Would've liked it to focus on the next gen. Goten was hardly seen. When he was,he was getting his ass beat. Trunks had screen time,but he was somewhat irrelevant in the shadow dragon arc. Bulla was seen once,pan was over used. Uub was nerfed. We didn't even get to see Gotenks! Because goku always insisted on fighting alone.
Awesome Nugget exactly I would've had a completely young next gen cast Goku could've been foresseing everything but not as big of a character he's great but damn how good do they want the dude to be he achieves everything that gets boring
Remember when GT teased Adult Gotenks but used the excuse that their energy was too low.

I've always thought seeing a "next gen" team with Trunks, Goten, Marron, Uub, Bulla and Pan could be good, maybe with a couple of original characters thrown in as well.
In my opinion, GT is really not THAT bad, there are still parts that are quite enjoyable, but of course it has it's problems
The first half is garbage. The second half is actually watchable and entertaining. It also has a lot of throwbacks to the past animes, like previous villains returning in the Super 17 arc.
If GT wouldn’t have had kid goku it would’ve been a lot more enjoyable from the beginning. The Baby Arc is awesome, super 17 had its up and downs and shenron arc should’ve ended with Gogeta. Obviously there’s more I can explain, but overall GT has a lot more downs than ups. It’s about a 3.5/10 it just isn’t good for how much potential was lost.
About 80% of it is steaming garbage.

Honestly I think Uub should have been the main character. Make characters like Goku and Vegeta more side characters while the next generation gets the spotlight (Pan, Trunks, Goten, Bra)
I think Uub would be fun to focus on because it will help flesh his character out and give him a purpose. Maybe he wants to prove he’s a powerful warrior or is burdened by his past of villainy. There’s a lot that could motivate him to going on these quests!
Hell, I think Pan could have filled a sort of Vegeta role. Think about it... Pan really wanted to be trained under Goku but was brushed aside in favor of Uub. I feel like there would be some resentment and she would constantly try to prove she is stronger than him. Then as the series goes on they slowly become friends as they continue to have adventures.
Also giving Trunks, Goten, and Bra more things to do would have been great. I like their personalities as is in the series, I just want to see more of them!
Wouldn't have happened, they're not brave enough to make a brown guy the main character sadly.
If you really think about it, the Blutz Waves were not that much of a foul.
He had to do what he had to do to get his TAIL. That’s the main thing. So he needed assistance. It just so happens that because it’s Bulma and she’s using this amazing technology it can be perceived as cheats/hacks. I get it.
But Goku had to get assistance himself from Old Kai to get his tail out. Also, both Goku and Vegeta went through the SAME process to achieve Super Saiyan 4 and based off that alone, you can infer that they both had the latent, built up raw power needed to unlock the form.
The steps were-Get tail out, go Ape, then go Ape gold, then finish it off.
Cue the toxic argument between which is "better" GT or Super in the comments sigh... :/.
I watched GT personally I didn't really like it but I didn't flat out hate it, SSj4 Gogeta was the pinnacle of power and the ending tho sad was spot on (I just wished other characters played a bigger role outside of lending power to Goku, I'm still miffed there was no adult SSj3 Gotenks and Uub was flat out wasted).
While I enjoy DBS it's a fundamentally flawed series especially when compared to other animes today, let's be honest the fact it has "DB" in its name is one of the main reasons why its so popular plus ANYTHING was better than DB evolution ugh... then thanks to the BoG and RoF films revitalizing the franchise once more, the writing was literally on the wall!.
Fans should enjoy what they want tho (its all part of the SAME franchise after all) personally it would've of been cool if one of the time rings was the GT timeline.

Basically GT and Super are part of the same timeline, same anime(in context), and they should treat the two shows the same. If thats tje case, I agree even if this is not what you're saying.

I watched it and the only good thing was SSJ4 Baby and Shadow Dragons. Everything is pure shit.
I think it's true everyone I've talked to in real life hates it but never watched it. I didn't even watch it back in the day. I started it then gave up after a few episodes. I only recently watched it with my 3 year old niece cause she loved goku being a kid. It starts out pretty bad but once you get to like the baby arc it starts feeling a lot like DBZ again and it wasn't bad. The first few arcs are painful though.
Lauxe the funny thing about GT is that it did exactly what super didn't do. Meaning what everyone complains about Super, GT did.
Example GT did the power scaling correctly. And what happened? Goku was far stronger then everyone else that everyone else basically became useless.

