because they make the form look so weak and they spam it way too much!
I actually start thinking that ssj3 is stronger than blue :
how - blue has a way to long road until goku and vegeta use blue potencial like in manga
It's the way SSJ Blue is written sometimes that makes it look weak, and also i hope you're joking lol. SSJ 3 is useless too lol
Improve it by having Yuya Takahashi do all of the animation 🖐🖑!!
Guts The Black Swordsman its not that easy very good animation cost a lot
Just as good Takahashi does, his approach tends to be wrong too because his animation is so different from anything else we see, so that brings an inconsistency, he is amazing but don't forget that animators are pushed to stick to the right design that the show has, not everyone produces on their own way.
making him the Chief Animation Supervisor and Character designer would be enough lol but we wont get his key animation probably
Guts The Black Swordsman yeah and exhaust the shit ou of him? Please have some common sense
Do you guys realize that he's just kidding, right?
We need more blood
Agree
Its mostly a kids orientated show sadly thats why, same reason one piece is toned down quite a bit
If you want blood, you got it !!
Agree but I feel that = Blood=ForAnimation while Death=Drama
M Billa The original show was in a similar time slot. The TV regulations implemented, for morning shows, after dbz ended is the reason.
I think a lot of people would be upset too if they just dropped piccolo completely and he wasn’t in the series anymore because he is one of the most popular dragon ball characters of all time
Krillin could be the new Roshi
1. Better storytelling, stop rehashing and reducing already existing concepts, push forward into some ground and execute it well for once.
2. Better powerscaling and consistency
3. Have less script writers ( As of right now there are 5 or 6, as a result plot threads and ideas will clash with each other.)
4. Decreases the humor and constant jokes
5. Fix the characterization for a lot of characters
6. Focus less on the Saiyans and Goku
7. Focus more on Worldbuilding
8. Have less asspulls and plot convenient powerups
9. Create more likeable characters
10. Change the entire art direction of Super.
11. Add back the blood and gore
Future Warrior AMV 2.0 Yuya is not a veteran. He's a fresh blood and a freelancer.
Gotta disagree with a few of these.
4. Don't mind the comedy too much since there aren't a lot of threats out there.
9. we got a few likeable characters already: Cabba, Hit, ( I wanna say Caulifla and Kale but they could've been introduced way better)
Future Warrior AMV 2.0 Like I said, as of now. I never said they'll use it forever. The main problem is, will DB super really last for 5 years?
Future Warrior AMV 2.0 DB super is not Z. Also, Z only had 7 years, that's far from being almost 10 years. If we go by that time slot and assuming Toriyama does not burn out, it will come to an end at 2022. It is still not gonna happen judging from Z's term.
Add some fatalities and blood like Mortal Kombat Back in the day.
josh bentley83 I wish they could do that.
They need to move it to late at night so we can get some blood
Rampaging Rhino sadly not because toei animation wants to get a younger audience into dbs.
They can’t. Their time slot is censored sadly
The 2 easiest things that would fix Super.
1) PROPER Power Scaling
2) Concentrating more on characters besides Goku...ESPECIALLY in regards to fights.
SmaugUKA agreed
scalling yes, but super concentrates in a lot of characters besides goko, just look at the trunks arc, it focused a lot on trunks
SmaugUKA no the zamasu arc did focus on trunks and other side characters
SmaugUKA wheres the source that states akira wrote that arc before super came out? Id love to read it
Dragon ball super is a great show but the lack of blood and seriousness between fights does concern quite a bit 😔
Bandino Finesse Dragon Ball Super should be moved to a later adult slot. I totally agree there is lack of any real battle damage.
True
Yeah they would move it to Saturday night
100%
Unfortunately the time slot changed in Japan for a more kid friendly time, so they have to tone down the violence.
YES! I'm so glad someone like Geekdom feels my concern about Super's arcs. They are WAY too simplified and straightforward
I like it it simple and straight forward as I am a simple carrot that has less than 3 brain cells
Austin DeShazo Just because somthing may be intended for a younger audience doesn't mean it has to be dumbed down, look at Avatar the Last Airbender for example. Kids ain't stupid my boi
Arc implies there is a story to tell, the only actual original story they told was the goku black arc.