The final fight was basically the same as Z,s but worse. Vegeta gives Goku time for the Spirit Bomb and gets beat, but Goku gets the Spirit Bomb anyway.

By getting it earlier, he should still transform like Goku did. Using a machine felt extremely out of place for Vegeta. What do you mean by changing Pan? You mean her personality?

Dragon ball gt needs a kai version much more than z. Mostly with the dubbing and cleaning the more awkward animations (boom para para).
not possible cause kai was made for z to cut out all the filler scenes and episodes and focus more on the manga, but gt is all technically filler and it has no manga. So if they did make kai gt there would be no episodes XD
Guys I meant edit the animation for some of the weaker scenes not like cut shit out. Trim was a poor choice of words to be honest.
Jay-T Kuhn How did showing the true story, characterization and motivations make DBZ worse tho?
We’re all fans here, I feel GT could be made better if they actually took the time to write the story and not rush things through and stray far away from nostalgia. It would be good to have some easter eggs here and there but GT was literally Dragon Ball meets Dragon Ball Z. The wish that made Goku a kid was not necessary and the whole show was conflicted with too many plots as well as plot holes. Super Saiyan 4 was amazing though but the color palettes could’ve been done better.
Now for Dragon Ball Super, the animation needs to be worked on, the plots definitely need to be worked on a whole bunch more and the plot holes become consistent just like GT. The show purposely puts up plot irrelevance to make the story seem progressive such as Goku always keeping his guard down or Vegeta still wanting to surpass Goku. Gohan quitting to become a family man and later coming back to fighting. However, I’m nitpicking only at Super. The real issues are the plot irrelevances to the stories that was never explained such as S-Cells and never exploring the Super Saiyan God form. The Saiyan lore was completely sweeped. Zamasu, great villain and all but he just hates mortals when there is no reason given behind that. Black Goku was an obvious nod to Xicor and the ideas of multiple universes was genius.
However, outside of these ideas, they never really implement anything new, and the transformations for the series pretty much seem to be only reason why people watch them. It’s cool but it doesn’t really head anywhere but a whole mix and repeat. Until they reach the fusion technique. It’s all consistent and GT and Super’s stories aren’t really made for adults per say. That’s my opinion but that’s my critique on both of the shows.
Lloyd Irving The lack of villainy and only having Zamasu would be due to Super bringing old villains back and not inventing anything new. In my opinion, it’s just fan feed but it’s really interesting I won’t lie. GT was the same but it was innovative and brought new things to the table mainly for plot convenience until the ending it started getting jumbled and rushed. Toei should take care their time and call for breaks to perfect these things.
I felt Goku Black was a nod to the fanmade Evil Goku with the red hair Super Saiyan form but I guess he can be considered a nod to both
I'm a fan of DBS and I think it's equel to DB and DBZ but:
- In the first 3 arcs, animation and art was done poorly
- Way too tight of a schedule
- Inconcistancies
- Random Powerups
- SSB became overused
- Why didn't Trunks just stay in the present?
- People became way too op (but that's to be expected because otherwhise it would be boring)
- Goten is a waste of space
DBZ had a lot of problems too:
- Cell Saga art was 50% good, 50% terrible
- random powerups
- Goku always took way too long to arrive (they fixed that in Kai but still)
- Death became a joke
- Cool characters that were thrown in the trash
- Inconcistancies
- Buu had way too many transformations
- Gotenks' SSJ3
- Dr. Gero created cyborgs that were way more powerful then they should've been
- (Personal Opinion: I hate namek, way too blue)
- The filler sucked ass
well I mean Dr Gero android have to be powerful or they wouldn't had an arch. so that understandable far as we know is the only person who was strong enough to even fight a super Saiyajin was freezia and freezia got his ass beat lol . need something to fill that gap
Something I really liked about GT that no one seems to mention, is the good ending. It felt like a tribute to the good old days.
I remember liking Pan when I watched the series, and was annoyed that they never let her do anything, also her never transforming into a Super Saiyan.