+Puff'n Stuff
You act like DragonBall's never been simple and straight forward... It's always been like that. Why take issue with it now?
Austin DeShazo that makes sense and why theres no blood at all unlike z had
There is something bothering me about DBS fans in general
"The spotlight is always on Goku and Vegeta"
*They give power boost to other characters*
"That makes no sense, he can not be on the same level of Goku or Vegeta"
facts
Your point you missed was that they don’t explain the boosts, they just say “hey 17 can fight evenly with blue now even though he’s just been living on an island and couldn’t even beat 1st form cell last we saw of him”
My biggest issues with DBS come from strange writing and poor execution.
I'm going to cover some things that people dislike about super and explain as to why DBS has done so with the best of my capabilities.
1.) Animation:
Early on Toei was having issues with getting together a proper animation team we need to remember as a fan base that at the time DBS was just coming into existence and was bound to have some issues. For those that say Z had the same animation throughout the whole series just take a look at Goku from the beginning of Z and then at the Buu saga, he looks much different because he not only aged but the animation style evolved to suit the tones of the show.
2.) Strange Writing:
DragonBall Super is not going to be perfect or horribly dark because at the end of the day it's a kids show that is intended to draw in revenue.
3.) Power Scaling:
I get really irritated when I see Kale tank a Kamehameha from SSB Goku, but I also understand why she did.
4.) No Backstories / Poorly Flushed Out Characters
Super has this issue where they don't seem to go into any characters backstories for more than a few seconds at maximum and as a result most characters feel simply like they have no depth, my only argument for this is that they simply don't have enough time to go into every characters backstory. I don't think this is excusable with characters like Hit and Jiren who honestly deserve far more then they've been given.
Here's what I do like about Super.
1.) Cool Designs:
I love the new transformation designs and character designs, people don't seem to give Toei enough credit when it comes to the ToP, it is legitimately hard to create so many thematically designed universes out of basically nowhere and I feel like they deserve credit in that regard.
2.) Awesome Soundtrack:
Honestly DBS has had one of the best soundtracks for being one of the most frequently airing shows. Every track sounds so outstanding and godly along with being placed in just the right moments to make them standout that it's kind of a spectacle for your ears.
3.) Animation:
I know I marked this as a negative earlier but DBS has had constant improvement throughout the series and if anyone says its animation is bad at this point they are simply wrong.
4.) Interesting Concepts:
I love concepts like the Universal Tournament and Twin Universes that share similar traits. There are so many interesting concepts that this show has explored and I honestly enjoy most of them, the only problem with this is that often times these concepts are poorly flushed out or get screwed over by some strange ending *Cough* -Future Trunks Arc- *Cough*
Overall I enjoy DBS but I wouldn't exactly claim that the show is horribly exceptional, however it's also not trying to be.
TL;DR-
It's good where it's good and bad where it's bad, but there's a reason for why it's bad sometimes.
Ginko to much
I apologize for my essay habits lol
Ginko it cool
TL;DR
Dante Bigbee yeah😂
When your at the gym and geekdom uploads a video that u can listen too 🙆💪💪
STOP GIVING PICCOLO SO MANY LOSSES
Amen my brotha ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿
Piccolo should always be in the Top 5 strongest Z fighters. The show lost something when it made him a weakling by comparison.
The Intellectro Controverse every z fighter tales L’s. Thats kinda been the story to DB. You never win, just do a little better each time.
Belart Wright Occult Gaming Um... even if he was, he's so far behind it isn't even funny. Forgetting Goku and Vegeta, Gohan, Buu, even Goten and Trunks are miles ahead
Everyone always loses if your name isn’t goku your not winning a fight dragon ball logic 😒😒
“Make more character centric episodes.”
*when character centric episodes were being made*: “I’m so tired of the filler.”
Make up your minds.
Drake it also contribute to the plot in some way
Started from the bottom now we are here !
It kinda idiotic to just add a completely new universe with completely different outcomes , to just recreate all the plot point of z (Ithat already been done multiple time with the trunks timeline) U6 is a unique entity , (no tails saiyajin who aren ot evil ) to make them a carbon copy of U7 , That just pandering to dragon ball fans nostigal and need to have everything reference ever plot point in z making even more predictable . . What they could of did is create a Unique SSJ form that only u6 Saiyajin have kinda like Trunks has his rage form ,but more powerful and they could be seeking 2 and 3 and then the plot could remain the same
Look here :
Is it me but there seems to only 3 pictures of akira toriyama floating around?!
theres lots of him as his manga character lol
I think he's shy
all in all i think it's safe to say 2017 was the best year for super
DBS Hater67 So what was the least bad year, then?
2016 Frieza Arc
Can't really take you seriously since your name literally says "DBS Hater" and you have a Jojo pic
Guys just try to enjoy the shkw and dont think too criticslly about it and youll love it
More like the disastrous year for Super.
Kale and Caulifla and Tingly Back the F%$k is that?????
They should make a new Dragon ball show called Dragon ball Super..it should have tournaments and new villian who is a white alien who is op af
Brahhhhhh
Oh MY GOD THANK YOU GEEKDOM RUclips was DRY today!! I went through all my favorites
1. Quit using Zeno's drive to achieve a boner from entertainment as a plot device.
BBGuard SP AGREE!!! i feel like they using Zenos for shield too much retconing many things and made an excuse. What a cheap shortcut.
Ok someone please tell me how did Vegeta get taller than Bulma? In the Cell saga he was shorter than her. On Namek he was shorter than her. So the question arises do saiyans keep growing?
NigelSouza well nappa is pretty old and really big.
Magic
Space
Errors?
I haven't fact checked but I think some of the characters in super are not of the same scale as they were in Z, I think the supreme kai, Krillin, Goten, and Trunks (Kid and Future) all seem smaller or off.
What do we need to do to get Danny a Job at Toei as a director or editor? Let's make this happen.
#1 No more new saiyan transformations.
# 2 give piccolo, gohan, tien, #17, #18, buu new Transformations, why only goku and vegeta?.
# 3 make it edgy bump it up to hard pg-13
annoying thing was, Buu sort of had that Good Super Buu looking form, but they just made him fat and fall asleep again
That is true. I was hoping they focused on SSj3 more often.
Dude the fuck? Not every character needs their own form. Espeially not Tien or Piccolo and 17
david garcia 3 is a useless form
Making DB edgy isn’t going to make it better.
John Ciulla that much I agree with specially that random power up that goku always having which annoys the crap out of me.
Thank Toriyama's oversight. He didn't like how Z portrayed him.
I legit think Goku has taken too many blows to the head at this point
Deathbrewer if you can't see a difference between JP DBZ Goku and JP DBS Goku, then I don't think you've watched both series.
John Ciulla I completely agree with you mate about Goku's so nonchalant attitude towards everything
Even one of my friend told me about this problem during future trunks arc that how dumb they are making Goku look in DBS
For eg. that scene where mai nd future trunks supposedly kiss nd goku laughs nd vegeta says have u not done this or something like that
And goku says no , there is no need of that , why would I do it
Here's a problem with the series.
Isaac Royal easy, BOG Movie isn’t canon :v
I also hate how every fight with Goku, he does the Kamehameha wave at least once, that's getting old in my book. Goku is a man who knows so many techniques, and Goku used to be so innovative with his techniques that he even already had (for example, even with the Kamehameha, he once used his feet to propel himself up so he could punch through his enemy). Anyways, point is, get more creative with how Goku takes down his enemies - I'm tired of seeing every enemy being taken down by some standoff Kamehameha battle, I've seen it too many times!