Dosent mean you can’t like the show because it’s your opinion, opinions exist people, but don’t get me wrong I don’t care for GT
Here's what I would add/change: Goku teaches Uub the instant transmission technique so that why Goku with his bottomless pit of a stomach isn't eating everything Uub's starving village has. This way they both can teleport to Kami's lookout to train and Goku can still be a good father and grandparent. I would also turn Goku into the mentor role, he wouldn't have as many fights (except when he learns Super Saiyan 4) and it would give Pan and Uub a Hero's Journey storyline. The main group would be Uub, Pan, Goten, Bra, and Trunks. Gotten and Trunks aren't friends anymore so when they have to team up it mirror's their fathers, and it would make Gotenks more meaningful. Pan would be rewritten so she's actually a feminist, no more "Girls can fight too, but hitting girls is wrong!" crap that she's always spouting off. Bra and Uub can have a flirty relationship if people like the sound of that. Pan and Bra also get to turn Super Saiyan at some point in the series. The overall premise for each arc of GT can stay, the execution of each arc need changing. Goku can be turned into a kid again but changes back into an adult after turning SS4. Also SS4 would have a new name, it has nothing to do with the first 3 and is related more to the Great Ape so maybe something like True Super Saiyan, or Saiyan of Legends. There would be a new arc explaining the black star balls and the search for them would be drastically changed so it doesn't feel like the search for fake Namek arc. Baby's arc would pretty much be the same except for that stupid ass board game that happens, those two new characters can just be forgotten. I've only seen up to episode 35 of GT so I can't really say how I would change the episodes past that.
When I was younger and watched GT. I didn't have much problems with the series, just me? don't see why everyone hated it so much. Not saying it was perfect, but it wasn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be I think.

When I was a kid I loved GT. And alot of that had to do with it being in Japanese and it was hard as hell to find the episodes.
But that's also what made it great because I never knew what the whole series was about and it had this mystery to it. So as I watched episodes out of order in Japanese it was really good.
Then when I saw the dub, god it was bad.

2. Remember that Goku is not the only character in the show
3. Scrap the Super #17 arc in favor of something else.
4. Give Vegeta SSJ3
5. Explain the existence of the Black Star Dragon Balls
6. Rename SSJ4 as True Super Saiyan, Ultimate Super Saiyan, or Primal Super Saiyan

Okay the last one is bullshit, Vegeta used a false moon and explained the whole blooditzpulse whatever bullshit to turn into a Great Ape against Goku in dbz.. it wasn't the fact that he used a device to do so, vegeta has a history of using devices to improve himself umm let's see frieza's healing pod, bulma's space ship which includes a gravity chamber, the capsule corp training room which is a gravity chamber, those are cases where vegeta used technology to advance himself

The SS4 Vegeta issue could have been solved quite easily.
Vilma could have made a machine to give Vegeta back his tail, he already has a technique to trigger the transformation!

I doubt believe Vegeta cheated to get SS4. He didn't skip a bunch of levels, he skipped only SS3 and can you blamd the guy? That transformation is completly useless most of the time.
The reason I don't call it cheating is because he only use that machin to go Great Ape, he had no other choice since he had no tail, thus he needed to use the machine just go great ape. After that it was all his duing. Going Golden Great Ape and then SS4, he figured that out byhimself. The machin didn't turn him into an SS4, it turned him into a great ape, which allowed him to go SS4.
I'm more of a Goku guy, but personally I do think Vegeta gets too much shit for this, even though it's not as bad as most people think

but how did he achieve SSG tho? they never said they performed the ritual or what so ever. Vegeta left with Whis ASAP there was no way Goku even had time to perform the ritual.
Feng He probably can access it by using god ki. There's a difference between regular SSG and Ritual SSG. Goku needed the ritual, because he didn't have God Ki yet, but Vegeta got God threw some other way and gained access to the form.

In Defense of GT:
1. Vegeta just used the machine to get the tail back, which isn't exactly something a Saiyan could do. Other than that Vegeta's transformation was down to him(BTW who would've liked to see Omega vs Golden Great Ape Vegeta?)
2.Pan may have been annoying but at least she ain't Caulifla

I agree with your list. I especially like the last one or no.1 with the idea of 2 Golden Great Apes fighting.
I think that if Goku was still kept as a kid the SSJ4 transformation should have essentially been the same as SSJ3 Goku and the "kid" version of SSJ3 with kid Goku and Gotenks without the need to make Goku an adult temporarily.
And hell, keep SSJ4 hair golden, as a sort of connection to the Golden Great Ape and the idea mentioned in the video about the true super saiyan form.
I assume with something like that it might not be considered a cheat for Vegeta to transform like he did in the DBGT. *Slaps forehead* Vegeta could simply use the technique he used when he transformed into his Great Ape form with his fight with Goku...No need for Bulma.