Yeah we need more Kamehameha grinding like against Kefla lol
1-Better Writting
2-More interesting New Character's
3-Better explanation For how Goku got UI bec it BS 2 me
4-Consistent power level
5-Better eliminations for U7
Krillien,Tien,Piccolo elimination were shit.
6-Less asspull aka trunks form
UI was hinted in ep 5 itself. Whis has been training them to achieve ui! Although i agree Goku unlocking MUI is still a mystery. But whis was hoping he'd achieve UI Omen
You are calling trunks form an asspull but in my opinion goku getting ui in under 50 minutes and even mastering it is a bigger asspull than that.
@@rawahapool goku hasn't technically "mastered" ui at the time. If he did he would've been able to tap into on command
1. Someone should die
2. Goku Vegeta fight one more time
3. Future trunks lives in present time
4. Go past DBZ ending
5. Get to uub and make him powerful af.
6. The feeling of dread, destroy the dragon balls get the characters back up against the wall
7. Animation quality consistent, like the episode where goku fought kale and califla
I agree with everything except 2,4 and 5
PureAsGold Why not 2&4?
having goku and vegeta have a final battle in their base forms only should be drawn by yuya Takahashi only. with shida animating and other good artist and animators in toei
Tonight's Top Movie Moment piccolo already died
Abdan I think when they say make someone die, they mean like an actual relevant death
Piccolo an tien should be around the level of goku and vegeta, their the only z fighters that trained for their whole life.
Amar 2k11 Saiyans are OP since zenkai boost and super saiyan became a thing.
Jia Bryant .They can still have god ki by training with whis.
Amar 2k11 But Whis isn't interested in training them. Goku and Vegeta are both prodigies.
Piccolo maybe, but tien nah
Its sad when one of the major things you could want out of super is a story with a beginning, middle, and end.
This video should've been called "7 ways that Dragon Ball Super can be Super"
Augustus Abram lul agreed
Masako already did that....
LOL
I agree Geekdom, The Toy Story trilogy is my favorite anime. DBS cannot rival it.
Lol
No.1 thing to improve is the power scaling, good lord it can be bad at times. (I am still salty about Trunks’s bankai spirit sword and how he pulled a spirit bomb out of his ass. 😡)
A jar of pickles read the manga, that never happened in the manga...
It was handled far better.
but then goku pulls a hakai out of his ass in which I think it was w orse due to simply making the mafuba even more pointless since goku dint need to learn it at all, the ps in the manga is just as fucked
A jar of pickles Tru, DBZ at least TRIED to have actual scaling and the fans could have solid debating on it. DBS, however, doesn't even try with the power scaling.
Mayday i like the approach in manga much better.
Mastered ssj blue should have been next step, then maybe kaioken and then UI in the future.
If you want pandering to power-scalers go read the manga and stop trying to scale the anime
My main problem is that the end of every ark is as predictable as an old comic,no matter what happens goku wins and everyone's OK :\
UrbanDogMil wins? Goku doesn’t win anything since Namek Saga, dude.
@@LuisBrito-ly1ko goku didn't win in cell arc,he died and NOBODY thought gohan would defeat cell
Ikr I miss the unpredictability in dbz. Anyone could die at any moment, even goku
The end of the Black Goku arc was not predictable AT ALL, no one predicted the universe being erased or Zamasu fusing with universe.
Matt Powell Couldnt have said it better myself.
Matt Powell Its annoying how much the spam SSBlue.
Matt Powell now behold some people maybe will jump into your comment and say "Goku is holding back" "Blue is perfect ki control".
pfffttt.
I put a lot of thought into that, buuut I feel he'd use Red ?? Or Base on a opponent so under par. No disrespect just logic at this point.
Make Gohan great again it's enough
Crisis Creator he is always great
Vegeta Sama Gohan is G.O.A.T
My list would me something like:
1. Give certain characters a bit more use like Tien or Krillin. Tien gets shit on by Toei studios having him only taking out one person and that by sacrificing himself - they could as well have brought Monaka in praying for someone to accidentaly kill him so that the opposing universe would be disqualified.
Krillin was hyped up as this trickster who would be ideal for a battle royale, but got knocked out because he got too cocky (and that after the fact that everyone got the revelation of the universe being erased, seriously?!)
Piccolo was played up to be this masterful strategist eventhough he only did some team attacks with Gohan, what I would want for all those characters is to redeem themselfs to get badass scenes since we all know all too well that the DB games will come out at a yearly basis and to hype them up some more would be beneficial to those games.
With Cell you could argue that he is an Android and that Androids may not possess a soul (don't forget that the afterlife stuff in DBZ was technically non-canon since it never showed up in the DB manga!), but Dabura not being brought back I do not understand at all.
thechronicle619 Dabura is from The Demon Realm, not Universe 7. Also, Cell has been shown as existing in Hell multiple times.
👏👏👏👏
Here are some examples from this arc:
( I am aware of the perfect ki control thing and how it also relates to amazing suppression but all it takes is one statement from Goku/Vegeta to solidify our assumptions)
There are many more technical contradications/inconsistencies but don't get me wrong I still enjoy the show for what it's worth.
👏👏👏
Ultra instinct has nothing to do with God ki. Ultra instinct is a form that is self explanatory like Super Saiyan God...
And God ki
Noah Moreno I mean no disrespect but think for a second regardless of what UI is at it's core Goku still has to be using/ emitting some type of ki therefore it is logical to assume that the nature of said ki is divine because why would he downgrade? This is why I wonder what place does Piccolo and other non God characters have when it pertains to accurately rationalizing this Godly power boost. I assume that's the statement you took issue with.
johnathan 173 believe me dude I know. I'm prettt sure I mentioned suppression.
johnathan 173 Yes dude I said I know Goku is holding back that's common sense but many people don't realize that simply cuz the show doesn't outright tell them so which means to them scenes that feature heavy suppression may appear as contradictions especially because the anime fails to explain things.
My issues with DBS, you already mentioned, but I just need to share why they are just so important to me:
1) Give us what we NEED to know in the main series.
Different universe different set of rules for turning ssj 🤷🏽♂️
BULLSHIT.
Thank god we have *GOOD ANIMATION*
Rigbone64 MASTER RACE Are you talking about the next episode?
Rigbone64 MASTER RACE some episodes not all of them.
Monarch57 most of the tournament has had solid animation
Some episodes have sexy animation
The recent episodes so far i mean ever since the one hour special of goku vs Jiren we have gotten SOLID ANIMATION thank god 🙏
Super can be improved if the writers actually develop the characters. Look at poor Vegeta. Arguably the most developed character on the show, that is until the writers just decide to throw out his previous development for cheap jokes.
Minato Kale um no they didn't ruin vegeta wat are u talking about
Eazy Legend he’s just a copy and paste of the cell saga vegeta right now. Back in the buu saga, he respected Goku and convinced himself he is better.
SenzuWeed 420 this.
Minato Kale Vegeta is the most developed character in Super. He fights for his family now. Love the moments with Bulma and Trunks.
+SenzuWeed 420
Clearly you don't know what you're talking about.
Lol
ChouHQ 2500 nobody said limitless power. I said he would be able to train harder and for longer without the need to recover and rest
Hisham Shakdam Goku is ahead of Vegeta because He trains more efficiently for a longer time and had more teachers. Lol
17 power up is a B.S.
RagingThunder Am unexplained power-up is an asspull.
Levonhard good point lmao
Levonhard what’s the problem with any of these endings? That’s your own problem with them
Chad Preston Beerus could've just acknowledge that Goku and Vegeta are great fighters and let them alive, Vegeta killing Freeza it would be way more satisfying, Monaka shouldnt even exist, Trunks defeating Zamasu was the perfect ending, it could just have stopped there and let him rebuild his future.
Point 4: EXACTLY!!! i mean look at Naruto. Every character is developed despite the entire story being about naruto and his road to hokage. I mean i think sauske has more fans than naruto
J Parker exactly.. naruto did exceptionally well developing characters
What Goku has is not mastered.. Like the Angels have UI all the time.