But with one form the series is given tons of popularity. SSJ4 never got boring in the show or in games. SSJ God and SSJ Blue have been boring for awhile now. Goku is just same old Goku in those forms, same for Vegeta, whereas SSJ4 was a whole character. Ultra Instinct's character changing qualities and striking badassery is what the god forms should've had from the beginning but completely lacked.

Jeffplayz 1234 I don’t know, the funny thing is that people tend to think that people don’t like super mainly due to them not being able to move on from z but I think the reason Super has so many glaring issues is mainly due to the fact that it doesn’t want to commit to any idea that may change the status quo, it doesn’t want to kill characters it doesn’t want to add characters because the end of z has to happen. The only arc that had had a significant effect on the world of dragon ball had only been the battle of gods arc any other arc can just be ignored and it would have any effect on its characters and world and that’s not good
I'd say Super is a great series with a few crap things in it, and GT is a crap series with a few great things in it.

Lord Cooler Super gave you a yellow Frieza. That's totally original, awesome and wayyyy better than a 4th form Cooler(Sarcasm). SSJ was literally a new branch of evolution, even Freeza noticed that. Randomly turning into a pink weremonkey has nothing to do with SSJ forms and it's as far from Toriyama's designs as possible. Freeza's final form and Cell's perfect form are both less complex than their previous forms, SSJ1 and SSJ2 are just changes of hair and increase of muscle mass, Buu looks very simple - there was never something as ridiculous as this ugly humanoid ape from GT. Yes, I was disappointed with Freeza's new form - but ultimately that's Toriyama's style. And at least Cooler is still unique.

Super had more problems in the first 64 episodes more than GT. the whole return of frieza is just as bad as super17. the battle of gods was slow maybe because i have watched the movie first. the U6 tournament was completly irelevant. finally Super started looking good in the black arc but shitty writting and execution puts it lower than GT imo. my verdict GT > SUPER COME AT ME
Feng only thing I like about Super is the black arc, ssb Vegito, and ultra Instinct in the Tournament Of Power everything else is Super sucks ass I only watch it cause I’m a die hard dragon ball fan. The first 30 or so episodes could probably just be done away with. If the movies dialogue was changed a little bit to fit the canon of super it'd be much better, and then straight to the universe 6 tournament.
Jasmine Nicole I'm surprised because GT barely makes the characters feel like actual people and the first few arcs were horribly boring. GT tried too hard to channel that Dragonball vibe but failed. Some of the fights also lacked a lot of weight to them. Even today it's hard for me to look at GT as something great besides the shadow dragon idea.
In super we witnessed Gohan as a husband, how much video cares for him, Beerus being chilled and a bit immature but still secretly caring for his brother by reviving his earth, Vegeta progressing into a father and less of an ass. Hell he actually had no issue with Whis training him and he even helped cabba out. Let's not forget Future trunks dealing with demons worse than before and trying to overcome them and build a family,krillin and 18 being showed a bit more as a couple which has more weight to it than in Z.
Gohan getting out of his slump was entertaining as hell too. GT just lacks so much emotion in comparison. The only solid thing it had for that was Piccolo's death.
Reivun Rantington we actually see that in GT hence why mostly everyone got so weak. If anything GT really continued off of those last episodes of Z and really showed how normal the characters have gotten in a time of peace. Especially Vegeta being the family man and taking his daughter on mall trips. If you take super out of the equation then it actually makes since. But now that super is a thing it makes no sense lol

number 1: get rid of Goku and Vegeta. number 2: make Gohan the main character. number 3: make Mr. Satan's wife the main villain. she's an evil scientist who has a dead son named Lucifer and she wants to bring him back from the dead and use Gohan's DNA to turn him into an artificial saiyan . 4: Lucifer eventually kills Mr. Satan and this makes Gohan so angry he becomes super saiyan Ω. 5: Gohan fails to defeat Lucifer, but then Pan shows up and kills Lucifer and then marries trunks and they all live happily ever after. . . i guess that's one way to "fix" GT.