The Haiku I did the same question, but never got any DB youtubers talking about it. I think this would make Vegitto be able to keep 30 min and be the strongest.
The Haiku UI isn't base form
Definitely better than the Buu saga, thats were shit went downhill.
Dragon ball super is missing causality. This would fix almost all of these problems.
I just hope Dragon Ball Super makes it past the End of Z
PureAsGold why should he kill himself at this point it needs to be past Z
PureAsGold yeah its more episodes to come, but they need to eventually get past Z
yeah 100% agreed
They need to get past Z especially when they already introduced(they were talking about) uub and also pan and bulla are born already
and also the ending of Z isnt that far
only 3 years (in dragon ball super timeline) and it will be the end of 10 year gap
i just assume its 3 years because bulla is 3 in the end of z and pan is already 1 and she is 4 in the end of Z
It has already been 7 years O_O
True Golden Padey she isn’t one she’s two
Bro, You know goku fights at about the level of his opponent.
Thank you for shitting on everybody with the power scaling being wrong they just dont pay attention
Awesome dude great video. Thanks for vesting the time to make it.
Blood and broken limbs
zebliks saturday Morning Cartoon in Japan. Not gonna happen.
I think Super has really improved though. I can't get enough of this series.
S.I. Trigg HAHAHA
Ha
To each his own. I'm still going to watch as long as it entertains me.
This video is super legit, bro. Very fair points.
Number 4 was spot on. In DBZ, there were huge chunks of the story where Goku was recovering from getting his ass beat or was dying, and they focused on the other characters and how they are dealing with the threats of the universe in his absence. You get literally none of that in Super.
Ikr? That's why, despite my problems with it, I really enjoyed the Android/Cell Saga. Goku took the backseat for the majority of that arc
GIVE VEGETA A WIN!
MAKE VEGETA THE MAIN CHARACTER
*GIVE LESS GOKU*
vegeta already has a win he's stronger than goku
vegeta has more wins in super than goku
Matheus Rubim de Paoli Yea ikr
the narrator's voice sounds like Seth Rollins
LOL
tbh Im just sick of watching the Goku show. They even went as far as to REWIND TIME so Goku can ONCE AGAIN take the spot light
Country Ball World I strongly agree it is getting annoying as hell, like let others have their time to shine!
Yes other characters besides goku and vegeta
Country Ball World you sound like one of those vegeta fanboys that don’t realize goku is the main character
Chad Preston lmfao
And you sound like one who hasnt seen the video, or you are just full of yourself as a goku fan and dont want to accept anything else
Dragon ball super is NOT a a bad show I just don’t get that feeling where I’m on the edge of my seat it doesn’t get me off like dbz or dragon ball it was never this childish I feel like it was rushed sometimes other times it wasn’t
*Doing chores and listening to this guy talk about my favourite anime is a good combo.*
Make Goten and Trunks relevant!
Also, this is a very good list. Nice job!
Ivan Alonso in the end of z Goku tells them to train and they say they will before leaving with uub
Fastbusiness also age them up in their designs, they look younger than 4 yo gohan now
I agree but I also want these two too grow in age a bit like gohan did.. because teenage gohan was fucking badass make goten and trunks teens!!
Trunks is relevant. It's his sidekick Goten that has no development. He's just in there for comedic relief when the kids get into some kind of trouble or when Gotenks needs to show up.
I actually went back and watch the future trunks arc and its amazing honestly u get to relieve the best moments many hated the ending but if u rewatch the arc there was alot of good there
The Future Trunks arc started off like Fairy Tail - Great but became one big pile of asspull shit
Coincidentally they share the same abbreviation of FT
Tia Blue it wasn’t stupid to have Future Trunks come back or black Goku he was fine
Tia Blue I stopped reading when i saw u dont know who the strongest characters are u have to use common sense this is a shounen anime its not hard
Great video Danny...you nailed it with those improvements!
didnt realise i wasnt subscribed already but Im in after this analysis/breakdown. your the man Geekdom
Improving dbs? Here’s one although it’s probably close to impossible
REMOVE ALL SPOILERS!!!