I'm not saying Super isn't better than GT, but at least explain why. GT had much better ideas for villains; many of them reflected the idea of the Z Fighters' actions having consequences, especially Baby (Saiyans exterminated the Tuffles) and Shadow Dragons (abused the Dragon Balls for everything). The execution was definitely a little shoddy, but most of the time the arcs got much better around the halfway point, and often ended on a high note (End Baby fight, SSJ4 Gogeta, ending of GT).
Super doesn't really have that going for it; so far the only two arcs that have been overall pretty good have been the Goku Black saga and the ToP, and even then the Goku Black saga ended really poorly (Trunks hax FTW). The animation's pretty good, the fights are well choreographed, but the show just doesn't feel quite as cohesive as GT, nor do the events carry quite as much meaning.

To be honest- I liked the fact that Goku got turned into a kid- It was like a fresh start for him, like in that what if by Daiku Theories DBS, where Goku was reborn with his memories and powers- It was a unique idea in my opinion-
But anyway here's my 5 things I would change:
5: Give Goten more spotlight- we barely see him. (I'm just agreeing with what Awesome Nugget said 4 years ago-)
4: DO NOT NERF UUB
3: Just fix the plotholes-
2: Write Pan better- and make it a better pace-
1: When they end it, make a sequel series focusing on Goku Jr and Vegeta Jr!

GT had problems, but if you ask me, it didn't have nearly as many problems as people say it did. Of course, there's plenty of room for improvement, but I genuinely think GT is more good than bad.
If I could improve GT, I would've made the series longer, given more screen time to Trunks and Goten in the later parts, including having them fuse into Gotenks, and make Vegeta turn Super Saiyan 4 earlier so we could've gotten more fights with him like that

Hey Geekdom, I really enjoyed the video! Not sure is you're doing something different, but the production on this video looked really good.
Do you think maybe the resurrection F movie could have ruined the SSG forms or status? If they would have used SSG instead of blue, like a mastered version or close to being mastered, this may of helped clear up the confusion of the forms and other plot holes. I’m personally a fan of SSG and seeing it get dicked so early didn’t feel right. They could have given it the same sort of treatmeant SSj got. Then built up to blue like they did SSJ2.

Along with the Golden Great Ape battle, wouldn't another way for Vegeta to achieve SSJ4 be for him and Goku to merge as Golden Great Ape Gogeta to fight Omega Shenron before (via Goku) becoming merged SSJ4 Gogeta, with Vegeta gaining SSJ4 and helping to distract Omega Shenron while Goku is preparing the Spirit Bomb after they defused?

I've actually rewatched the series and I think that wish was what made the bond between him and Pan so unique in GT. If he was an adult there it just wouldn't have the same effect. I think this complaint is kind of nitpicking, but that's just me.
I don't have a problem with the way Vegeta achieved Super Saiyan 4. Vegeta didn't have a tail, ergo he could not become an Oozaru, and that's all Bulma's machine provided. The ability to turn into the Oozaru without a tail. He turned into a Super Saiyan 4 on his own.
I agree with the majority of this list. I would move the Super 17 arc to number 1 because I loathe how that whole arc was handled (besides the doctors teaming up...that was cool), and I would have either had Super Saiyan 5 take out Omega or leave Bulma's line about it out (because it's wasted hype), but this is a very very solid list. SSJ4 Vegeta didn't bother me, but if it bothers other people I think that's ok, too. But mostly just Super 17. Bad pacing. Hell was totally different. Frieza became a regenerator. The second 17 model (if Lapis and Lazuli are reworked twins, how is there another 17?), the fact that is directly responsible for shadow dragons....it's just a giant mess. I wanna give you props though, man. You do your homework and I enjoy your content. Well done.
I like uub form with fat buu but ur right they nerfed his character. The idea of combining them again and giving uub the power up was one of the better ideas of the series
Completely agree on the next generation angle. I don't know why the creators of this series are so unwilling to give more of a spotlight to the younger characters, and continuously love centering everything around Goku.

The only thing I do not agree with is the SSJ4 transformation idea. I think the form itself is the most creative in DBZ history. I agree with Vegeta’s cheating though. That isn’t how Vegeta really works, besides the Majin phase (which he regretted). The way he obtained SSJ Blue in Super was more realistic.