MrHat816 totally agree 100%
They’re not actually spoilers they’re just previews for the episodes like every tv series has... but now the problem is that they release multiple previews and so I guess that turns into spoilers because if you read multiple they start to reveal themselves so they should just release one preview per episode
PatsDynasty well some times they are spoilers like when it revealed Hit was getting eliminated, or when it said Universe 4 got erased.
Tim oh I don’t mind them. I was just pointing out that they do spoil stuff.
True, spoilers ruin a lot of things remember the vegetto blue? Every one went crazy and liked it as no one knew that it was going to happen
#4 and #7 so much! GD, we're speaking the same language, good list, man! Now let's deliver this to Japan straight to the Dragon Room.
I thought he was just getting his ass beat last week... and when Zamasu merged, he almost seemed weaker than Black alone... it was odd
Brian Ofori even I felt the same lol
I agree with giving other characters a shine. Not letting it be all about Goku, but develop the other characters, expecially the enemies he's faced, like Hit or Jiren... a backstory about them, how they got strong, to now. Develop them. Make them have a little more mystery to them. Develop them overall.
I would love for the series to move on where the younger characters are more of a focus than just Goku. Definitely agree with your list.
2 things: give it more deep everywhere, in history and characters and second leave that for kids atmosphere and silly enemies
Where is blood in dbs?
MERGED ZAMASU in the manga
Vegeta had period blood on his lip in the U7 vs U6 arc
Wasn't there blood in the dub
MERGED ZAMASU They removed the blood due to the kids these days.
There to powerful to bleed
Basically, in Geekdoms last point, he's basically saying that we need a New Toriyama
Great videos, ideas 5-7 are probably the most important ones in the series. Need to work that into it a lot more.
First
Time watching this video
Create more development in the characters by like copying what Marvel is doing with avengers: Uniting everybody against a known enemy, divide them in a civil war, unite them against the unknown. I think it will work.
After finishing the Moro arc and beginning the Granolah arc, I can confidently say that DBS is heading in a much better direction.
@@redd-jb- I think the new Z Fighter team could be Goku, Vegeta, Merus, Broly, Granolah, Gohan, Piccolo and Android 17.
@@goldenfighter1986 broly and Android 17 being part of the Z Fighters would be cool
Always enjoy your videos...good work bro
Dude you seriously have to chill. Honestly you are killing a good vibe. Just be grateful that the guys in Japan decided to launch it again and we can enjoy the ride. Relax! Happy new year
I want Gohan to get Super Saiyan Blanco so he can defeat El Grande Padre. Leave it to him.
Viva la Raza, pendejo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sooo you want gohan to become super saiyan white and defeat El big daddy
i think he meant the grand priest lol
Ignore DBGT? More like, ignore both DBS and DBGT and stick with DB and DBZ Kai.
I honestly would like to see the struggle to achieve a new form
Same... all tho to achieve u.instict it was kind of a struggle
Dante Espinoza so keep Caulifla off the show, got it!
Dante Espinoza agreed
Nikola Adamovic Not really.
I've been waiting for this video for a long time, bravo! 👏
I could write a good story but don't have manga level drawing skill.
Time skip to Bulla being a bad ass like Vegeta as a teenager.
Bulla turned out to be identical to Bulma . so chances are that probably will happen again , The only one they attempted to make into a warrior was PAN.
Dragon Ball Super; Its just a mess.
Casual Exploits like your life
TRIGGERED FAN BOY DETECTED LMAO
DBS fanboys are the worst
Boy, this thread is full of trolls.
I can make Trilogy Novels to fix DBS
40th like omggg so early not even 1 min ago this was uploaded
@geekdom101 i absolutely agree with this list. Especcialy point #3. They need to explain certain things better. Keep doing your thing geekdom.
Resurection F Saga was worth the watch to me simply because they brought back Captain Genyu, Which the movie didn't have
